Yeah I saw the first goal the USA made, I feel sorry for the very same player who scored the goal he got injured :( Perhaps he should've rested instead of carrying on. Ghana players were kinda rough. I like the US national Soccer squad, it's a mesh of players with different ethnic backround, representing USA like Native american, German, Puerto Rican, Columbian, African soccer players that's the best soccer squad!

Ghana and the States luckily gave me a break from the disappointing Iran vs Nigeria game. Hopefully we won't see many like it in this Cup...
And today Brasil plays again. With Mexico, no less. I'm eager to see that match.

I'm eager towards Costa Rica vs Italy, it'll be a very interesting match after what happened vs Uruguay. Whoever wins is practically in the Knockouts. :D Go, Costa Rica!! :D

The match with Germany and Portugal (4-0) was so much fun to watch! Well, from a German fan's perspective. ^.^

Is it just me, or is it fun to see Christiano Ronaldo get shut out? Portugal's performance was really poor and embarrassing to watch. Will they actually make it out of the group, especially now that the US seems to have their stuff in order and Portugal is down 3 men for the next match?

Germany had a great start. I just hope they can keep this up. Tomas Mueller had a great night with a hat trick. Perhaps a candidate for the Golden Boot?

I can't wait for the match between Russia and South Korea. 대한민국 화이팅 ! (Taehanminguk fighting!)

Ronaldo's face was priceless. I hate him with a passion and consider him one of the worst players in terms of attitude and arrogance. He looked so helpless in the match against Germany... so much for the big star.

Spain has been eliminated with another disappointing performance against a very powerful Chile, while the Netherlands won against an impressive Australia, meaning that this group has already been decided. Croatia dominated the field against Cameroon, who are down for the count. With Brasil vs Mexico ending in a draw, the next round decides everything for this group. South Korea proved they're not just guests by tying against Russia.
As I'm writing this, Columbia vs Cote d' Ivoire is at 0-0, close to the end of the first half. Urugay vs England and Greece vs Japan are up next.

Spain got KO'ed so bad by Holland/Netherlands, Chile just came in and beat up a team that may not have had their heart in it after that crushing blowout lose the game prior.

Which kind of sucks, I think I had Spain getting to the finals only to lose to Brazil. But, hey. This is why they play the games for real and not on paper.

I was watching the Spain-Chille game with my friend, as was super pumped when Chille won. My friend however, was upset because she thought Spain was the "hottest team" xD

So excited for the USA-Portugal game. Time to break out my new USA jersey :D

England is now also eliminated after losing to both Italy and Uruguay. Tomorrow's game is not strictly determinant, bu whoever wins between Costa Rica and Italy just needs to tie next week to secure advancing to the knockouts.

In all honesty, Germany's blowout of Portugal was the best thing that could've happened to the USA. If the USA can beat/draw Portugal, they should have their ticket to the second round punched, regardless of what happens when the Americans face the Germans in their third and final group game.

If you said that the Americans would have a good chance to get out of the "Group of Death", I'd have said you're crazy. But, the USA controls their own destiny.

Ronaldo needs to go take a seat on a bench next to LeBron James....

OT: Interesting World Cup to say the least. Kind of weird to see Spain bow out so early. Their D is terrible w/out Puyol.

I'm sorta dissapointed in Ghana. I picked them to be a darkhorse team, but was unaware that they have a different coach than the one they had last world cup. They didn't look anything like the team that knocked out the US last WC, and Asamoah Gyan needs to be a beast like he was in the 2010 WC and carry the team. Hopefully they beat Ronaldo and tie with Germany, and squeek in to the next round.

An interesting Urugay vs England match, with England being eliminated. Too bad. I don't like Urugay much. Too dirty.
Japan vs Greece was what I would expect from my country: boring. Technically, both teams still have a chance though.

Spain WAS the "hottest team" years ago. Now, not so much anymore. The 2006 WC had some of the best looking men. Too bad that most have retired or are now benchwarmers.:(

Chaos Jackal summer it up. Nothing quite degrading as inviting a girl to your place to watch soccer with you, just to have her rave over the people on screen >.<

Darn, Ghana had a shot to make it 3-1. They need to fix their corner defense, it has cost them 3 points in 2 games already...

Ah, well this US vs Portugal game just got more interesting.

2-2 Germany v Ghana

Germany could have done better against Ghana. They seemed really lacking until Schweinsteiger and Klose came on (still don't know why they are "benchwarmers" at this WC. And, where is Podolski?). Kudos to Klose for getting his 15th WC goal - tied with Brazil's Ronaldo for first place amongst WC goal scorers. And, Klose's goal was a lovely touch into the box.

I hope Mueller is okay, after that nasty and bloody pummel in the last few second of the game. That must have hurt. Auch! Hopefully, he can make the next match.

I can't wait until the USA v Germany match. Although I am an American, I hope that Germany wins. I think they can go all the way. Especially, if they utilize Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger is on the bench because he still isn't 100% from the injuries he's suffered in the past year and a half. Klose is probably there because he's lost a step. Sure, he's almost guaranteed to give you a goal per match, but teams aren't willing to use up one roster space on the starting lineup for a guy that is only good at being at the right place at the right time... Look at what's happened to Mexico's Chicharito Hernandez. He's basically a younger version of Klose, where what he does best is find the open spot in the other team's defense, and push in the ball for the easy goal. Yet, he hasn't scored now in the last 9 matches with the national team (after starting on a white-hot pace scoring goals for Mexico), and since he doesn't do much other than push in the ball when the defense falls asleep, he's found a spot waiting for him on Mexico's bench...

I'm with you on Germany beating the US though... but only because that gives Ghana some hope to advance to the next round :p

Argentina managed to beat Iran in the end, after an annoying game where the Iranians did all they could to lock the stadium. Right now, Nigeria is ahead of Bosnia, meaning that their possible victory eliminates Bosnia and that Iran still has a chance to advance if they win against Bosnia, factoring a Nigeria defeat against Argentina.

Nigeria is only winning due to two controversial referee calls. I'm not a fan of anyone in this group, so I don't have a preference on who should advance. I just see these teams as cannon fodder for the round of 16, unfortunately.

Edit: However, with the way this WC has progressed, I wouldn't be surprised if one of these teams go quite a way.
