Will/should we get Stage 1/Stage 2 EX cards?

I decided to post this because I've been seeing quite a few people thinking/hoping that Charizard andBlastoise will be EX in BW6 despite the fact that they've done this before. This as in not revealing the final stage with its pre-evolution(s). That had me thinking if we will ever see Stage 1/Stage 2 EX cards instead of just legendaries like it's been since BW3.

Now, I feel that they would have announced or at least hinted to Stage 1/Stage 2 EX cards in BW6 but that's is not the point of this thread. The point is will/should we get Stage 1/Stage 2 EX cards and why. I wanted to see what you guys think.
 
I really don't know. The Basic Legendary EX's we have are already incredibly powerful, and by default a Stage 2 should be more powerful than a Basic. So by making a Stage 1/2 EX it has to have something that makes it worthwhile to play. Right now I don't see anything that can do that unless it has upwards 200 HP or some increadible Ability that gives all of your Pokemon and extra 20 HP or something like that.

Off topic, but I am personally waiting for a Palkia/Dialga EX that turns the field into a pseudo-BTS. I think that would be incredible, but maybe a little broken.
 
Should? Probably.
Will? Probably not.

I really don't think the EX cards should even exist since they have ungodly amounts of HP anyway, and thus I really have no other takes on the matter.

That's pretty much what I think. I really don't want to see multiple Pokèmon with the same HP as the old Wailord ex from Sandstorm(or the holo rare one from BW5).
 
Will we? Absolutely not. Charizard and Blastoise are not special. They already didn't make Venusaur EX. :(

Should we? ABSOLUTELY YES The most fun part of the exs back in the old format was the variety. There were tons of exs good and bad of all different stages. Mew and Lugia ex were huge Basics but Medicham, Banette, and Manectric spiced things up as Stage 1s and even Stage 2s like Flygon and Blastoise strived. I wish we had something more like this: balance.

They will probably make evolved EXs eventually. But as it stands there are still plenty of Legendaries to make EXs out of.
 
It'll be funny if they get to the point of having to scrape the barrel just to keep making EX cards of legendaries. Bring on Phione-EX!
 
^ lol, Phione isn't classified as legendary.

I doubt they will, as the EXs are all legendary, and we thought there was going to be a Dragon Type Energy card, and we were proved wrong, and I think Nintendo knows that the EXs are killing the format because they are Basice, but are purposely doing this to attract youger players, as the EXs are rather easy to put into a deck.
 
It would be fun if they trolled us by doing non-legendary basic EXs like Dunsparce, Zangoose and Seviper :D

But really, they could introduce something completely new.. Say stage 2's that are about as powerful as EXs, but you don't have to give up 2 prizes making them worthwhile?

At that point, it will be a new block of cards with a new chase mechanic. ex, Lv.X, Legends, EX, etc.

Phione's legendary status is debatable, but it leans more towards the end of "yes, it is a legendary".
 
They'll probably make a new gimmick (Or bring back another old one) before they make non-legendary EXs.
 
I would love to see them :) Gengar EX, Blastoise EX, Charizard EX, Venusaur EX, Kingdra EX, Yanmega EX, so many awesome Stage 1's and 2's that you could make EX's from

Atleast if they don't print Stage 1 and 2 EX's Give us something to help with Stage 1 / 2 decks :D
 
I have my doubts. By making things exceedingly strong and difficult to get, they sell more cards. People will pay through the nose to get it. Then in the next set, make something a bit more powerful, and people will buy more packs of that set to get those cards, and so on. That means they need something stronger than Basic EX's, and I severely doubt that Stage 2 EX's will be the solution. (Which, by the way, explains all the power creep. We've been built up to a pinnacle. But soon we're going to have to get back down to base level.)
 
As much as I would love Stage 2 EXes, I don't think it will happen. I can't wait for Stage 2s to become more playable, but I'm guessing this won't happen until he get another, different type of special rare.

This precisely. This has format has been the epitome of Big Basics, and the EXs contribute to this idea. I wish that the EXs were Stage 1 and Stage 2 to begin with to promote non-Basic Pokemon play, but...nope. Looks like we're sticking with Legendary Pokemon. :/
 
I know it is unlikely that we get Evolved EXs, and it's a shame. I honestly wonder what the next big upgrade card attribute could be, but that's not the point of my posting.

Should Nintendo ever decide to produce Evolved EXs, there's some that could actually do pretty well such as: http://pkmncards.com/card/typhlosion-ex-unseen-forces-uf-110/

A little more health and better damage output and suddenly this card is pretty good in today's format, with the exception of running into Empoleon. Edit: It'd also take Rare Candy un-nerfs, but yeah.
 
Yes, we should but no, I think we won't. It looks like they decided to just stick with legendaries and forget about regular (evolved) pokémon. I think they should make EXs (or simply any Legendary) have their own stage (like the Legends in HGSS)... It'd more fair...
 
If they were to make Evolved EXs, they would probably be popular pokemon like starters. I doubt they will though because they will have like 150+ HP. I don't understand why people think EXs will have higher HP. Does Infernape have more HP than Zekrom? No. PCL will make whatever cards that will produce more money and more packs being bought.
