(1) 'Pokemon Smash' Reveals New X/Y Pokemon!

If they were perfect the way they were, why have they continued to be improved upon? Massively expanded movepools and the additions of abilities massively changed them, more than most, if not all, forme differences do. Not to mention Pokemon like Lickilicky and Magmortar that are clearly just enhanced versions of their base forms. Tell me how any forme change compares to simply giving previously worthless Pokemon like Dugtrio and Ditto abilities like Arena Trap and Imposter. ;p

BTW, WPM: Mewtwo hasn't been able to learn Psywave since Gen 1. ;p Maybe it was Psystrike? It doesn't look like it would be a Psychic or Confusion.

The artwork's looking good, except the feet. The feet are so ugly! I really want to know why did they created "Mewthree" in the first place..

The artwork is not good. Anyone raised in the 90's and have seen the first movie in theaters has Mewtwo, (alongside nostalgia), connected to it, and would not want the original 150 touched in any way. They were perfect as they were. I can probably speak on behalf of the good majority of the Pokémon community and say this is probably the worst thing that has happened to Pokémon. I am utterly disappointed.

In the words of Peter Griffin,
"Oh my God, who the hell cares."
Seriously, this nostalgia thing is getting really annoying. For all we know this may not even be a Mewtwo form, but a new Pokemon that's related to Mewtwo. Even if it was a new form why be upset? You don't have to capture it, you don't have to transform your precious Mewtwo if you don't want to. But maybe some of us would like to do that.

^Nostalgia butthurt level: 9,001.

Seriously, how is this "the worst thing to happen to Pokémon."? They're actually helping on keeping Gen I 'mons relevant by introducing Mewtwo to the next generation of kids, which is their target audience. Not to mention that it seems there are quite a few Kanto Pokémon being shown in the footage, only further adding to my argument.

I actually like Newtwo more than Mewtwo.

If it is Mewthree then why wait till 5th 6th gen transition to release it plus how long has everybody been making jokes about Mew, Mewtwo, and there no Mewthree back in 1st gen. Not to mention the movie needs to come out before X and Y get released so more new pokemon may be shown in the movie too because most of the pokemon movies come out in December of like the same or next year from when japan get it.

i'm gonna say its a new pokemon entirely only because new alternate forms of pokemon tend to come out during the same generation. we got a new giratina and shaymin in gen 4 (platinum). new kyurem, meloetta and keldeo in gen 5 (BW2). this is an entirely new generation, it shouldnt be an alternate form at all

Here is what I currently think:

In the Pokemon X & Y Japanese logo, we saw a DNA symbol which could most likely mean that this generation will be focusing on DNA. The bad guys working in this region probably received a few samples of DNA from Mewtwo and used it to create this new Mewtwo.

I like the new forme. It doesn't ruin my childhood or my memories of the first Pokemon movie, and I've seen it probably 2000x more times than anyone else here. The new forme looks more like an alien or a Chupacabra thing to me so I like it. Actually, I didn't even really like the first Pokemon movie. I liked the Birth of Mewtwo special and Mewtwo Returns, but IMO Mewtwo Strikes Back was extremely boring. If they can expand on Mewtwo's story more, more power to them. (Though I'm sure this movie won't go into ANYTHING, just like all the others - it'll just be "Ah yes, we cloned these Genesect. Oh now here's Mewtwo. Oh look it change forme how cool googoogaga. Battle in the city, lala. Happy ending.)

The last movie I thought they put actual effort into was Arceus and the DP movies, and before then, Lucario. You can throw out all the BW movies - they were complete crap. I'm hoping they decide to get their act together for this movie, but I have had very very low expectations for Pokemon movies these past few years.

Ugh... Why'd this have to be real...T-T

Plus sides:

1) Easier to cosplay than Mewtwo
2) Slender body
3) Cool eyes and hands look kinda cool

Minus Sides:

1) Tail on the back of the head? REALLY?!
2) OMG WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT'S FEET?!
3) ...Actually, that's it. The feet and tail head are my only problems with it in the official artwork.

(Fun fact, looks like Freeza and Super Buu had a love-child.)
I don't know about you guys, but I think that move everybody is saying is Psywave is actual Psycho Cut. First one is CLEARLY Psystrike (if that isn't indication that this is a New Mewtwo From I don't know what is) which btw using against Genesect is a NICE touch. Second is clearly Energy Ball while the Third is clearly Shadow Ball!

Especially the dubs. Their voice director still sucks. Just because your target audience is kids doesn't mean you have no reason to put some god damn effort into your work. And yeah, the Keldeo movie really wasn't as great as everybody said it was.

Unown ! and ? say hi, DBKaiMagick. They debuted a generation after Unown. Spiky-Eared Abomin... Er, Spiky-Eared Pichu debuted two (and a half, really) generations after Pichu.

I feel like I'm the only one that loves Newtwo.

Yeah, no, child of the '90s and lover of the first movie here, and you can take that sentiment and shove it. I can speak for myself, thanks.

Frankly, if you're so upset at something like this, maybe you don't really like new Pokémon stuff. Maybe you just like the early games and the nostalgia. And that's okay. But don't assume that you can speak for anyone who's a fan of the new stuff, too.

I think this pretty much sums up my thoughts on this thing.

Seriously though. It's _extremely_ ugly. Such a shame. It honestly doesn't matter to me if it's a new Pokemon or a Forme. Both are so bad. There's no way that it's not related somehow to Mewtwo in some way. They're really just too similar. I would rather it not exist at all and sadly I've really never wanted that on a Pokemon as I am extremely forgiving. But this is very close to the straw breaking my camel's back.

dmaster out.

You do know that Comic Book Guy is a parody making fun of unpleasable fans who overreact to every little thing they don't agree with, right?

It would be awesome if you change that someday. :)

i'm aware of them. i say hi back. what i meant was the pokemon i mentioned can be changed amongst their forms at will. you can't change the ! and ? unowns to an A or B unown and the same applies to pichu

I think the Mewtwo or whatever it is actually looks pretty cool. But its feet are......really.....really......bad.

Yeah, feet and tail head are the ONLY things I have a problem with.

Everything else in the official artwork I'm liking.

Yeah, and unfortunately I agree with him every time. This is the first time that I can equate that with a Pokemon because this is the first one I truly hate with every fiber being of my soul. If someone likes it, that's fine. I just have the complete opposite opinion and that's fine too. I'll most likely still buy the games because I enjoy the series greatly. But I will still hate this Pokemon for its design and I'm allowed to.

dmaster out.

^Speaking of that, I really liked that we got to see the new models for some of the older pokémon (Machamp, Gyarados, even Genesect)... They look pretty nice...

Yeah, I never really liked the first movie that much, only the intro - or the birth of mewtwo as you call it (I only watch the movies in japanese or in my native language, I can't stand the american dub). Maybe it's because I saw the second movie first, but I always thought M02 was much better than the first movie... Then, I like the M03 and the DP trilogy (the Arceus movie a bit less, I don't think it was that good compared to the first two). Finally, I only like the M15 because of Kyurem really...

btw, I don't see what's wrong with the feet really... They're consisent with the rest of the design, very similar to the hands...
