(2) New Evolutions, XY Anime [9/19]

Interesting interview here: http://www.eurogamer.pt/articles/2013-09-19-exclusivo-pokemon-x-and-y-entrevista-com-a-gamefreak

Game Freak's graphic designer Yoshida told the interviewer his favorite pokémon is Froakie, because of the way it evolves. It's spectacular. I'm looking forward to seeing that now. xD

I find it interesting that Masuda says there MIGHT be a easier way to get shinies in XY. =O Yoshida said they tried to make shiny pokémon's color to really stand out.

Another interesting bit Masuda told was that there will be great variety in the pokémon that can be found in the wild and the idea is that each time you enter the tall grass, you find a different pokémon. Also, depending on the color of the flowers in the tall grass, the ratio for the pokémon encounters and their types are different.

Love the fossils on this gen! Easily some of the best. The only thing that bothers me is Tyrantrum's "beard"? thingy. Remove that and get pure awesomeness.

He's a "King", obviously a king needs to have a crown, a beard, and a badass fur cape, all of which is apparent in Tyrantrums design. Besides he is the "Chin" Pokemon, well not literally, but still, so he needs some chin-iness... :p

The new anime looks WAY better than best wishes. C'mon anything beats Cilan (sorry bro). And the trailer seems to subtly hint at Mega Garchomp it would seem...

Yeah that beard bothers me too but its not too bad the official art makes it look weird in game it looks cool. And regarding the anime the thing I believe that because Ash and Serena are childhood friends and ash being in the same timeline with Red and all it might hint to a R/S/E remake...although I could be wrong.

Oh, thanks! That made me love Tyrantrum design even more. At first I thought the spiked it had above its eyes looked a bit to similar to Groudon, but yeah its probably supposed to be a crown so now it makes a lot more sense! :) The "fur cape" could be feathers thought, since many dinosaurs had feathers :)

The design of Tyrantrum is easily one of the greatest designs for fossil pokemon yet, I love it (especially those arms, AWW IT'S SO CUTE <3). Tyrantrum and Aurorus also remind of stereotypical RPG's, just like the starters this generation seem to be based on the three stereotypical classes of RPG's. Tyrantrum is an absolute dictator, an irrational, always angry tyrant. The theme of an evil king (or queen) is present in many RPG's. Aurorus seems to be the calm, rational queen (or king), a theme which is also often found in RPG's.

I get a major Groudon vibe from Tyrantrum, which is a good thing. Also love how they incorporated royal attire into that evolution line, with the neck ruffs and whatnot

oh my god
This makes so much sense its unreal

its already slightly present in their types
Dragon is often thought of as regal, yet their attacks often have references to brutality/rage in them
Ice is cool and calm, and its frills will probably be able to calm Pokemon down (or something along those lines)

they also bring the beauty/ugliness thing back in
-Aurorus has beautiful sails reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis or something (its even in the name)
-Tyrantrum is rough and spiky, and has ugly rages

I also like how the fossils are more directed to boys/girls... with past gens they've never really had this before.
Tyrantrum is the badass T-Rex that every boy (and some girls) will pick
Aurorus is the pretty, cute(well at least Amaura is kinda cute) thing, something that girls generally like

Yeah, I was thinking of feathers too when I saw that "cape." Especially if that Realistic Pokemon guy on DeviantArt made a Tyrantrum pic, I was thinking he'd make the cape feathers..

As for the Anime, why does Nurse Joy look SOOO much younger? Before she looked like 24, now she looks 12... o_0

Some good looking 'mons, good job. And cleverness of the names and design are what really pleases me.
Will Ash finally get a girl?

- omgtyrantrumomgallofmyyesisinorderomg
-The Anime just looks overall better. Looking forward to it!
-What's up with Flabébé in the poster?
-YAY! It seems that Ash will be getting Froakie!

Only if they can be caught with pokeballs.

Aurorus... yes, yes, this pleases me, gamefreak. You managed to turn ugly amargasaurus into not only a cute, beautiful and peaceful fossil, but an ice type to boot, with a useful ability and a move that at least can compensate for its rock type.

Tyrantrum is cool too, whatever (just kidding; it's great too, really drives home the lizard tyrant king stuff).

My word, those new fossil Pokemon are silly beyond silly. It's quickly turning Gen 6 into the generation you shouldn't take seriously. And it's doing a fine job of that; I seem to be laughing at least once with every new reveal they've made.

The best is still Braixen's animation, I cannot see it using it's little stick without laughing my ass off.

That said I love both of them, they both just look really awesome. I'm still getting Tyrunt, since I've always wanted a T-Rex fossil pokemon

Silly? Funny? What are you talking about? o_0

So far everything is REALLY cool looking. Quite possibly the best Generation yet! :p

I wonder if ash is going to own all the starters, or if the starters will be split between 3 of the 4 characters like in Generation 3?

Well Serena is bound to pick one, I personally think Fennekin is likely for her.

That would logically leave Chespin, maybe it could be Bonnie's Pokemon?
I can see it being the friendly Pokemon that likes to play and everything, perfect for a young girl like Bonnie.
Maybe if it does become Grass/Dark then it could be one of those typical really-nasty-but-soft-for-its-owner type thing.
