Will Ash go back for his Pidgeot?

I was looking through some of the anime information that Serebii has, and something caught my eye. In Ash's Bio, under Pidgeot, it said he left it in Viridian Forest. But the very last thing it says is

"With the promise he'd return for it."

Does that mean he will go back to get it soon? I think that'd be awesome.

He might go back for it when he either Vs Paul or the "Legendry" trainer (the one who has Darkrai), or if he goes off to Issu region for the twister part of the "game" (anime)/Gym.
Then again, who knows if he will go back for it in the end.
 
No, I don't think he will. As soon as it evolved, Pidgeot became a powerful, reliable battler as well as a flier. Pretty much, the writers dumped Pidgeot just because it would be too easy for Ash just to fly around to avoid trouble. Charizard could stay because, well, he's very much useless when he doesn't feel like listening. Also, he's not that great with keeping a smooth glide, pretty much shaking Ash up the one time he did fly. Noctowl suffered as well, since I believe that Noctowl was smaller than normal(again, preventing Ash from Flying around). Swellow was also too small, and the same with Staraptor.

Anyways, that's avoiding the question. That's why he didn't keep Pidgeot(from the writer's perspective, anyways). But why wouldn't he return to use Pidgeot again? Simply because, IMO, the writers either forgot he was supposed to pick up Pidgeot or simply just don't care at this point. It would be a nice suprise to see Pidgeot return one day, but I don't think it'll happen until after the Sinnoh League.
 
Mayb the last ep of DP, he goes back to Pallet and gets Pigeot. But mostly to see his hometown
 
If i was given a chance to be Brock for one day, my question for Ash is: " Hey Ash, don't you wanna reunite with your Pidgeot you left? " Im sure Ash's answer is: When the hell did i get one?

I don't think so. He'll probably get the 3-stage bird of the 5th gen, and raise that, like he does in every generation. Perhaps in some important battle, but I don't think he'll go back to Kanto.
 
No, he will never come back for it because he forgot he had it. His mind (and everyone else's) is erased of all Pokemon (besides his team and his friend's teams) every Season.

Good point plus they need to make room for the new bird evolutionary line every season which I'm guessing is mamepeto--> Hatoopoo-->???
 
It is Ash, what do you expect? You'd expect him to go back, but.. You are talking to a new generation of kids here. They probably weren't even born when he made that promise. It's been a good 11 years. I wouldn't think he'd take a boat all the way to Vermilion City. I definitely wouldn't.
 
I would go back besides he did promise it that he would evan though he prolly wont go back for it. :(
 
The real question isn't "Will Ash go back for his Pidgeot?" It's "Why did Ash never retrieve it from the Kanto when he's been there so many times?" The other real question is "Why didn't Ash go back for his personal jet?"

Ash had a jet? I don't remember.
 
I don't think he ever will. Did he go back for Butterfree? Or Primeape? No. It's unlikely he'll return.
