XY Will we be getting new evolutions?

RE: A theory of evolutions!

My dream evolutions, but highly unlikely:

-Garbodor
-Weezing
-Muk
-Parasect
-Magcargo
-Stunfisk

All among my top favorites, but if I didn't like their evos, I could now use these guys with eviolite. Win/win! I'd especially love that for Garbodor, Parasect and Mags, the latter two especially need a boost with their awful quad weaknesses.

Evolutions I'd like to see that I think ARE likely to happen sooner or later:

-Maractus
-Jynx
-Pinsir
-Mawile
-Mr. Mime
-Sableye

Beedrill and Vespiquen are unrelated species. In real life, the vast majority of bees and wasps don't have queens, and many don't even live in nests together, though some might form small communities; Beedrill is closer to a solitary paperwasp, while Vespiquen is social bee/wasp themed.
 
I'm liking TDL's idea. A decent mix of old and new. As a person suggested in the Regional Dex thread I'd like for this gen to have about 240-250-ish pokemon in it's dex. Allowing for easily over a +100 brand new Pokemon and also having room for those throwbacks. I honestly can't wait to see Dragonite in that cel shaded 3D. /Pokegasm.

Yeah, I know this. I was just stating if they were to be related species, they'd be from different aspects in the hive, giving reason as to why they would not be well, alt evolutions. Certainly there'd be no way for a Kakuna to evolve into Vespiquen, no way.
 
In my opinion, there's a 99.9% we'll be getting eeveelutions. If we look back when they introduced Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. It contained two new evolutions for Eevee (Glaceon and Leafeon). So it's likely they'll bring 2 more evolutions for Eevee or more if we're lucky. If we do get it eeveelutions, I hope they're dragon and fighting.

If 5th gen has taught us anything, it's that patterns cannot be relied upon to predict the future as they can easily be broken. Now I'm not saying there won't be Eeveelutions, nor that there is no evidence to believe there may be more this gen, but not just because 2nd and 4th gen did it.
 
I more believe that Golurk will get a new Evo. Certainly would be hard to make a convincing reason to make a Palpitoad evolution right now, unless they add in an item to do so, or it's based off trade.

Why? Because they're on the statue? That makes no sense.

Golurk has good enough stats, it doesn't need an evolution. And there's not much reason to give Palpitoad an alt evolution. What could they possibly do different with Palpitoad?
 
Remember how everyone was confused that Alomomola didn't evolve from Luvdisc?

While I kinda like that they're unrelated, but similar species, what if they added a middle-evo for the first time ever? Something that evolves from Luvdisc and then into Alomomola.

Would be fun if it had a split evolution into a darker "broken" heart theme.

No, they are not even the same egg-group, which alone instantly throws any relation out the window, no matter how hard someone imagines that they are alike.
 
It's hard to say. We know that GF is more than capable of trolling us since they did it all throughout gen 5. I'd like to see a few evolutions of old Pokemon.

You see, while it's hard to imagine Golurk getting an evo (though it still could happen - I call it Rhydon syndrome); Palpitoad is a totally different case. If it isn't obvious...

Something like what they did with Poliwhirl...
 
An alternative evolution for Palpitoad would be pointless. There's too many frogs already and yet the water starter is a frog.

That didn't stop them putting Palpitoad into a freakin statue in the game though.

They got away with that with Poliwhirl because the Poliwhirl line didn't resemble frogs that well. Palpitoad however, does, so they can't just do the same thing here.

There are two Dratini statues in the entrance of the same place. I'd like to see it happen, but I don't think it means Dragonair will be getting an alternative evolution

*facepalm*

What it means is that it doesn't bother them if there are 2 frog-pokemon in the same region.
 
And, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... the first gen 6 argument on pokebeach!!!!!

Milestone aside, I think palpitoad will not get a evo.
 
I can kind of see Golurk getting a Big Ben inspired evolution. Kinda like a giant clock tower.. "Clocklurk"
