(1) Play 'Black' and 'White' on the Internet; Clear Screenshots and Artwork [7/14]

I think that it is going to be great to finally be able to play Pokemon online but one thing that has me worried is the fact that this could open a huge window for the people who hack games and what if this also allows people to put things on our save files that we don't particularly want? Other than that I think that this could have potential if Nintendo does it right.

Having clearer images of Zekrom's and Reshiram's sprites is awesome. Glad I got the top/back of Zekrom's hands/arms right, or else I'd have to edit my art... >_> I can't wait to see how they end up animating those.
I agree. I hope those aren't changed at all, for I love the sprites very much. I think sprites have come a long way since Generation 1 and so on...., but I love the clearer images released without any glare from light that obstructs the image from the magazine. I love the new sprites for all of the new pokemon.

@Sudowoodo: Weelll, maybe and maybe not. We don't know yet because we have no pics of the booth. Although there are probably none so far because the ones there are just reiterations of what has been revealed up to this point, it might just be that no one has gotten around to it.

Someone on another thread said their friend is at E3 and is en route to the booth. So maybe he can shed some light on this whole thing.

LOL! That's the guy that used the Donphan long before generation 2, and had his Golem get electrified. I think the developers messed up a bit there :p

but wouldnt people be able to hack the file and make there team stronger or stuff like that?

People can already hack their file, they don't need to upload there games to a computer to do so. As long as there's AR and P-S, there will be hacking, unfortunately.

More on topic, I really am curious how this will work. Here's hoping for DLC.

I've always wanted to be able to customize my trainer, too, so if there is some sort of MMO then I'd relish that feature.

mmm....relish....

Anywho, I think that this whole save file on the internet thing is really cool. Imagine if you walk around in Hiun City online, with other trainers in real-time who you can talk to, battle, trade with, and the like.

That would be so awesome.

Like a giant Pokemon hub?

I'd be running around with those guys we saw in that one video of the street, just trying to fit in, xD

Yeah, that'd be so fun, what with all those opportunities for battle.

And it'd be even better if they made the "pokemon hub" like a real city. You know, like with abandonned alleys and stuff. What if there were dealers in those alleys who sold items that...increased the happiness of your pokemon?

Sounds kinda like a drug reference, but that'd still be amazing xD

I'm sure people would get together and make like, gangs of trainers, then have some sort of territorial battles.

Heck, actually, I'd love to get in on something like that XD

This thing with playing on the internet sounds interesting. I wonder if it will be possible to pay to play the game on your computer as a direct download, with no need for a Nintendo DS system. Would that be going to far?

I think Nintendo still wants to sell DS's.

Brings up a point I totally forgot. I bet they're going to have some extra unlockables online, but I'm fairly sure that the cooler ones will require a little bit of cash/nintendo points.

Hm....

has anyone noticed that gear has the "x" on the right eye but, when he is battling the grass starter in the picture the "x" is on his left eye?

That would be me! Another person who was there informed that they didn't see any Pokemon Black at Nintendo's booth, but did see the other 2 pokemon games (Ranger and PokePark). He's heading back there today to try out a 3DS so if there is anything I'm sure he'll mention it. As for the other contact, I haven't heard from him yet, though I'm sure he'll probably make his way over there today or tomorrow too. It's my guess that Gamespot was misinformed about the Pokemon games that would actually be there.

But on topic! The thought of playing Pokemon via my computer would be great simply because 1, people will be able to upload and/or record their battles or Let's Plays so much easier and 2, no more fighting with your wifi to get your game to work for battling.

I shelled out money for the Nintendo WiFi adapter for my computer back in the day and while it worked well - after I upgraded my computer to Vista it refused to work. eventually Nintendo patched a software version to update it and work with Vista, but it still didn't work for me. Thankfully I was able to use my own Wifi at that point. Now with Windows 7 and 3DS, such technology is really obsolete and I can see why they wanted to take it to the next step.

Though I wonder how this will work? Will they include a USB cable with your game to do this? The thought of uploading my game without one (wirelessly or on wifi) worries me. USB is just so much more secure, with less error to go wrong. Does this also mean they'll be including a disc with the game? Or maybe just direct you to the website so you can download the content straight from them.

ok first, ever since 2nd gen the pokemon have gotten more cartoon like. and it looks like theyre keeping that going, i understand its a kids game but Im 22 ive been playing since red and i miss the more edgier pokemon from 1st and 2nd gens.
just kind of a let down to me personally

second
ive been wishing for a mmo since stadium, if this is true ill never leave my house

they better keep the pokewalker it rules

@mosherstomper: Uhh, more cartoon-like you say? Boulderdash!! This isn't like this is a video game or anything, with imaginary creatures, right? Jeeze, man, what were you thinking? Snap out of it!

Also, they did mention some Infrared stuff in the last issue of corocoro so maybe the pokewalker will stay or something like it. Although I highly doubt the actual pokewalker will, though.
