“Pokemon Card Game MEGA” Trademarked, Goodbye “Scarlet & Violet!”

Will this be similar to the tag team "year" for pokemon? (Team up - Cosmic) Tag Teams werent printed for a full year to my knowledge so I assume we will just get like 80% of a year of these sets until gen 10 releases? I might be missing something
Tag Teams were indeed for the whole year of 2019 - What I'm curious about though is how far the MEGA era will stretch; at the very least it should be until the second main set of 2026 (Late May), but could go all the way til the end of 2026 before Gen 10 starts in 2027

How are you getting 2? It should still be 4 main sets. Megas will be next year
I am basing this off of prospective set list, Justinbasil's website shows SV11 as Mega Lucario/Gardevoir potentially. If we are going into an era of Megas then they will be apart of that instead yes? That means that JT and DR will be the final main sets of SV and most likely the end of trainer Pokemon. It's unlikely the special sets will use the trainer gimmick.

How can you be so wrong and so right at the same time. Rest in hell yellow borders
The Yellow Borders were an important part of the design I think. Magic has black ones, Yu-Gi-Oh! has brown borders and Pokemon has Yellow ones. That's the Pokemon Yellow border. Every card game without Borders sucks. The gray sucks and looks sterile. The yellow conveys cool shit

Maybe the yellow from the earlier gens (gen 1-4, maybe 5). But I think they started using a brighter yellow in the later gens, which made the cards look cheap IMO.

Nothing beats the HGSS borders tho. Perfection

Am I the only one that is just not very excited by this? I was really looking forward to how things develop, especially how Lillie’s Clefairy seems to be the ‘Dragapult killer’? It’s like there was a clear plan and some corporate wonk decided to slam on the hand brake so to squeeze as much cash out of this new video game as possible.

Squeezing money out of the video games has been a thing since the tcg started

I dont really mind 3 prizers or fast-paced games, but can we at least get interesting mechanics, attacks, or abilities?
They've literally shown two of them. There are so many mega Pokémon with possibly even more in Z-A. I understand the trepidation around three prizers returning but can we maybe wait until they've shown more than two of these things before we say it's a write off?

Owner's Pokemon are gone before they came out
R.I.P.
What are you talking about?? No set has been canceled or delayed as far as I know.

I'm not a fan of pee colored borders. My personal favorite is blue borders of Team Plasma and red borders of Team Flare cards! But to each their own.
And I have some Magic cards with white borders. What's up with that?

The white borders in MTG were done to show they were unlimited prints of cards. BAsically the first printing of cards were black and the unlimited versions were white, which is why most every white boardered card was from a Core Set. The yellow isn't pee colored, it's gold colored and it looks fantastic

I actually would like the Gen 1-2 borders US because they were thicker or the Japanese version that looked like metallic gold.

Maybe we go back to the e-Series borders and put the flavor text where the dot codes were and the rule boxes on the bottom one

Welp, Scarlet & Violet is ending off with a pretty half-assed Tera lineup and a pretty decent selection of Owner's right now. At the very least, Z-A TCG sets will start at some point in the 4th quarter because I highly doubt the game itself would arrive any earlier.

With that in mind, I can see at least one more Owner's focused set and a late summer special set before we move on to Mega Evolutions, which surely all of them will be balanced well this time, right? And surely we will have a Crown Zenith type sendoff set, right?
