i believe in this case the “special illustrations” like in the description just mean Pokémon and their trainer are together in the art

What do you mean? There are no BB Boxes anymore for sale. If you mean pre-release kits - they still start two weeks prior.

The product is absolutely called “build and battle box” and absolutely are still for sale they may be referred to as a prerelease kit by LGS because how they interact with them — but it looks like it’s was just a error in gamestops listing which had them releasing the same day when I originally posted - it now it shows them corrected to the later release date

You can‘t buy these in Germany tho. They are only given out at pre-release Events in the two weeks leading up to the set. The last time you could buy them was with Paldea evolved as a leftover from Covid.

You’d think this is a mini set based on how ugly the pack artwork is.

Artwork is better than almost all of the other packs for this era, they're always way too cluttered and wearing the terasteral crowns, these are simple and clean...

Prerelease means the prerelease events. If you want to go to one, check out the tracker: https://www.pokemon.com/locator. Because we’re in such weird times with the biggest bull market ever, you might need to actually sign up to the prerelease like an entire month in advance, so if I were you and I wanted to try out a prerelease event (most beginner-friendly event!), I would start looking into it now. Basically any other time there have been prereleases you could just walk in the day of, this is the first one you might have to do this
