(1) 'CoroCoro' Leaking! [9/11]

The leaker was wrong about psychic resisting fairy so some info could just be red herrings.

If the leaker is wrong about the starter types (I think he tells the truth for the record) then I predict these as the starter type combos:

Chespin:
Grass/ Ground: please no, I like when starters have unique types which is why I haven't chosen fire since gen 3. But it makes sense and it knowing mud shot points it even closer in that direction.

Grass/ Rock: very cool type combo offensively and defensively, there's not a whole lot pointing to it (roll out isn't good proof, many non-rock types learn it naturally)

Pure Grass: grass by itself isn't good especially on something slow.

Fennekin:
Fire/ Fairy: very nice offensive coverage, the design looks very magical and what better way to introduce a new type to the public than a starter? (I'm aware of johto)

Fire/ Dark: meh, it makes sense but I'd prefer something better. Teruuna's design does have a sly look to it, but maybe I just keep seeing zorua.

Froakie:
Water/ Dark: It really looks like he's heading in that direction, his color scheme and body language really say Dark-type to me.
Water/ Flying: Mainly wishful thinking, his agile and nimble appearance keeps saying flying type but so did grovyle...

Its super obvious to me even from the fan image that Chespin's hood which originally extended from his tail to his forehead was pulled down to his waist. This can be assumed to be a fact, meaning if we look at the design we can tell a few things. first of all this means his hood has been cut, one cut for his face, 2 for his arms and one at the bottom. one could assume the 2 "feeler" at the top of Chespin's hood became his large ears that grew similar to his tail (3 ears confirmed or 3 tails? Maybe that's not even a tail). Look at his face we can see that not only did he grow bigger but the top triangle on forehead has sprouted hair similar the to formation that was once on the top of his head. This lead me to believe due to expansion the top of head slid down to his forhead, cutting his hood on the way as it also came down to his waist. He also cut out the two sticklers the underside of the previous hood for his arms.

sorry for my terrible drawing, but you get the jist right?

I feel as though Grass/Rock is more likely than Grass/Dark, especially given Chespin and Hariboogu's cheerful expression. Maybe it's a set up for a gnarly lookin mon but as of now, Dark doesn't seem likely. At first when I saw Hariboogu I was like ..."naw" But after looking at him more he's grown on me. Plus I always pick grass, except for johto.

Fennekin has all of the evidence pointing it to Fire/Psychic or pure fire. I would be completely surprised if he was anything else. Completely. I still won't get Fennekin, it just doesnt have anything special to me. I don't hate him, but I'm not into the witch route thing.

Froakie I feel could be fighting or dark. I swear I won't understand why people think he should be flying. Because he can jump and his foam kinda looks like clouds are not good reasons I feel. There are so many Agile and nimble pokemon that aren't flying and so many Flyers that are not agile and nimble it is funny. Gekogashira may be the first Water type I get depending on the final evo. Which is why I Need to see it

Gekogashira, Froakie's evolution, is Water-type and learns Bounce. Bounce is a flying type skill. So I personally can see him evolving flying dark or fighting.

Rapidash can learn bounce too, there is no logic in thinking like this.

I'll just assume Gamefreak will stick with the Chespin family's pattern and guess that it's final evolution will look similar to Serperior. Chespin is shaped like Oshawott, the mid-evo is shaped like Pignite, so it makes sense.

I guess I'm starting to warm up to Chespin's evolution. It's still not one of my favorite's though. Grotle, Bayleef, Ivysaur, Servine, and Grovyle are still better designed in my opinion. They should've made it a bit more intimidating.

Chespin looks like it will evolve into a Gamefreak version of Hayao Miyazaki's Totoro.

Now that I think about it, that would be pretty awesome.

Oh, I did not know that.

Here we go again with this racist trite.

I thought it was obvious that I was making a joke about earlier events in the thread that got some guy banned. Guess I should've been more clear about it. Sorry for any offenses.

Dark resists Ghost so Houndoom, Bisharp, and Drapion resist it, too.

Fairy does neutral damage to Houndoom (strong against Dark, resisted by Fire) and Bisharp (strong against Dark, resisted by Steel). So only Drapion fits.
Forgot Fairy was strong against Dark. Drapion doesn't resist it either, then. Wow, only one Pokemon resists it after all.

Also I totally called a fire type lion named Pyroar. The one we got was pretty cool, but would be better if the mane were actually flaming. Maybe it'll get that Fire/Poison manticore as a mega evo. Pyroar looks to adult/complete to get an actual evolution.

Drapion Drapion still only has one weakness though, ground. Poison having the added benefit of resist to fairy imo was a must have for it. I just wish drapion didn't look so awkward... I rly love his typing for this gen

Meinshao and meinfoo know bounce
Politoed knows bounce
toxicroak and croagunk know bounce
Ponyta and Rapidash know bounce

In fact, only 5 flying types know bounce. Your point?

What if... GF is trolling us?

Chespin: Grass/Fighting by becoming a bulky fighter like Tepig did
Fennekin: Fire/Fighting by gaining the ability to punch (and also kick more easily)
Froakie: Water/Fighting by gaining long limbs with which to bypass the enemy's defenses for easier punches/kicks

Yeah, of course I'm kidding

I wonder if Clemont's little sister is going to be a travel partner too in the anime. =o

Fun fact: When Chestnuts get too big or are roasted, their shell explodes. I have a personal theory that chespin's second evolution looks that way because it is starting to outgrow it's shell and it will eventually explode out of it when it evolves.

Maybe a super-buff Chespin final evolution will bust out of its flab and conquer the world! Let's just hope we don't have to roast it first though D:

It is exciting to see all of the new Pokemon! Pyroar looks really cool, I can't wait to play through and see who I am going to use on my team (most likely Kalos only).

We have seen a new Pokemon of every type except Ground now. I just can't wait to see what Ground types will look like in this region!

Ok, to everyone asking about my post with bounce... I am fairly new to the pokemon games. I haven't played since red and blue versions. I saw bounce was a flying type skill and assumed mainly flying types learned it. I was not aware so many nonflyers could learn that skill...

Game Freak is rustling my jimmies with fire.
In a good way.
Pyroar looks awesome, A mage Fennekin, AND FREAKING TORCHIC.

Any idea who was responsible for IGN? Y'know, with Pyroar?
I should say HOW they screwed up. But I'm not complaining.
