Definitely not Butterfree. Difference in wing shape, color, and not to mention it's next to Scatterbug and Spewpa.

Upon further inspection, it does appear that its wings aren't the same shape as Butterfree's. However, Vivillon doesn't have lines on its wings like that.

The lines on the white wings are what led me to the Butterfree conclusion, so give me some slack for being misled by that detail. =P

I can see why you would think Butterfree. Vivillon actually does have those lines though, although they aren't very defined. Looking at this picture and the sprite, they line up the same. However, this does tell me that this recolored Vivillon doesn't have that same pixely pattern, from what I can tell...

Be glad, that he doesn't receive the ground weakness and shut up, guy. What you all have with the type changing?
I'm even not sure, if Mega-Ampharos is electric-dragon for sure. I only read of its type changing once, and that was here on Poké-Beach in some thread, so I'm not if it is really oficial. And if it is, it even doesn't mean, that all megas must receive other type-combo.

MegaAmpharos is officially Electric/Dragon, and it makes less sense for it to be part Dragon than Charizard, an actual draconic Pokemon which was never given Dragon type for balancing reasons that no longer exist. Quite a missed opportunity.

however if he was fire/dragon he would only be weak to dragon, he would be a charizard with drought that's only weak to dragon and nothing else. maybe rock and ground again but who knows, Fairies and ice type would do normal damage. by experience with competitive battling may be limited but I think that's a little OP, don't you?

Bolt the Cat: OK, but the only one from Kanto starters, which is retypable (IMO), is Blastoise, due to the fact, that this is the only one from the original trio, who isn't double-typed. The same reason I see in Ampharos, that have been pure type and thus could obtain secondary type, whilst Charizard and Venusaur are already double-typed.
Btw., thanks, guys, for make me sure that Amphraos gets the second type.

And to Kangaskhan: Maybe, you cannot mega evolve “two Pokémon at once”, but, seriously, guys, the mother and the child are/is one Pokémon (one number in Pokédex, you use singular, when you talk about it,…). When it wouldn't be one Pokémon, then, what abou Exeggcute? Magneton? Dugtrio? (Although, they don't have the mega forms… yet)

The difference between Kangaskhan and other Pokemon that are made up of multiple Pokemon is that those other Pokemon are fused together. Magnemite fuse to make Magneton, Diglett fuse to make Dugtrio, etc.

Normal evolutions are permanent and those Pokemon can no longer be separated as far as we know, so they are counted as one Pokemon.

Kangaskhan is the mother Pokemon. It is not required for a mother Kangaskhan to have a baby to be called a Kangaskhan, as we've seen in the anime. The baby is a little Kangaskhan itself, just in an earlier age, in its mother's pouch. The baby can leave the pouch and Mega Evolve, and that's when the center of attention shifts to the baby and it gets called Mega Kangaskhan, because the mother remains in the background as a regular Kangaskhan.

Mega Evolution just happens to improve upon the baby so that the mother doesn't always have to fight alone with a baby in her pouch, looking after it the whole time.

EHCOxLegend: I wrote it wrong. I mean, everyone shoul by grateful, that they don't cancelled its flying part, becaus it remains unaffectable by ground-types.
The game designers should think about how to make all part-flying or flying-like Pokémon not affected by groud moves (such as Beedrill, Venomoth,…). But at the same time, they shoul think about affection from moves like Mud Shot, because it can be “shot” in the air… I can't imagine it, but whatever.

Hey guys Serebii has a pic of a new pokemon on their front page they snagged from the clips. looks like a half sheep, half dog type thing.

Isn't it Mega Absol, if you mean the pic with the Venusaur?

Look carefully at MegaAbsol before getting to that conclusion.

OH MY ARCEUS THE MEGA KANTO STARTERS LOOK SO AMAAAAAAZING!!!!

Oh yeah, bank looks, uh, conveinent.
Didn't you guys hear that the bank doesn't allow hacked 'mons to get through?

I think it's funny that Blastoise still shoots water out of his mouth even though he has 3 canon's after he mega evolves XD
Also, I think Mega Charizard looks epic!

Does anyone know how much later in the game we get the Kanto starters? I would assume post-Elite 4.

The bank costing money bothered meat first, but I can spare $5 a year. That isn't bad at all.

The Charizard Mega is amazing. I think it is changed enough from Charizard. Venusaur isn't bad, but didn't impress me or anything. It just grew some more foliage. As for Blastoise... Sorry but don't like it very much. That huge cannon just looks ridiculous.

From what it sounds like you'll get them not long after you start the game. Basically it seems that where the demo takes place instead of mewtwo you'll get a starter.

It seemed to me that it was implied that you would get the Kanto starters close to the beginning of the game so that you could run with both a new (Kalos) starter and an old (Kanto) starter so that the game felt new and awesome but still had a feeling of nostalgia.

Pokemon Bank is a paid service with an annual fee. It will be a long-term service and will be compatible with future titles. Update: The service will cost 500 yen a year ($5). There will be a free one month trial period until January 31st. You'll apparently have to pay the annual fee after that. So you have a month to move all your old Pokemon over to X and Y if you don't want to pay the annual fee.

Pokemon Bank/Transporter is an extremely reasonable service. I don't get why there's such an uproar. You get one free month of it. If all you have is a few Pokemon to transfer from your older games, you can do that no problem and never use the service again. If you are a person who collects Pokemon or completed whole dexes, the $5 might be worth it to pay for a year of access. You don't have to pay $5 if you use your one month wisely. It's worth $5 if you want a place to store a ton of Pokemon without cluttering up in game boxes.

As for the Mega Evolutions, I'm pretty pleased with them. Venusaur is the least favorite out of the designs for me, but it was before it mega evolved too. I actually really like Mega Blastoise. Charizard gets even more awesome without being overwhelming. Actually reminds me of some fan art I created when I was younger. I feel like while many people won't completely accept some of the mega evolutions, Nintendo could have done a lot worse. This is pretty darn nice if you ask me.

Actually, Mega Venusaur gets a bigger flower, a flower on its head, two small trees, a set of differently colored giant leaves than the ones it already had, and vines.

It also went from 6'07" to 7'10" and from 220.5lbs to 342.8lbs. Mega Venusaur gained over a foot in height and over one-hundred and twenty pounds in weight.

Also, I think Mega Blastoise's cannon is cool. It says that Blastoise's original cannons fused to make the bigger one in the center and it gained the two smaller cannons on its arms. It's now more like a battle-ready tank-turtle than it ever was.

Charizard staying Fire/Flying disappointed me a bit, but the fact that it gets Drought makes it up to me. Granted, that raises the question about why Blastoise didn't get Drizzle. To be honest, I'm not quite sure what's up with Blastoise's Ability and I don't really understand what it does. Thick Fat on Venusaur eliminates 2 weakness (Ice and Fire), although it still seems a bit odd that the other 2 get some sweet Abilities while he gets something tons of other Pokemon have. However, Venusaur will now be able to stall like a boss in Drought teams so there's that.

Now for the designs:
Venusaur looks a little bit goofy to me. As someone who never was a big fan of his original design, this doesn't make me like him much more. The flower on his head seems random and nothing else has changed very much. (Grade: C+)

Now Charizard on the other hand looks absolutely SICK. He looks a whole lot sleeker and much more menacing. Wish he would've been Dragon type, but the design itself is fantastic. The spike on his head looks sweet, and the blades on his hand make him look more aerodynamic. I guess I can see why they left him at Fire/Flying. He looks like a much better flier than before and reminds me of a jet. (Grade: A)

Blastoise made me laugh a bit when I first saw it, but it's grown on me quite a bit since then. The cannons on his hands look amazing, and the giant cannon on his back looks extremely menacing (albeit a little goofy). Kind of hoped he would be Water/Steel, but that's not a big problem. It's still kind of weird that he doesn't gain a secondary type at all, though. (Grade: B+)

The Bank thing doesn't really bother me too much. $5 a year is almost nothing. A cup of frozen yogurt costs $5. I'm just glad I can transfer my shiny Charizard to X and Y.

Wait...
MEGA SHINY CHARIZARD
Brb need to go change my pants!

This looks like it could be the white Pokemon seen in the X/Y anime trailer for a split second a while back.

I'd like to see where I can find that if you know where a screenshot is. I never knew.

Darn, well this beats my discovery of the recolored Vivillon. xD I probably would have caught this too, had I not lagged so much during the presentation... probably skipped right over it (I was PO'ed because my video skipped AS SOON as Venusaur transformed.)

So this kind of looks like an... Absol preform? I don't know what else it could be. It looks too similar to Absol not to be related to it. I cant make much else of a comment on it without seeing official art or a better quality image at least.
