thats not really how collectors think.. they get cards to... collect them. playing and using them declines their value significantly. Thank you. proves my point, better off selling all for more or ancient mew for 3$ and the rest for $.50 a pop (just an exaggeration)

i'd play him with feraligatr ex/cursed stone and Palkia to fetch it with... nice starter pokemon, high hp and useful turn 1.

seconded. but really, those cards have very low value, and people who are collectors prob. don't do too much with ebay, (seeing as how the dexterity of the cards could be compromised when you buy them) so if yoiu wanna do ebay i'd do a lot of cards for a smaller price. if you're just looking...

if you don't play the game i wouldn't waste your money on pokemon cards. thats the only reason to buy them (collecting definitely takes a back seat to deck priority) my personal opinion heh.

definitely start buying packs. even more theme decks to get multiples of at least decent and staple cards, not to mention plenty of energy. don't get discouraged, because unfortunately you prob. won't do well your first night. but hey, Bobby Fisher prob didn't win his first game of chess...

i'm sure the random factor is present here. they're randomly packed.. getting a box means you're getting 36 packs. meaning 36 rare cards (and so on for rarity, you know what i mean) I highly doubt they bias the good cards to dept. stores opposed to like online and hobby shops
