RE: (1) 95+ 'Next Destinies' Scans [1/26]
Here's what I think the thought process was for deciding which cards to make shiny. While it's probably a coincidence that these Pokemon have type advantages over the HB/PD mascots
in the video games, they were probably chosen because all of them are either playable or they have potential.
Emboar, that's played in some decks as an important supporting Pokemon. Chandelure, that's the main focus of a pretty good deck (though, I'm assuming it was played in Japan; if not, it definately had potential). Zoroark, that can be put in a lot of different decks and be effective. Hydreigon... I don't know about Japan, but this card isn't really being played. However, you can't say that it
doesn't have potential, especially now that Dark Rush was made.
I'm sure the same is true for Dark Rush's shinies. Gardevoir... I'm not sure yet on how playable this is (given its HP and Catcher being around), however, everyone knows its Ability sounds great, especially when paired up with Mewtwo EX; so it has potential. Archeops, another Pokemon with potential. With the new Twist Mountain, the fossil mechanic isn't AS crappy (at least, in my opinion), so they probably wanted to remind people about Archeops and encourage at least testing Twist Mountain out. And 'shiny' Pokemon Catcher... Though this has got to be the silliest 'shinies' in the BW era (so far), it's obviously playable.
Long message, but that's my opinion on why they chose these shinies.

That's what I personally thought they were going to do, but I guess they've just gone and lost their minds.
Well, hey! Someone
did read my (first) horribly long message! But yeah, it just would've made a whole lot more sense (from a player's AND a collector's point of view) if they had made regular EX's like Primes (being less rare to pull and replacing reverses) and made FA's like Legend pieces or Lv.X's (being slightly more rare to pull).
