Can't say American cartoons are any better though. It went from like Charlie Brown (who I dislike but still) to Family Guy.

I would have to say my "Golden Era" is the 90's/early 2000's. That's when Hajime no Ippo, Initial D, Yugioh, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember at the moment came around.

I could talk about this so much, correct some people here for their u'''tterly stupid opinions, horrible, horible grameer and anime title misssspellings, but I guess I ha'd better saiying just 2 moar things:
1. One Piece is the best manga, in my opinion. Read it, goddammit.
2. My Anime list - My Manga list contain more info than I would bother to share with you otherwise.

I used to be really super into anime throughout high school and into college and post-college years. I'm mostly an 80s-90s girl, though I've seen at lot (at least, it was a lot at the time), and my favourites range wildly. The interest has waned a lot recently, though; I still enjoy my old shows, but I have no real desire to watch any new shows, or to keep up with the culture.

The top-ten I had on my old reviewer's page is still pretty accurate:
1. Rose of Versailles
2. Urusei Yatsura
3. Haibane Renmei
4. FLCL
5. Paradise Kiss
6. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
7. Angel's Egg
8. My Neighbor Totoro
9. Maison Ikkoku
10. Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind

Also have to gives props to Revolutionary Girl Utena, Sailor Moon, and Jugoku Shoujo. None of those are particularly GOOD shows (I actually gave JS a pretty bad review), but I love them all and can pick up an episode and watch it at any time.

Ack, how could I forget, seriously, some real classics.

- Gurenn Laggan
- Guyver
- Goa Gai Gar
- Big-O
- Gintama (a.k.a. best thing to exist)

But my time for animoo would be early 90's - Mid 2000's. I don't watch much anime now though, just following Gintama and One Piece...

Like I've said before, modern anime seems to just be repetitive, as I see a similar story (and not to mention fanservice) in almost every new Manga or Anime I hear about. One Peice and some of the older serialized Shonen Jump comics are an exception, but a most others are simply dumb.

ShadowLugia i dont relly think there is the same sort of story for most for some yes but there are some relly good modern anime out there not including bleach and one peice and so on. but i can see your point about the fanservice i genraly try to ignore this and just get into the anime it self but sometimes it is impossible to do that.

sorry but for one i do and two there are a hell of alot of people in the world that do
oh and who the hell likes luky star pluse you actully like naruto sorry just i fell asleep after the second episode it looked like it could be relly then bam oh its now relly boring zzz
and gundam 00 bets the origanal hands down.

im sorry but if your going to say an animes crap and no one should watch it then be prepared to take critisisem from people that actully like that anime.

haruhi is a good anime it would probely make it into my top 20 just becouse i watch alot of anime stuff gets pushed down on my lists a lot and haruhi is one of them.

Have to disagree with you on this, 00 seemed to melodramatic, and not original at all. The characters and plot of the first season are just Wing's in slightly newer packaging, but worse executed. The second season's plot wasn't any better-just a remake of Zeta. The suits and graphics weren't bad but that is really all 00 has going for it. Personally, Zeta is my favorite of the Gundam series, although the ending leaves something to be desired (cough cough Kill Em All Tomino cough cough). Aside from Gundam and Keroro Gunso, I don't watch a ton of anime though.

Yes, 00 was a little over the top. If the ending of Zeta upset you, get your hands on A New Translation. It ends happy.

Actually, it wasn't
Spoiler alert: talks about ending of Zeta
so much that everyone died as the "power of the dead souls" thing made no sense. It was never seen before, never seen after, never explained, and honestly felt like Tomino ran out of ideas and pulled the whole thing out of nowhere. Other than that, I didn't really mind the ending.

see gundam 00 was the only one i actully liked i thought the others were ok but 00 relly intrested me and i relly enjoyed it i was kinda sad to see it end.
and i would recomend bleach to any one that like battle anime with massive fights with not so much build up as one piece ans naruto.

I don't know what you are reading, I never said Naruto is good. Naruto is bad. Bleach is much worse, though. The rest of you post doesn't make any sense, either. The only good anime of the big three (or well, Bleach isn't considered to be in it anymore by many people - Shonen Jump seems to count Toriko now as one) is One Piece. And oh, how good it is. :3

- plot holes, forgetting things that are said (Sooo... there were Hollows? Where did they go again? Hell? Hmm oh yeah!)
- no real plot
- dumping characters depending on popularity in favourite character polls
- let's fight
- power ups out of nowhere
- plot holes
- Ichigo fights, Ichigo "dies", Ichigo wins
- let's fight
- Orihime heals and everything is fine
- "I'm dying..." "NOOO ICHIGO, YOU HAVE TO WIN!" "Oh, looks like I can't loose this fight." => OHKO
- "Oh I have a great idea let's make Ichigos dad a Shinigami!" "Ololololol! Good!"
- "Alsoo... I forgot to tell you that there is one more stage for that..."
- "Also, did you know that ACTUALLY...?"
- plot holes
- a manga that originally had to last for four years but had to be continued because it made so much money => no real plot
- "Aaaand... it was a lieeee!!
- full of blank pages and panels (seriously, wtf)
- let's fight
- etc.
