That had better be the next Pikachu! However, red pandas aren't rodents, their related to raccoon, but it would still be awesome!

I hope its like an electric rabbit! I mean I know there isn't any originality in every generations pikachu's, but hey, I love them all! So yea, a rabbit with like a lightning bolt on it's back, and it could have like a lightning blue body!

As they are always rodents, the next one will be a ferret!

But in all serious, it's going to be electric type and of course, a rodent (NOT a ferret. Ferrets are mustelids). It's also going to have a catch rate of 200 (the same as Plusle, Minun, Pachirisu, and Emolga) and is going to have a terrible BST of 405 (which is the same as Pachirisu, Plusle, and Minun). Other then that, there's really nothing else we can infer about Sixth Gen's electric rodent.

A metallic / robotic squirrel with an electrical plug tail would actually be cool. Steel/Electric has the largest set of resistances and immunities in the game so it gives the squirrel some hopes of being useful!

Since Emolga broke the 'trend' and was a Dual Type Electric/Flying (all the others were pure Electric), maybe we could see more electric rodents with dual types?

Be that as is may but Helioptile to me looks like the designs of the "pikachus" of the past. If you look at their designs the only difference (aside from the non-mamilain design) between Helioptile and the rest is Helioptile eyes aren't the full black/brown that all the rest have.

Helioptile isn't a rodent and doesn't resemble Pikachu in the slightest. It's more likely that Helioptile is analogous to Mareep, Electrike, Shinx, and/or Blitzle.

Id even say its probably gen-6 "clone" of something non-electric. (Like Blitzle wasn't a "new"-something electric, but a new Ponyta if anything)

It could be the "new Sandile" or who knows what, but I completely agree, it has nothing to do with pika-clone business.

We've had 3 gens of mice, and 2 gens with a squirrel. A hamster would be an interesting rodent to include, but I wouldn't mind another squirrel because I love squirrels.

Pluse and Minun are Rabbits, so only 2 gens of Mice.

Edit: Also, Rabbits aren't Rodents.
