(1) Dragon-Types To Be Introduced to the TCG with 'Dragon Selection!!' [10/25]

And who said they wouldn't introduce a new type *coughalotofpeoplecough*

Wow, really exciting news. I can't wait for this!

I'm hoping some sort of teal. I don't know which other colors they COULD be. Looking at the colors of current types, anything else appropriate would be too close to a current color scheme. OMG SPECIAL DRAGON ENERGY?!?!?!

Wow. I can't wait to see the energy for the type. This will balance out the ridiculous Colorless category.

So does this mean that there will be a new type of Energy as well? This is very interesting and I wonder how this will affect the game.

Holy hell, this is sort of a big deal. I really hope they don't start trying to give each type it's own energy though, just because stuff like poison, bug, ice, etc. having its own energy is just a bit damn redundant.

Wow, this is going to be epic. So, that means they are probably either going to be weak to water or dragon. And I'm going to guess that the color is something like royal blue.

I think all of the other types are fine. Dragon was the only real problem, because they're weak to colorless...I mean...really?! This news could also explain why the dragon types coming out don't have weaknesses. (They wanted to get rid of the colorless weakness.)

So is Dragon going to be weak to Water now? And resistant to Water/Lighting/Grass/Fire? :p

I don't like this. I thought everything was fine as it was. How are they going to create an Energy for it? I have a feeling that its going to be Colorless Energy like it originally is/was, like no specific Energy costs. I wonder how everything is going to pan out? If Lost Link is anything to judge by, its going to be a mini-set failure that isn't going to continue. And they better not start adding other types, like Bug, Rock, Ice, Ground, Poison, etc.

EDIT: For WPM, it probably is going to be judged on a secondary type, if any. If its straight Dragon, probably no Resistance. Or like every other card that should have gotten a Resistance, none.

Should Dragon be weak to Dragon? That is the only thing that would make sense. I bet they make Dragon types Gold. I'm guessing they will have Fighting resistance.

This is just a minor issue, but the first set to introduce the Lost Zone wasn't Lost Link, but Platinum.

(However, Lost Link did give us a brand new win condition in the form of Lost World.)

This is a really bad call IMO. Dragons often have weird energy costs, so we don't need a Dragon energy, but honestly, it makes the game weird. Dragons felt good as normal types. They were weak to themselves, and barely much else (playability wise). Can't wait to see if they are good or not, but introducing a new type without serious reason would be a VERY bad idea. I hope they have a very good reason to introduce the dragon types. I bet they are going to be gold. Even so, all changes to the game are EXCITING!!! Can't wait to see how they play.

@Zero
I like what you said. Dragons are like never good (as far as I know, the only playable one in TCG history is Garchomp C Lv.X), so this may make them spike in play, but I hope its like Lost Link, and just dies out. Dragons are best as Normal type, because to me it just seems confusing otherwise). Besides, it kinda fits too.

I can see the arguments for gold, but I'm thinking the type colour will be a nice, deep blue. Would stand out more from the other colours best, I think. It would also make sense, both internally and thematically, for dragon-type to be weak to dragon-type. It fits in with the games, and if they end up scraping or downplaying the extra typing later, it doesn't affect any other cards.

Seems like a cool idea, though.
