Year round school

What people don't understand is that with year round schools
You go to school 5 weeks Mon-fri
And then get 3 weeks off

No, it's really not a good idea. People need time off to be at their best.

its not a good idea, but yet has proven the best results from where it does occurr....logic these days....lol

See, doing it like those japanese. Year round school, then a MONTH break at the start of every season, then other breaks are off as well, like christmas, spring and all that.

They start the year differently where you have 3 weeks for Christmas break

Year round school is better, despite me not supporting it. Kids forget so much over break, and parents have trouble when both parents work. More frequent, short brakes, or maybe only going to school 4 days a week may subsititute, but a balanced schedule would be better academic wise.

i enjoy those japanese. i enjoy them several ;)

school is like shark. if its stops going it dies. you must swim in school so your gills get enough oxygen from water. unless you are nurse shark. they can sit on bottom. school is good for learning useful skills and habits.

What an interesting simile... (to be honest I like it)

Anyway, knowledge is basically rowing upstream; the longer you stop doing it, the more easily you backtrack. I personally do not enjoy losing such a break, but if we can even it out instead, that might be a better idea (*cough**cough*4 day school weeks*cough**cough*).

I wouldn't mind there being the option to do it, but I don't think it should be forced on anyone.

I think it would be better for your country to adopt an all year round school. Trust me, it is such a relief having a week of every 6 weeks lol. I don't know how you guys do it :p

Let's do the math.

36 weeks X 5 = 180 days. - 10 days for winter break (Apx) -10 days for spring break (Apx) - 10 days for miscelleneous other days of, = 150 days of school. 150/36= about 4.2. That means that we would go to school Mon-Thur, and Mon-Fri on every months 5th week (If it has one). Also, if we didn't have so much non-elective junk we have to do, the school day wouldn't have to be soo long. I honestly wouldn't mind going to school at 7:00 if school could be done by lunch.

That wouldn't be bad but you would still never be able to take breaks before going to the next grade. You would get your exam scores back and go to the next grade. NOT COOL!

I think that school is good but I think kids need those 2 1/2 months of summer to kind of take a break from the school year. I'm not sure but don't the kids that have year-round school get longer breaks other than summer vacation?
