(1) X/Y Pokemon Direct [9/4]

Although I like the Mega I don't think giving people the original 3 from the start was a good idea, to me it great to get those guys but it seems like genwunner fanservice and it destracts from what should be the three new starters shining moment.

I want Gamefreak to get old players to play the game because its finally so obvious that the game has been changing for years and its vastly superior to what it once was, not because we threw Charizard in there so give us your money.

to be honest I probably wont use them until later, I mean with torchic that makes 3 starters, for a lot of kids especially thats going to feel like they are forced to use them leaving only 3 space for other Pokemon, it all has an air of "ok forget all the new great things and cool new pokemon to see, we just want to feed your nostalgia".

Although I haven't played the game, so I don't really know if I will still feel this way, but right now this seems like a mistake when they could have made a special area where you can catch these guys after all your hard work not, derp, here you go 1 hour in. Im going to have to mull on it and scope out the internet's reactions.

Can be seen on the X and Y website in the Bank tab...

Also... this could be just a fluke, but a female Magnezone also on the Bank.

That other butterfly Pokemon in the picture shown on the right is Butterfree.

I'm even not sure, if Mega-Ampharos is electric-dragon for sure.

It is. You can check it on Pokémon's official website.

Not mention Kangaskhan, it was IMO tha most stupid thing, they ever created. “Mother” has nothing new on itself, although I like the idea of double-attacking, but, again, they could try some more.

The "mother" didn't change because the Mega Stone was used on the baby instead. It's not like you can use two of them on the same Pokémon.

what the hell is with that Charizard?

I actually prefer Charizard in it's Mega Evolution form. It looks more draconic, less plain and its round belly doesn't annoy me anymore. IT was disproportional with its neck.

Pokemon bank... okay, I guess, for those who have shiny colecctions, or events, of full pokedexes... I guess, considering the fact it has to be compatible with future games it made sense to do it in cloud storage instead of the 3DS. Same deal with poke transporter, it needs to act as a middleman between gen V games and the pokemon bank. Don't know why they didn't just include it as a feature in X and Y, though (yes, I know, it's obvious). I'm won't be using them anyway so...

Now, mega evos... cool.
Venusaur with thick fat + increased def and sp. def? frenzy plant just got more viable, and I think many more people will use venusaur from now on.

Charizard. looks. awesome. m*********. awesome, like an old-school dragon. I'm not a fan of the "rugged" look, but it looks much much much sleekier now (in the sugimori art; in the game? blech) and drought? and sp. attack? are they actively trying to break the game?, and if they didn't change charizard to dragon type (and come on, people can stop complaining now... drought + sp. att, guys, drought + sp. att. if it were also dragon it would be too much) that means they won't change existing types for mega evos, just add some every now and then.

And blastoise... a goatee? seriously, GF? A GOATEE? A m*********** GOATEE? that has to be the dumbest thing I've seen all week... now, an eyepatch, on the other hand... with lock on... that's a different business.
But the goatee is inconsequential, because BIG ASS CANNON! that thing is incredible, and he's got two cannons in it's hands, too... we now have our titular arms platform for the invevitable (and f******* awesome) metal gear pokemon: gotta box 'em all. solid snivy against metal gear blastoise, with accelgor as that pansy ninja raiden and scyther as f***** cyborg ninja. YES.

YAY new gardevoir sprite! and it's adorable! so tiny.

I'm really liking the new Megas, despite Charizard not being Fire/Dragon as hoped... -sob-
And for everyone complaining that they barely changed, these aren't true evolutions guys. Theyre supposed to only be slightly souped up versions of themselves.

I actually really like the Charizard design though, at the very least they justified why it's still Fire/Flying because they really emphasized the Flying aspect here. He is much more aerodynamic and lean-figured, as opposed to being much more bulky originally.
Venusaur is pretty cool along with Blastoise. The markings on Venusaur remind me somewhat of the Mewtwo clone. And also, I think they all have very good abilities, not just Charizard. Thick Fat on a tanky Pokemon that has a primary weakness to Fire and Ice? How is that not amazing?

As far as Pokemon Bank goes, I'm a bit indifferent but I'm already warming up to it. I will definitely at least make the first purchase so I can transfer as many Pokemon as I can over to X and Y, 5 dollars really isn't that big of a deal (but it does slightly irk me that we have to pay to transfer anything at all.) As far as keeping it and making annual payments, probably not unless its dirt cheap. I can't really see why I'd need that much space, maybe other people might but not me. As long as I have enough space to store all 700+ Pokemon (I always catch them and trade them all) along with at least 2 or 3 boxes to spare, then I'm good. I hope this doesnt mean they won't expand the box count to fit that just to promote this new service, because up into gen 5 they always had enough to fit just that.

Pokemon Bank? No thanks.

Mega Kanto Starter Evolutions? Cool, but two out of three failed in my eyes.

Come on. I want more info on Fairy-types. Reveal more on Electric-types (My favorite!) :(

I had someone point out you could restart the game 3 times, each time storing your starter pokemon in the bank, this would allow you to have all 6 available. It doesn't feel right, but come on, we're humans, people will do it.

Butterfree isn't gray. Not to mention it's next to Spewpa and Scatterbug.

You know what's funny about Mega Charizard, guys? Despite being "sleeker" and "less bulky"... he actually weighs MORE than regular Charizard, despite the two having the same height. LOL

Well, it's either this, or only letting you have one game ID per Bank account, making it a worse version of Pokemon Ranch. Remember how you couldn't transfer Pokemon from that into other saves? And how that made it 100% pointless? It'd be that, minus the half-amusing sim type stuff.

Butterfree doesn't have antennae on its head and it certainly isn't gray. Not to mention it's next to Spewpa and Scatterbug.

Yup, and the shape of the wings are also different.

Sounds like in my anime where people eat so efficiently they gain hundred and hundred of punds without getting any bigger thus giving them more strength and energy.

Blastoise looks incredible. Charizard should've been left untouched. Venusaur...take that stupid flower off of his forehead please.

Definitely not Butterfree. Difference in wing shape, color, and not to mention it's next to Scatterbug and Spewpa.
Butterfree did briefly come across my mind though when noticing this the first time.

Well how is he suppose to solar beam without doing a handstand, this is a convenience feature, no more do acrobatics to do moves for big ol' venasuar.

Be glad, that he doesn't receive the ground weakness and shut up, guy. What you all have with the type changing?
I'm even not sure, if Mega-Ampharos is electric-dragon for sure. I only read of its type changing once, and that was here on Poké-Beach in some thread, so I'm not if it is really oficial. And if it is, it even doesn't mean, that all megas must receive other type-combo.

MegaAmpharos is officially Electric/Dragon, and it makes less sense for it to be part Dragon than Charizard, an actual draconic Pokemon which was never given Dragon type for balancing reasons that no longer exist. Quite a missed opportunity.

Its probably male/female. It could also be a spring/winter thing, who knows?

Upon further inspection, it does appear that its wings aren't the same shape as Butterfree's. However, Vivillon doesn't have lines on its wings like that.

The lines on the white wings are what led me to the Butterfree conclusion, so give me some slack for being misled by that detail. =P

The extra weight is the extra badass.

Bolt the Cat: OK, but the only one from Kanto starters, which is retypable (IMO), is Blastoise, due to the fact, that this is the only one from the original trio, who isn't double-typed. The same reason I see in Ampharos, that have been pure type and thus could obtain secondary type, whilst Charizard and Venusaur are already double-typed.
Btw., thanks, guys, for make me sure that Amphraos gets the second type.

And to Kangaskhan: Maybe, you cannot mega evolve “two Pokémon at once”, but, seriously, guys, the mother and the child are/is one Pokémon (one number in Pokédex, you use singular, when you talk about it,…). When it wouldn't be one Pokémon, then, what abou Exeggcute? Magneton? Dugtrio? (Although, they don't have the mega forms… yet)
