Cimurph said:Personally I think the Mismagius of this set is going to be well used because of how many trainers, supporters, and stadiums are currently used in todays decks and Mismagius' ability to "Look at your opponent's hand. This attack does 30 damage times the number of Trainer, Supporter, and Stadium cards in your opponent's hand." for 2 energy (1 psychic, 1 colorless). If anything it will become a very effective Machamp counter with a one hit kill if your opponent has 4 supporters, trainers, or stadiums.
Also, you could probably form a deck around Gliscor. It may seem odd but 1 energy for 30 dmg and a paralyze as long as that pokemon has no dmg on it and 3 energy (1 fighting, 2 colorless) for 50 dmg and a poison. It's weakness is a x2 to water which shouldn't cause too much of a problem because water decks are not used very much and the resistance to electricity can also make this an effective counter to luxray GL Lv. X.
On a side note, what do you guys think about the Smeargle that is being released in this set becoming a tech as big as even claydol because of its PokePower - "Once during your turn (before your attack), you may look at your opponent’s hand. Choose 1 Supporter card you find there and use the effect of that card as the effect of this power. This power can't be used if Smeargle is affected by a Special Condition.", which will essentially allow you to use two supporter cards a turn and determine the effectiveness of the afore mentioned Mismagius attack.
Although I think that the Lux- variants are going to be the top performers of this format until they release another set (whatever is coming after undaunted).
Just a note about smeargle. What you read was bulbapedias translation. Serebiis translation says smeargle must be ACTIVE to use it's ability. Which would make it a great deal worse. I really hope bulbapedias translation is correct :/
