I just had a heart attack because I'm going to have to make blanks for these :| Interesting ideas, but I miss the LV.X mechanic already. Oh maaaan.... How the heck do I blank Legend cards?! XD

Also, it's the first time in about a decade that we haven't had Weakness and Resistance "swirls".

Good luck finding art for these things. The quality of the Legends art is simply amazing and whilst realistic 2d past for Lvl Xs (They looked nice but weren't quite the same), I'll hate to see the butchered cards made on that blank.

I still object to the cruddy great Pokemon. Why don't they just go out and say they're trying to make playing more expensive?

Am I the only one who's complaining on the new Legend cards? It's very possible that you don't pull both of the pieces in a single pack, so you'll be trying to find the other half. The artwork is amazing, but does it really need to take up 3/4s of the entire card? I expect not very exciting attacks and powers/bodies or very small font. Oh well. At least with the fact that you need the other piece to play it, they probably won't be worth as much as Lv.Xs were.

And as if water decks weren't plentiful already, even more will be coming thanks to Feraligatr. I guess that's their way of bringing a bit of a broken unlimited deck to the modified format. Hey, why not reprint Professor Oak while they're at it?

Oh, yeah. And Totodile's pose reminds of the Hare Hare Yukai for some reason.

I'm a card collector so I think the LEGEND pokemon are awesome, i cant wait to get them. I think they have the best artwork yet... It's going to be exciting looking for both pieces!

Total remake of Lugia EX:

Lugia LEGEND – Water – HP130
Legend

Legend Rule: Play 2 Lugia LEGEND cards at the same time from your hand onto your Bench.

Poke-Power: Ocean Glow
You can use this power once during your turn, when this card comes into play. Look at the top 5 cards from your deck, and attach every Energy you find to this Pokemon. Discard the remaining cards.

[R][W][L] Elemental Blast: 200 damage. Discard 1 Fire Energy, 1 Water Energy, and 1 Lightning Energy attached to this Pokemon.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 1

The artwork is SO AMAZING though... And Shiny Gyrados that evolves from something? Huh?

Ironically, guess which generation introduced them? :p

Though I have to say, the 'LEGEND' cards really look, well, legendary. I don't play the TCG, but I want them anyway :\

Also, loving the placement of the pre-evolution icon. Back to the top left corner, where it started out :D

The Typhlosion kind of reminds me of the Typhlosion EX from Unseen Forces by it's attack.

This set looks really cool!

question?

Ho-oh's body says you would count each energy attached as a fire energy.
if you used Sceptile GE to double plant energies, could you use that attack using two plant energies?

Two things. First, the art for Lugia and Ho-oh is the best art I have ever seen on a Pokémon card ever. Second, I'd have preferred them not be split between two cards, but not a huge deal really. Suppose it's entirely possible they'll come out with box topper versions of them in one large card. That'd be nice.

GENIUS. I don't know enough about card rulings to know if this would work, but if it does, then this is brilliant!

The double-card thing makes me think of Magic... I am not sure how I feel about the game mechanics changing to like this. It's really not necessary to keep the game interesting, in my opinion, and it makes things kind of gimmicky in the end.

But then again... It's the Pokémon TCG. It just may be the very definition of gimmicky!

The card art for Lugia and Ho-Oh are gorgeous... I wonder what other legendaries will get this treatment. Mew? Eh? EHH?

Sceptile only doubles Energy for {G} Pokemon. Ho-Oh is clearly not a {G} Pokemon, so...

I don't like these new cards. They look messy and terrible. Here's hoping that the English versions don't look as bad.

I'm not liking all these changes... All this Great Pokémon and Legend cards thing... just doesn't look like the Pokémon TCG anymore that I know since '98... Why did they stop with the Lv.X's? It's the first time I see them changing the game with new mechanics and cards when there's not even a new generation coming out... why couldn't they stick with the lv.x's until the 5th generation? then, they could make these great pokémon and legend cards to the new pokémon... and I liked the SP's too but it seems there will be no more...

And why did they change the weakness to +10,+20, etc. if they were going to change it back to x2? that's just nonsense...

I don't know if you noticed but the english versions of japanese cards are basically the same... there won't be any change in the cards' appearance when the set comes to America.... (except languange)

This sums up my initial feelings about this set. I didn't even notice that all the Pokemon had x2 Weakness until you said something about it.

Also, did anybody see the translations for the promos? I think the Totodile is a bit on the cheap side for a Basic Pokemon that has a stage 2 form. A possible 90 damage for 3 energy, IMO, is amazing on those kinds of Basic Pokemon.

I can already see it; the Feraligatr donk. Put down a couple Crobat G's, evolve into Feraligatr, play Uxie, attach all those energies, and repeat until you run out of Uxies. That's a bunch of damage right there.

Oh, yeah. And there's a Dunsparce in this set. Awesome. If they don't make a Dunsprace LEGEND, I don't know what I'll do...

lol, but they arent gonna be playable soon. After Arceus, then we move to HGSS, with a whole new thing. So, its gonna be harder. ESPECIALLY WITH THE X2 WEAKNESS ON THE BASIC STARTERS!!!!
*starts yelling*

Why is everyone complaining about the Great Pokemon, and Legends? If you ask me they have some of THE BEST art EVER to be seen on a card! Not to mention it's not like they've just changed all weakness to X2, that's how it used to be. Can't stand the old cards? ;P

PS: Jon, stop making me yell, when I saw those Legends.... Let's cut that part out. :D
