Of course, Costa Rica vs Greece and Mexico vs Netherlands! XD

Hopefully Costa Rica wins. A Mexico win would be pretty cool too.

As I said before, Costa Rica wouldn't survive a Quarter Finals classification in terms of celebration. :p And yeah, I hardly see Mexico beating Netherlands, although it's possible. Still, if we(Costa Rica) get kicked out in the Quarter Finals, I'd rather it be against Netherlands than Mexico, TBH.

Thank goodness Luis Suarez got a ban and a fine from FIFA after his "vampire bite." This probably means goodbye to Uruguay during the round of 16.

I'm disappointed in South Korea. They definately have better in them, but they just couldn't get it together. I suspect a better run in Russia in 2016, near home.

I'm glad that the US made it to the next round, and I think that they just might be able to beat Belgium, who is doing fantastic. US actually might have a chance at getting to the Semifinals, considering whom their next opponents might be. But, I won't be too upset if they lose.

Germany should definately win against Algeria. I am looking forward to that match. I really enjoyed the Germany v USA match today. Germany just kept on attacking. ^.^ I am actually surprised that there were not more goals for either side. A Klose goal would have been great. Hopefully, he will get one before the tournament is done. I think Loewe did well by brining out Schweinsteiger and Podolski as starters (man, I have missed them).

The US was very lax against Germany. Lucky Portugal topped Ghana and Germany didn't pour it on, although Germany would've needed to pour it on to give Portugal any chance to advance.

But, I think when they got their goal, they also played lax, knowing they had their ticket punched and it allowed the US to follow them to the Round of 16.

I don't think that Mexico has it in them to beat the Netherlands. The Netherlands is one of the best teams and is doing really well. Mexico would need more than luck to win. I expect the Netherlands to get to the final. Winning that, however, is another matter.

Australia was beating the Netherlands 2-1.... surely Mexico is a 1000000% better than Australia, and can actually finish the job unlike Australia. I predict a 2-1 Mexico win, in E.T. (Chicharito scores in the 117th minute).

Hmm Netherlands have a better shot at beating Costa Rica by 2+ goals than Mexico. I'd take my chances against Mexico.

I doubt that my country has the nerve to beat Costa Rica, however I can't say I don't hope they win. And Mexico hopefully will get eliminated. I don't like their team and the style they have adopted this year, and I'd rather have them out. Plus, the Netherlands need to get to the final and lose (as they typically do).

Well, we've all seen that Costa Rica, if it gets vs the Netherlands, won't be that piece of cake. Remember he was first in a group with 3 World Champions and left out 2 of them in the way. That's a match I'll be very eager to, whether my team wins or not. :D

I don't think the Dutch will get past both Mexico and Brazil. I'm sure all of Brazil still remembers the Orange ending Brazil's 2010 WC hopes, and the stadium will be pretty wild, w/ what I expect to be almost the whole stadium backing Brazil. Add homefield advantage to the equation, and Brazil should beat the Netherlands.

What's wrong with Mexico's team? Lol.

Also, notice how Mexico is quietly peaking at the right time (after barely qualifying for the WC). Don't say I didn't tell you so when they end up beating the Dutch :p

A France vs Germany match seems inevitable. Should be the best game of this Cup.

Key word is "was"; that penalty shot was cheap and we still cleaned the Socceroos out in the end (even though they have the best team name). I expect Oranje to make it past Mexico (and I'll be cheering the whole way), though Brazil is another matter... though I can't wait to see that Oranje/Brazil game. :3

Even though Brazil is playing on home turf, I'm not sure if they can win. And, playing on home turf doesn't guarantee a win, just look at Germany playing in Germany in 2006. If I recall, they were one of the favorites to win. Brazil is not the team they once were, that could pull off multiple WC wins. Frankly, there are just better teams out there playing right now.

I'm not so sure about that. This Brazil, while maybe not the best ever, is still a good team, and unlike the majority of Brazilian teams throughout history, this one has a focus on defense rather than offense. David Luiz is for me the best player until now in the Cup alongside Arjen Robben. Brazil may not be outstanding, but it's still a very powerful team.

I think Brazil can advance all the way to the World Cup final. Just play soccer at a fast pace, but not being too overly aggressive and you can run the table.

Like I said, if Mexico goes up by one goal on the Netherlands, don't expect them to fall apart like Australia did. Their defense and goal keeper are legit.

A very exciting game, it was very even! I hope the rest of the matches in this round are as exciting as this one! :D

Yes, hopefully! Wonder if Colombia will take advantage of Suarez's absence from this game.

Wow, exciting finish to the Chile/Brazil game!

Brazil won by maybe about a couple of degrees. Had that ball ricocheted a different direction, it may have been tied and forced a Sudden Death match.

Brazil/Chile match was too intense, and exciting, and longest of all matches. Best match I've had ever watched. :)

I haven't been keeping up too much with the World Cup, but my interest has definitely increased knowing that France and Algeria are both in the round of 16. Even though I live in the US, I'm half Algerian and I was born in France, you see. Algeria vs. Russia was the first game I watched this year and I was very happy to see Algeria tie and move on. I'm glad Algeria has finally managed to make it this far so they can have a shot at revenge against Germany on Monday, after the unjust events of 1982. I look forward to that game as well as France vs. Nigeria on the same day. Naturally I'll be rooting for both, but unfortunately if they both win then they will playing each other next and I just won't know who to root for hahaha. I do hope that France can win again after the disappointing loss in finals in 2006, and of course I would also love Algeria to make it far or even win. I want people to actually know that Algeria is a country so they stop getting confused when I tell them I'm Algerian and wondering why I'm white haha.

The Dutch were pushed to the brink, but got 2 goals (including 1 on a PK in Stoppage Time) in 20 minutes to eek past Mexico, 2-1.

Holland will play the Costa Rica/Greece winner in the next round.
