Tell everybody how you got into this. Tell us if you stopped then started again! Tell us your 1st lv. x!

How i got into Pokemon? Well my sister played pokemon around base set and kept all her cards. Then she gave them too me. I started making decks for me and friends. Then i stopped after one of the ex sets. Then at age 12, i started playing when great encounters was out and majestic dawn was coming. I spent $60 dollars on all Great Encounters decks and tins. In 1 tin i got my 1st lv. x. It was Palkia Lv. X in the Palkia LV. X tin. Then i went to a league and played mainly for fun. I didnt know about strategy or anything or how many i should use as in pokemon, trainers, and energy. For some reason i always used 24 Poke, 24 Energy, and 12 trainers. Then i got into strategy around age 13, my age right now, i got into the strategy stuff. I started playing competively around platinum. I went to my 1st tournament in states (missed cities) and ran a Shaymin deck. I came in 6th. I think that was good for my 1st tournament. I pulled Dialga G Lv. X in my winning packets :). Then at regionals i came in 32nd with a Darkrai deck :/. I missed Nationals :(. In the BRS, i came in 2nd in the top cut with Snorlax and Darkrai. In BRA i ran Magneray and came in 3rd. Now i running CressNoir, and want to run Palkia G or Flygon. That is how i got into pokemon :).

My friends at my college randomly decided to bring in their old cards for fun. They let me play one game and I was hooked. Then I was defeated by a Kingdra deck. I swore to get revenge so I made a fire deck (I was a Noob). Afterwards I just kept playing OP and thats about it.

Short and Sweet

*Edit: my first Level X was Magmortar Lv.X

this one's a good topic .. anyway how did i get into a pokemon tcg was a real accident ..

and now i run a rayquaza c lv.x and a honckrow deck ~_~

I'm not COMPLETELY sure, but I was a fan of pokemon at a young age(like 9 was this time) and I wanted to do everything pokemon, so I get into the tcg game, next thing you know, I'm in 2005 worlds :D My first ex was Latias EX, first lvx?tin Empoleon X

I got into Pokemon when it came out lol. Base Set ftw. I think we just bought cards, but the Burger King promotions got me hooked for more. That was an awful long time ago...

dmaster out.

When I was in the hospital for Cancer as a little kid, my cousin would come and bring me Pokemon cards and teach me how to play. That's how I've occupied my time and cheered myself up since xP

I remember that day.... I was in kindergarden, and was moving into a new neighborhood. I remember playing in a plie of rocks where my house was going to be build, and some scrawny kid comes up with pokemon cards. He shows me how to play (no real rules, just sound effects and physically abusing cards XD) I eventually, got into it, and easily out played him in a few weeks. He still has the same base set deck. LOL.

I was at Games by James on the last black friday, flipped a coin, it came up heads so I bought the Gigas deck. Haven't looked back since.

I have been collecting Pokemon cards since I was 4 years old, mainly through garage sales(I gots a rare candy for 5 cents today!). In 5th grade, Pokemon became a trend again. Thus, I started actually buying cards. I never got anything decent, but many of my garage sale scavenges have yielded lv.Xs, *, Crystal Pokemon and EXs. I had always wanted to play the TCG, but the league was too far away and in a horrible place in town. Last year, I met someone who is addicted to Pokemon as I am, and she encouraged me to join the TCG league(The same one in the bad part of time, lol!) . One year later, I'm placing higher then my friend in Regionals.

My first pack was of EX Dragons, which also gave me my first EX: Rayquaza. At the time, I wanted a Latios and Latias more then I did anything! I barely cared about the EX!

My first starter deck was the Latios/Latias trainer kit, but my first "Real" one was the Latios Delta Species kit.

My first non-tin Lv.X was Machamp.

I first got into it through the television series. I saw the first episode ever on TV one day while I was suspended from school(second grade) and I was hooked immediately. I started with base set and collected a bit for the next few years and traded with all the other kids at school. Then it went out of style and I ditched it for Magic/Yu-gi-oh. Then, when Expedition was released, I got back into it and immediately bought a few packs. I've been playing since. So I guess like 8-10 years I've been involved.

Well, I've been playing the video games and watching the show since I was like 5 or 6 because my older sister(who stopped playing a few years later) was in 5th grade and it was the cool thing for her so she told my mom to get me a game boy and blue version as a present after my hernia operation when I was only 5. Since then and up until now I've been a pokemon fanatic due to the games. I had also bought the cards, but merely looked at the pictures and numbers lol. When I moved from France when I was 8, I gave all my cards there to my friend who (as far as I knew lol, we just made up stuff playing with them at reccess) had a use for them and knew how to play. I really wish I hadn't I had some base set stuff that would be valuable now, they were French too lol. Anyway, then when I was 9 or 10 I decided to buy two packs of EX Emerald, and I was so happy when I pulled a holo Kyogre and holo Rayquaza. I thought "ZOMG two ledgendaries! O_O" I still have that Rayquaza(in bad condition...) to this day and it is special to me, I actually traded it to my friend(a jerk when it came to trading pokemon cards, always ripped everyone off) and had to bargain with him to trade back. He practically stole that Kyogre too, when we palyed a game he made up a rule to me when he had won that the winner got to keep one of the loser's prize cards. JERK. :p Anyway before I started getting into pokemon relations with this guy my other friend's older brother taught me how to actually play the game. I started making crap decks, just buying theme decks and modyfying them so that they weren't THAT crappy. Anyway I noticed there's a gap in my playing pokemon tcg, because I never really got any Unseen forces packs but was really into the agme from delta species onward. Anyway I continued being a noob until like...Stormfront or Platinum with no one to even trade with or play against... Then I started getting competitive and joined these forums, and entered my first tourney, a SF prerelease, and entered the next two prereleases, then finally joined a league the day of RR' release, and...yeah. So that's my complicated and boring-up-until-2009 history of pokemon tcg...

Me and my cousin played TCG once but we had kinda crappy decks (I had 7 Potions in mine :DD). Then I went to the Finnish Pokemon forum and checked the rules and stuff. My first deck was Wigglytuff GE / Xatu SW and first Lv.X I pulled was Heatran Lv.X in SF prerelease.

I've played for two-something years now (approaching three). I originally played Yu-Gi-Oh competitively, and my sister saw my cards and wanted some of her own. But she didn't like the somewhat violent images of my Yu-Gi-Oh cards, so she wanted something different. She bought a Team Rocket Starter deck from Wal-Mart, and she wanted to know how to play, so I read the rules to her via rule book. While reading, I realized that this game was perfect for someone who loved strategy games like me, so I quit Yu-Gi-Oh and went to my local league. Apparently, Rocket was no longer a playable set, and I had to get some legal cards fast. So I bought my first real starter deck: an EX Dragon Frontiers Feraligatr deck. I was swiftly PWNed by everybody, but some of the better players gave some helpful advice to me. They told me to buy another one so that I could have two Gatrs. Pretty soon, I had a nice little collection going. I went to league often and proxied a few of the cards I didn't have (Rare Candy). I did a little research on the internet, and quickly found out about a deck that happened to revolve around my favorite card: FeraliQueen. It was basically a Delta Species beatdown deck. I loved the idea, so I proxied a few Nidoqueen and I was all set. For States, I played an extremely rogue deck called, "Rogue Wing", which played off of turning my main attacker, Mothim, Dark and doing tons of damage with its two attacks. I wound up making top 16 with it!

So I was hooked. I kept playing at my league, and then a few Battle Roads and Cities came up. It was right around here that MD was released, so I built an Empoleon deck. It was really fast, and I even got second place with it at a few tournaments. It was too slow compared to Kingdra, though, so I came up with a different idea... DuskGar! It was fast enough to handle Kingdra, and Dusknoir PWNed Kingdra with Night Spin, which was cool. I even swept an entire tournament with this one!

Ever since, I've been playing this game, and doing pretty well at it. Eventually, I found a site called PokeBeach, and I made an account on their forums... and you guys know the rest.

My first Lv.X was actually an EX: Sceptile EX. However, my first Lv.X card was Empoleon Lv.X.

Well, as I can think of I'm ''playing'' the TCG since the base set came out. But not really good, it was more collecting the cards, then I had a little break and I started again with ex Ruby/Saphire. Again a little break and back in with ex Unseen Forces, well, I quit and played again a lot of times. But I'm playing 'professional' for only 2 years or so. My first ex card was Latios ex from ex Dragon and my first Lv.X card was Empoleon Lv.X.

Me, oh, now that's a long story. I first started off as a collector, just buying packs. That went on for about a good 3-4 years or so, buying pack buy pack, pulling crud by crud. But soon, I wanted to just stop collecting. I want a real hobby. I searched around on the Go-Pokemon website and saw that a Regionals was coming to my area! I quickly knew that I should join. I took out my best cards and made a n00b deck out of it (assuming it was the most beast deck of all time) but found out about illegal cards. Ouch! My poor heart. I couldn't play my Armaldo EX, Walrein EX, pretty much half of the cards in my deck. So I fixed it up a bit, and still thought it was a beastly deck (although it wasn't) and came. I got annihalated, but still went 2-3. My deck was some sort of Water/Fighting deck. So, after that tourney, I found out how fun it was and that's how I got into Pokemon. But I did stop being a n00b during December (the time I joined.)

I was pretty much hooked to the game, searching for every tourney I could possibly go to. I started out being not-so-good, but continued to come on up and show what I am today (the one who sometimes makes misplays)

My first EX was a Regirock eX from Hidden Legends, and my first Lv.X wasn't a Gliscor Lv.X. Remember, when I started play Gliscor Lv.X wasn't out. My first Lv.X was actually an Electivire.

Oh, I forgot to mention, my first ex was Latias ex from Dragon Frontiers, which I no longer have because I traded it to some other jerk at school who wouldn't trade back (Oh, the good ol'days of being noobs and getting overexcited about pokemon cards in elementary school...) And I can't remember if my first Lv.X was either a promo Empoleon or a non-promo Torterra. I'm pretty sure I got Empoleon first but I might of even gotten Torterra in that same tin. I don't remember, up until I got competitive around late 2008/early 2009 I bought cards like once a month, be it a deck, tin, or single pack...

Well i started when the TCG first came out though i never really knew of the complexity of decks and how fast they could go i eventually stopped playing when yugioh came out.

We had a yugioh leauge up and running for about 7-8 years here until it eventually died out and people started playing the new pokemon tcg. I started playing that when Great Encounters came out and i've benn playing since then although my first level X was Gallade 4 LEvel x lol

A friend from grade school introduced me to the game by giving me a lot of commons and uncommons from the Neo sets and below.

I got into Pokemon in first grade when ex dragon came out. My first deck was a salamence deck. Sceptile ex was my first ex card from ex aqua magma, My first Lv.X was a torterra Lv.X. I opened four DP packs and got two torterra Lv.Xs. Ever scence first grade I love playing pokemon. I love playing the game with my family and collecting the cards.
