I'd have to guess I spend between $750 and $2000 on pokemon related items thru the year.

PR, sleeves, boosters, boxes when I have the money, money i spend at league, etc. More if you include the food/travel included when I head to league.

I work my ass off though (kitchen manager), live on my own and pay rent/expenses (I'm 22). Considering that I can afford it, and pokemon is essentially my only major hobby outside of work (that costs money/I focus alot of time on) I think it's a fine amount. Considering the things I've gone through in life I think I'm in a good spot.

On all my gaming resources (I also play Naruto and Magic) I probably spend about $2K a year. Pokemon is about 400 to 500 of that most likely. Magic's the biggest one since I'll go out and buy out of print cards for older decks (I don't do that for any other game)

I earn a fantastic amount of money now that I am in full time work and probably spend about 7-8% of my yearly wages on Pokemon stuff, that amounts to about $2200 dollars a year, but I know that I do not have an addiction. I can easily say, "Right, Not going (to my local store) today as I want to go clubbing later etc etc.

The problem that the OP has is more of an addiction than a hobby I would reccomend seeking professional help before it takes a turn for the worse: I.e - stealing from family and friends to fund a habit...

I got roughly £300 a year including all toys, not just Pokemon (which probably encompasses about 35% of that). My family is pretty wealthy, there was just never much reason to gorge on the gifts as I was content with what I had. My Pokemon fix was largely sustained through trading.

Nowadays I'm grown up and simply don't have the time to get too involved with Pokemon or toys in general... well, OK, maybe a plushie or two...

I'm not going to go finger pointing, but I am quite baffled as to what you guys do with all that stuff, sounds like the majority of it must be sitting in a corner gathering dust (not a bad thing if you're a collector though!). It's not so much "You're wasting money!!!!!!!" but more like "What's the point?"

Mine was mor eof a projection as to what I will most likely spend, as I only took up pokemon again after a 10 year break. Currently I must of spent about $400 dollars since August but with B&W coming out soon, splurging time! :)

I do collect alot of the games and I frequently play them, but I would attribute my spending to more Nintendo than Pokemon as a company.

I buy a box and the occasional pack when I want to open a new box at work, but yes my spending is also typically confined to new sets, my birthday, and after I'm done all my Christmas shopping (since I know nobody's going to give me cards :p )
