It does increase defense, Swellow gets 20 more HP too. Besides, this is an anime-only effect, what logic?
What should actually have happened is Pikachu accidentally fries Swellow to a crisp, but that would serve little purpose besides being hilarious.

OK, did 3 of the 6 T/S cards... Nothing much, nor are the effects spectacularly extravagent. If you have any better (realistically playable) ideas, I'd love to hear them

This will be my next project after Ash's Pokes are done. Delta Species!
I missed the Ex-Series cards, and for the most part I don't care because I don't like the assymetrical design. That being said, I think Delta Species is an awesome concept. So I will do some.
I'm basing mine of the earliest dual-type ones, but instead of Steel, they'll all be part dark, for no other reason than because black highlights look snazzy (yes, a venture into assymetry for me! :O) I've been inspired by the Ex cards of course, but I've tried to keep them as though they would be in the HS generation, fonts and style, for example. Obviously, I've juggled some things around, so tell me what you think works and what doesn't.
So yeah, this is a prototype of how the final card will look. I'll try and tidy up the white Colourless symbol on the top right, and I need to get white W/R/R text, but other than that I'm happy with it. The evolutions won't require the name to be moved (something I dislike of the current cards) but I'll still add a gold border for each evolution.
