(2) New BW Rules, Black and White Collection Images [10/30]

these changes are perfectly fine and actually balances out the game as its intended for hgss and onwards.
hopefully, with the new rotation, lost world stadium will be released, giving players more variety for the new format

Ok heres the 1 thing that really ticks me off the most. Its that dumb stupid new rare candy rule and trainers first thing. You know what, i just hate mostly all the new changes theyre "going" to make. Really if it's MD-on when black and white SP's will dominate even more with evolutions having to deal with that dumb stupid new rare candy rule and SP's being able to use poke turn and sp radar on there first freakin turn (cmon nintendo, really?!). But if it's HGSS-on then i just lost alot of sets and that makes rotation in-consistent and un-promising heck arcues hasnt even been out for a year yet and there already talking about its rotation. You know i was perfectly fine with 4 sets out 4 sets in a year thing. But black and white is just going to screw alot things over. I hope pokemon play deals with this with the players in mind.

Honestly, I hope Lost World NEVER sees release in the states.

I do agree with the rules. There have been a number of times I was donked purely for going first. If I had not gone first, I would have at least lasted beyond turn one. Now with the trainers being played on first turn, I can more than likely avoid that.

Also the Rare Candy change brings a smile to my face as it slows down a lot of decks such as Kingra, T-Tar, etc.

Kingra has been dominating in the metagame where I live. It wins 60% of the BRs and Cities in MS.

Well I'll add my 2 cents...

1) Rare candy - The rule is good as long as it is implemented HGSS-on. If there are no SPs or BTS, the game will return to a slower manageable state and this rule will keep most donk deck from arising barring any other major changes. However, if the rule is implemented in our current format, I'm grabbing Luxchomp or Gyarados and so will everyone else.

2) Trainers and Supporters on first turn. Again this is not horrible as long as its HGSS-on. Then BTS will be gone and great starters like sableye. I fear the day sableye can go first for sure, use a supporter and as many trainers as it likes and donk regularly. Especially using seeker first turn...

I think the rules make plenty of sense being able to use "trainer's" first turn but rare candy being less broken. I think people are freaking out because they think the rules will be imposed when BW comes out, and i dont know if thats true or not, but i highly doubt it... it makes no sense.

These rules are for the Japanese metagame which is HGSS-BW. these rules were made for HGSS-BW and so we can expect the same here in the US.
these rules make sense, and helps the metagame. i like how they are slowing down the game which allows more diverse/rouge decks to be playable

In my opinion, the rules wont be applied to the US/UK metagame until either the first BW set is released or until the next rotation.

The Next rotation will rotate a HUGE chunk of SP power (Energy Gain, Crobat G, Poke-Turn, Cyrus, Dialga G). Making them almost not worth being played anymore (Especially since Rapidash autowins against them since Dialga G would be gone).

So I wouldn't mind it happening after the next rotation (Which I think it probably will be).

Wow its soo annoying how everyone is complaining about something thats happening in Japan.

"SP will be sooo broken!" "Rare candy is useless now!" "Sableye will dominate!"

There must be more kids on this site than I thought, because all of you guys are whinning about something thats not even going to happen. THIS IS FOR HGSS ON!!!!! What do you people not understand about that???

I for one am happy with this change. It actually allows you to carry out a stategy without worrying that you'll never make it past the first turn.

Wow I was thinking of making a new Jalorda Deck that ran on RC t1 but noooo they had to ruin RCs purpose... I need the nuclear warheads codes to make my anger go away...lol
@ Golden Thumb What about Donphan and Jumpluff two of the greatest donk decks.[/align]

d00d y so srs? Wii play unltd huur.

DNA makes good points. I'd personally love to come back to base set and start anew. Pokemon has gotten too fast, and I kinda don't like it; although, base set trainers can't be called slow and tactical. Lass is still hot.

Lost World will be coming to the states, that I am sure of.
LXF, I was merely making a premonition, not a point. I mean, I'm guessing because of the revamp that the next rotation might end up being BW-on (unlikely, but no one predicted MD-on for the current format, did they?), but even so, who's to say what will happen next?

Rare Candy change isn't that big of a deal. We can work around it rather easily. Great Ball change is...good, but downright bizarre and imo unnecessary. (Then again, they could just have reprinted Pokemon Breeder.)

Why is everyone saying they should just reprint Pokemon Breeder, that would not solve any issues that would come up with this new rotation and Breeder would inevitably be a supporter.

Anyway this whining is in my opinion rather absurd. Where yes the lose of Rare Candy's playing on first turn effect will surely be missed it is completely understandable, and considering Japan's new rotation, it is a really good move. Donks and other speed issues have been an issue ever since Machamp if not earlier, and this seriously irritated plenty of players, because who wants to lose first turn, no one. These changes are meant to slow the game down a little bit, and just because Rare Candy isn't playable first turn doesn't mean it suddenly pulled a 'Bill' on us, a single turn wait generally won't kill a deck, unless the opponent runs something that snipes.

I never even looked at the card images - just the new ruleset. I drew my conclusions from that.

I disagree with the bit I just italicized (for emphasis). If Rare Candy was created to be a better Pokemon Breeder, then why on earth is Rare Candy still a Trainer card? Why would Breeder become a Supporter if, after the BW ruleset is released, Candy and Breeder will have practically identical effects? I'd like you to explain your reasoning.

The reason is simply because Pokemon Breeder would be a character which has translated into 'supporter' since the E series, and Rare Candy was probably an attempt to not only reinvent Breeder in a non-supporter fashion, but include a well known item associated with the games into the TCG. I'm not saying that there's much difference between the two now, but Pokemon loves its consistency. Case and point Bill which was once a Trainer was turned into a supporter partly because Bill himself is a character. (The fact that it was a draw card with little restrictions helped in this decision I'm sure.)

Your point is well taken.

I think that, If they did reprint Pokemon Breeder in any way, that they would make it a supporter. But it wouldn't have the rule that Rare candy can't be played on the first turn or on a pokemon you just played. That would use up your supporter for the turn, and it would give that tiny speed kick that many decks need. It's not likely, but it's not impossible.
