Yanmega/Magnezone discussion

And too bad there's no card that lets you SWITCH your active with one of your benched pokemon.

They should make something that does that.

I know... that would be a big help. They should do that, maybe people would stop complaining so much about Pokémon Catcher.[/sarcasm]

That's another good point, though. Many decks already run Switch, so I feel like using Catcher JUST to stall won't be as big a problem as using it to get cheap, fast OHKOs.

The deck runs switch in the current format, so I doubt they will get taken out after worlds.

Well the good lists ran Kingdra Prime for the extra 10 damage to KO any Yanmega with Magnezone. Im pretty sure that just screams "DONPHAN COUNTER". Problem? Just tech in a few Rainbow, let them KO your Magnezone, and kill every Donphan they Catcher, and rely on your supporters for game. And who says they can Catcher every turn? And what about yourself? I mean you can Catcher too before them and send out Phanphy and destroy it..... Stop worrying Yanmega/Magnezone Players. Stage One Rush "bandwagoners" are just trying to have a fanboy moment of their deck. Sure both are amazing. But in a way, equal....

Ya, Yanmega Magnezone is much better than Stage 1s even though Donphan hits Magnezone for weakness. Its not like Donphan has a type advantage over the entire deck. Yanmega's resistance helps, and Kingdra helps too. Against Stage 1s, save your Magnezone for Zoroark and Yanmega, and use Yanmega for Donphan, and you'll be fine.

Assuming they aren't playing Donphan Dragons, Megazone can probably win. I see no wait for a well built DD to lose to a Megazone though. Reshiram laughs in Kingdras face, Zekrom hits the whole deck for weakness, and Ruins of Alph makes Yanmega a terrible excuse for a Donphan counter.

DD can lose to a bad judge though.. I tested both and usually it is a 6-4 win loss ratio in favor of DD. But some of the losses were attributed to missed reversal flips so catcher should solve that.

I'd say DD has probably the best matchup against Metajudge of any decks. Unless you get really bad draws from judge or have an inconsistent deck DD should win the majority of the time. However, I'd say Metajudge can hold its own against pretty much everything else, not necessarily with a favorable matchup, but a close enough one that the better player will usually win.
