I seriously can't understand the hate of most people towards the Netherlands.
The team in no way did advance against Costa Rica thanks to flops... Neither did the ref make more than one or two wrong calls, something that every ref does. Nor did the linesman forget about offsides. The Netherlands simply played better throughout the match. Costa Rica pulled an amazing defensive play backed by a very skilled goalkeeper, and as such they managed to get to penalties, but they were poor offensively and I can't see where they were treated unfair. Krul did what he was supposed to do, and his antics were nothing compared to those of Navas, who, with all his skill as a goalkeeper, acted like injured, walked around like there was a whole lifetime ahead and generally delayed the match in any possible way against both Greece and the Netherlands. Robben made some impressive dives, but that doesn't mean there wasn't a foul where he made them. Plus, he played an amazing match. Costa Rica wasn't as strong as the Netherlands, and that was evident yesterday. They did what they could, and took the game in the only scenario where there was a possibility to win: penalties. And they lost. Simple as that. No flops, no antics, no bad refs. And while I understand why Costa Rica played like they played and I respect their style, it doesn't change the fact that it kinda kills football...
I'm hoping for a Brazil vs Netherlands final, although that seems kinda hard. The Netherlands can certainly defeat Argentina, but Brazil without Silva and Neymar will find themselves with their backs against the wall... remains to be seen.
