But what if the Spiritomb player benches a 2nd spiritomb?

That person has many problems then.

People are forgetting Shuppet Donk's potential thanks to Expert Belt. Salamance, Gengar, Tangrowth, and Shuppet (maybe) are looking like the top contenders at the moment. No SP stuff. SPs are dead. Arceus is lol. Gyarados. Is. Not. Going. To. Be. Played. Tangrowth > it, Salamance gives it a rough time, Spiritomb gives it a rough time in general (Spiritomb WILL be played, you can't doubt that). GGW might still be out there, but it won't be winning anything. But, yeah, Gyarados might still do well, possibly, depending if Tangrowth and Salamance are good (which they're supposed to be) although everything is very overhyped atm.

Speedrill will win. :p Just kidding, I think Salamance will domonate Cities, or Tangrowth/Sceptile.

In the end, only time will tell... Many great decks are completely unexpecetd.

how could that be? Plenty of people knew about pretty much every BDIF. Also: Tangrowth? How is this deck good at all. If you get heads you heal 40 and you can do 60 and snipe. For 4 energy. I can't believe people will even consider this deck. Did you completely forget about flygon? People are always drooling over the newest cards. Salamence? This thing is CLUNKY AS HECK.

Well there are other instances. Did anyone ever expect Beedrill to be a top tier deck back when Great Encounters came out? What about back when Stormfront came out? Everyone thought Gyarados had no chance... It seems to em even Gengar was barely noticed util the Platinum sets... My point being that cards can become very good and popular when least expected.

I'm talking about the bdif's, not the decks that couldve seen play. I meen the decks that were played and won a lot.

Tangrowth is actually really good. I mean, being able to heal 1 damage in between turns is already good, and if you tech in Nidoqueen, it's even better, and the level X's Power heals you as well. Plus with Sceptile it's only two energy for 60 20-20 spread, or 120 damage with the PA one, plus if you use Expert belt, you've got an additional 20 HP and 20 more damage, creating a huge power-house tank.

As for Salamence, the ability to take 2 prizes in one turn is just epic. :p

In the end though Tangrowth is comparable to Leafeon yet that isn't popular.

expert belt runes speeddrill, the point of the deck is to swarm...

Your point? Thanks to the swarm, Beedrill can do high damage.

I've been playing around with Salamence lately and found it to be a little slow. A bad start could prove fatal, and even with the PA Sally, you still have to worry about not getting an energy (which is why you should run a Felicity's or two.) But once you do get setup, then Salamence is pretty strong.

Once you get set-up the game's over -.-

That, however, goes for a boatload of decks. Salamence is nifty but probably not fast enough.

I predict there will be something Regigigas-esque popping up - a deck that can beat a great majority of the meta, will do very well as such but suffers against a few archetypes.

Regigigas if it hides from Xtreme attack, can bring down Flygon if it somehow can hide from Extreme Attack, due to weakness and Mesprits. But Gyrados and Gengar tare it to shreds...

PokeGym posted the top Battle Roads results:

Flygon (42 top, 17 win)
Gyarados (33 top, 12 win)
Gengar (17 Top, 8 Win)
Kingdra (14 top, 4 win)
Beedrill (19 top, 2 win)
BlazeRay (24 top, 2 win)
LuxApe (6 top, 1 win)

Whatever is on here is probable what your going to see at City's, considering Arcues and some Charizard or Salamance.
It makes sense Kingdra won. It can beat all the above, Beedrill/Luxray variants being the tougher matches, and maybe Gyarados. Gengar will also dominate seeing it has slight advantage over Flygon, Gyrados, mirror (depending).

I doubt that*

Flygon will do decent, but not as good as normal. Gyarados will be overplayed, and as a result, decks will run alot of mr mime to counter

I mention fossils all right but people go all hating on them and say Kaubtops and Aerodactyl's just a donk deck but that's not quite how I play it.
