2014 World Cup in Brazil

Obviously Costa Rica will win this World Cup :D They are such an interesting contestant, and its impressive how they have managed to win all of the games in their group. I also want Ghana and Chile to advance (interesting countries with an interesting play-style).

I want Germany out as soon as possible. They are so annoying with their overpowered squad, and I generally think most of their players are douchebags (Boateng, Müller etc.) The only german player i LOVE is Marco Reus, but OFC he had to get injured D:

Have you seen the footage of the Costa Rican celebration in San José yesterday, or from the first match vs.Uruguay? Well, imagine that at least x10 times and in 20 more places. Costa Rica would disappear completely from the map AFTER the booze runs out in stores. xD But seeing my country win the Cup they entered as "The Underdogs" would be so amazing... :'D
 
I was pretty much heart broken, when we lost against Uruguay. As a very passionate Arsenal and England fan, I almost went to tears.

I feel for you man. It's tough, waiting for 4 years and seeing that happen to your team...

I was pretty bummed out after the Netherlands knocked out Brazil in the last world cup :/
 
USA playing really good against Portugal. After letting a gimmie goal in the first 10 minutes, they've now outscored the Portuguese 2-0.

If they can hold on to win, they'll have their ticket to the Knockout Round punched, regardless of what happens against Germany.
 
2-2 USA v Portugal

The US actually played very well today. I was expecting Portugal to do better, even though Ronaldo is injured. The Portuguese goal in the last few seconds was disappointing. The US deserved to have the win. The whole group has opened up again. US v Germany will be very interesting to watch.

4-2 Algeria v South Korea

The first half was embarrassing to watch, as a fan of SK. Thankfully, they were able to get a bit of their act together for the second half. Unfortunately, it would have been near impossible to win this one, after Algeria's 3 goals in the first half (and SK records show that they've never had more than 2 goals at the WC). SK still has a chance, especially since Belgium (their next opponent) has already advanced and will likely be bringing out much of their second stringers. I am still hopeful for a SK advancement into the round of 16...but they really need to bring their A game.
 
On a side note, Algeria destroyed Korea, while Belgium secured their spot in the next round by winning against Russia.

I KNOW. They were 20 seconds away from winning but had the win stolen away.

They're not dead yet, they just have to beat/draw the Germans and they can advance.

If they lose, they'll need a lot of help in the Ghana/Portugal match.
 
Argh! My sister and I was so disappointed. USA deserved to have the win, but...gah! Portugal was lucky. >.>
 
Can't believe how close US was to winning this and advancing. GRRR!

If it just wasn't for their defense breaking apart at the last minute, they could have held on to their win. :\
 
I hope Ghana beats the craps out of Portugal, so they can calm my rage, but at least USA team isn't dead yet, we still have hope.
 
Ladies and gentlemen, that's what's known as a CHHHOOOOKE! Just when I thought Ronaldo was soccer's version of Peyton Manning or LeBron James, he comes through with that clutch assist for the tying goal.. and the US choked lol. Ghana should wrap this up by beating Ronalda's squad and advancing. Just hope Germany doesn't play for the tie.
 
Luis Suarez bites someone again! Seriously?

This time, he bit Giorgio Chiellini in the Uruguay v Italy match. Italy really needed to win/tie this match to advance to the round of 16. However, they went down a man early in the second half due to a red card. I was kinda pulling for Italy to keep the game tied. However, just after the non-red/yellow-carded bite (should have been red!), Uruguay scores.

Hopefully, Suarez won't be seeing another WC match. This kind of offense is detestable. Even though footage is fun to watch, much like the Zinedine Zidane head butt, it should not be allowed or even applauded. Some fans of Uruguay applauded Luis Suarez as he came off the pitch at the end of the game. Something is seriously wrong with this.

So, Costa Rica and Uruguay advance to the next round. Latin American counties are doing well at this WC. For the next group, I'm hoping for a Japan miracle, so that they can get out of the group. ^.^

My goodness, so many violence left, right, and center.

By the way, is Suarez a shark? (Seriously though, he's a idiot and he's acting like 5 years old. Did he realize this is an international match and that kind of behavior is obviously not a good thing for the next generation/role models/viewers/Italians.)

Poor Italians.

It was such a brutal game. It seemed like every other play someone was down on the ground. Apparently, Suarez is nicknamed "the cannibal." It fits.
 
Low blow by Suarez, the biting was unneeded and showed how dirty and immature Suarez can be. "The Cannibal" bites again and bites Italy out of the World Cup.

Nawww we want a tie. If they tie then we (the USA) move on. If the point difference is one we (the USA) move on. We don't want anyone to beat the crap out of each other in that game.

For the first time every in World Cup history, Greece will be participating in the Knockout Round. Great for Greece taking advantage of the situation and beating Ivory Coast, getting the 3 pts. and advancing past Group Play.
