Mitja said:I'm quite confident gen 6 will be very DPt/Sinnoh-like, with close to 100 new Pokemon.
Meaning most of the casual/wild/common pokemon roles will rely heavily on gen I-V pokemon (although I'm curious how those will mix now that there is 2 versions for most of these ala Tentacool/Frillish..), introducing rather special or hard to obtain pokemon, along with many evolutions and pre-evos of gen I-V (probably a focus on V, but I hope the ones forgotten in IV will get their deserved stages too, like Banette for instance).
I'm really hoping they steer away from this pattern of having one generation with tons of new Pokemon and little to no new evolutions and then the next generation is the exact opposite, there's no balance in any set of new Pokemon ever created. They should just give a few new evolutions, maybe 5-10 or something, based on who actually needs them and have about 100-140 new Pokemon.
Mitja said:--Grass, being a reptile-bird link as to shift Grass starter tradition to bird-based for a few gens
That'd get old just like most of the Grass starters being reptiles and most of the Fire starters being part Fighting. They need to move away from these kinds of stereotypical Pokemon.
Mitja said:-a new "Eevee"
--maybe humanoid, starting off as Fighting, but then depending on evolution method, GAINING types like Psychic/Dark/Poison/Flying just to have elemental ones added a later gen like Fire/Electric/Ice. So instead of changing to pure elemental types like Eevee, itd be a Fighter changing into plenty of Fighting/GainedType.
Dear Arceus, no, I'm sick of Eeveelutions.
Mitja said:-change HMs. They are still one of the bigger annoyances in any playthrough.
--at least make them erasable when not in use, but Id prefer if each pokemon would have a 5th moveslot exclusive for HMs, which can only be used outside battles. This way you don't need HM-slaves, but simply spread HM-roles over your proper team.
Adding a 5th moveslot for HMs wouldn't solve much. That would mean you would only have access to 6 HMs at most, so if there's more than 6 HMs or if none of your team can learn one or more of the HMs, you still have to switch Pokemon out. What they need to do is either make the HMs more useful in and out of battle, or make it so HMs can be used without wasting moveslots.
Mitja said:--Make Teleport work like Fly, and Fly/Dig like Dive.
Having Dive, Fly, and Dig function similarly to each other would be overkill. Fly is fine, they can make it function like they do in Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs, and that'd be cool. But Dig, not so much. It'd be kind of pointless if it were in a cave, all it would do is open up pitfalls to the next floor. So I have a better idea for Dig. You could still use it for pitfalls and stuff, but you could also use it on loose dirt (colored differently to mark where you can use it) to clear paths. For example, let's say in order to progress, you need to get past a large rock wall. Normally, you'd have to go around it, but you notice that part of it is loose. You could then use Dig and create a path through the rock wall and move on.
Mitja said:--Psy should also be SE on Ghost, creating a unique two-way SE type match-up
Not sure we need this.
Mitja said:--or make it SE against another type (Electric?)
Electric could use another weakness, actually.
Mitja said:-allow us to change a Pokemons PokeBall.
(you caught a Heatran in a Dusk Ball, or bred something that's automatically in Poke Ball...but now you can swap it for any one in your bag)
Not sure we need this either, if they bring back Seals, that'd be enough.
Mitja said:-lower secondary type STAB to 1.25x
So like if you were a Rock/Ground type you'd only get a x1.25 STAB for Ground type moves? Interesting idea, it would certainly add an element of strategy into selecting dual types.
Mitja said:-fix Ice weather, by adding Snowfall, and turning Hail into a general hazard weather.
Also not necessary, especially because we still have Sandstorm. It'd be awesome if we saw more of these types of weather effects, actually, like if they added in Acid Rain for Poison types.
Flygon2071 said:Another idea (not necessary for the 6th Gen) would be to start in the city/town you want.
That'd be a terrible idea. If you could just choose wherever you could start your journey, then how would they handle the story? Your path through the region would be drastically different based on your choice of starting town, and there's just too many possibilities for this to be remotely feasible. I think if they ever will do multiple starting towns, they'll be version exclusive.
Flygon2071 said:People have Pokemon that were gifted by someone of their family or received a pokeball and threw it at a wild pokemon. It would be nice that you could receive the started (not necessarily being of the trio) from your Mum instead of the professor.
This is more likely, you could get your starter from your Mom and then meet the Professor later.
Flygon2071 said:it would also be nice that you would enter the tall grass looking for someone/thing and you have a pokeball and you throw it at a pokemon you encounter. The battle would be similar to that of the safari zone.
Like with Wally? Maybe, IDK that that would work.
