Skarmory could taunt him if necessary and swampert can just spam EQ/Waterfall. These aren't the only threats a hypothetical OU charizard has to face either, he'd get outsped by the likes of Garchomp and ties with non-scarf salamence. Gyarados will wall him too.

Sorry, but Taunt is bounced back by Magic Coat as well. Magic Coat has priority, so Taunt would just bounce back at Skarmory, not letting it use anything but attacks and either force it to use Brave Bird or switch, allowing Reuniclus to freely attack anything that comes in or allowing Charizard to switch back in.

Swampert won't get a chance to spam Earthquake or Waterfall when it faints due to Reuniclus using Energy Ball or Grass Knot.

Why would you keep in Charizard against a Garchomp or Gyarados in the first place? You can easily switch Charizard out for a physical wall to resist a Garchomp or Gyarados, like Ferrothorn.

If you switch him out he'll be taking sr next time he comes in, I forgot about mcs priority admittedly enough.

I'm mentioning threats like Gyarados and Garchomp because this is what he'll have to deal with in an OU environment.

I get that. I just was pointing out that there are plenty of counters to those Pokemon, and Pokemon like Reuniclus can prevent hazards from being set up while attempting to eliminate the Pokemon with the hazard-setting moves.

Having transferring from Gen 5 be part of Pokemon's online service might have been the only way they were able to make it work. Or it could be because they wanted to cut down on the amount of hacked Pokemon in online circulation (since Bank won't let you transfer them).

O_O

Yeah... Having your BW/BW2 transfers check in with the Internet is probably necessary to have them go through those hack tests, and maybe to even have them converted into different data; our notion of how big these files are could be wildly wrong if they were stupid and somehow inflated the size cartoonishly. At the very least, I think any notions of local storage are out of the window, certainly... that only leaves hope for some kind of restriction on free access to the cloud stuff, like only one box. And with the way they've announced things, especially with hat free trial, that doesn't seem too likely. :/

Since when are Mega Stones paid DLC? I've never heard anything about that.

The only "DLC" Mega Stone there is confirmed to be so far is Torchic holding Blaziken's Mega Stone, and it's free.
I think I heard on one of the news stories all the Mega Stones are going to be DLC. I could be mistaken, but I do remember hearing that.

^Why the hell are people thinking Mega Stones will be paid DLC???

Most Mega Stones will be available in-game (confirmed by the official site), with the exception of some that are related to special pokémon (starters, legendaries, stuff like that) which will probably only be distributed via events, like the event Torchic with the Blazikenite but even that is not DLC, it's a Wi-fi event just like all the others we're used to.

Unlikely. When they were introduced, it was said that finding them all will be a challenge in X and Y. The Torchic@Blazikenite is probably just part of the "hey, look, here's mega evolution and it's brand new zomg!" promotion.

Huh. Weird. I could swear I remember hearing at least some of the Mega Stones would be DLC. Disregard that little bit, then.

Let's be honest. If it were announced that XY would be $5 more expensive than a typical 3DS game, y'all wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Yes I would because that wouldn't make any sense. It wouldn't even be a case like FRLG or HGSS were it came with some random pack-in hardware to up the price.

Pokemon being the only reason to buy a 3DS, and given the fact that it is a complete overhaul of 6 ENTIRE Generations of Pokemon modeled/animated in 3D, it would make sense if it was more expensive, and it'd be worth any price..

At first I wasn't too keen on Pokemon being in 3D instead of the 2D sprites we'd come to love, but after seeing that Crobat... Omg, the animations were so fluid, it was the most realistic bat-wing flapping I'd ever seen in a game! Blew my mind.. o_0

Thw other downside to this is ifnyou have no internet you cannot access your boxes at all. They are making a HUGE mistake by making it a requirement XD.:) I hope the U.S. games have this optional because only on clouds will not work.:)

You still have your in-game box. Only the Bank/Transfer requires internet.

And lets be honest here, NO ONE doesn't have internet. This is 2013.

Even a hobo can walk into a Barnes & Nobles and get Wi-Fi... <_<

You're right. It's not like you could sit in a McDonalds for maybe 5 minutes or anything. Or, heaven forbid, going to a Starbucks. AND DARE I EVEN MENTION ITS NAME.....
WALMART. *Gasps and falls over dead*

I really like all the information given and mega charizard is just gorgeous *___* As for the pokemon bank I think it's a good idea and plus they even give you one month free so I don't see the problem.

Yeah, the only way the bank would make me furious is if they were to limit the in game PC boxes in order to promote use of the paid service. As long as I'm able to have room to catch one of every Pokemon possible. and have 2-3 boxes for traidbait, events, my team, and shinies, like I have in every other past game, I'm good.

Oh I hope not! That would seriously suck. I have 150-170 Pokemon waiting to be transferred over to XY. If there's not enough space to hold my favorites all trained up to level 50 and beyond, then what the hell man? How much space do all of those 3D models actually take up on a 3DS cart?

They're not going to seriously restrict in-game boxes lol. At least, I don't see how they could be dumb enough to do so. You'll still have at least 16, I'm guessing. When they said storage on the game is limited, they meant it's always been limited. 700+ storage slots apparently wasn't enough for some people in B/W o_O

And size constraints aren't an issue because it's not like each individual Pokemon of yours has its own 3D model data. They just reference one model per species. For example, you could have one Gogoat, or two, or none, and you still have the same amount of data being taken up for Gogoat's model data. :B

Oh I wouldnt worry about that, I'm almost positive there would be plenty enough to fit 150-170. I'm more worried about if they were to knock off just a couple of boxes, JUST enough to where I couldnt fit that last generation of Pokemon or for extra team/event/shiny space. As if they intentionally did it specifically for the people that collect every Pokemon.

Yeah should have been more specific on that. I meant everything in the game, including background stuff. I realize stuff is referenced to keep from going into insane amounts of space. 700 wasn't enough, really? I thought it was a comfortable amount, even with a ton of boxes full to the brim.

Oh I see now =P Considering I'm gonna try for a full Pokedex for the first time since Sapphire this generation, I hope they don't pull that move.
