a small fraction of what I would like to dedicate to joy is however mulling over why the 5th gen games aren't on the DS's successor. This severely damages their possibilities for being something really fresh in terms of originality.

that isn’t entirely true that it damages there possibilities for freshness. game freak didn’t really have a handle on the ds when they were working on the diamond and pearl engine, heart gold and soul silver are no different they added some improvements.

considering that only 1 game (abbreviated ASH) in existence so far has used a 512MB ds cart , and now another is coming (Ninokuni: The Another World), and these new Pokémon games can also use it. but no one other than Nintendo knows the exact limit these carts can reach.

if you are talking about a graphical level (polygons not art style) d/p/pt/hg/ss are definitely not the best on ds.
these rpg's

final fantasy 3
final fantasy 4
final fantasy crystal chronicles rings of fates
final fantasy crystal chronicles echoes of time
tales of innocence (best graphics on ds imo, but only in Japan for now)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD9VtMplz48
Saga2
Golden sun ds (from what I’ve seen looks great)
phantasy star zero
dragon quest monster joker and now a joker 2 is coming
dragon quest IX
tails of tempest
I could keep the list going lol kingdom hearts etc...

so if they truly want to change the format of these new Pokémon’s which there was talk they wanted a more fluid battle system, and no doubt increase the graphics, 3d battles possibly. I think it’s is clearly possible if they have been working on these games for 4 years now on a new engine.

plus a successor has only been rumored , "high resolution graphics and motion" iwata stated doesn’t mean a lot lol, "high resolution could merely state the resolution of the screens are better possible on where psp is or even better it doesn’t entirely mean High def. and motion woo pie Dee do, we have seen motion on a handheld in a tony hawk game for ds and wario ware twisted for gba.

Don't get me wrong though I could come up with great gameplay with the motion. you could control the pokemon around in a 3d battle field and the motion could be used to dodge attacks similar to the anime, of course there would have to be a probabilty algorithim added in as u cant always dodge or if you have a condition you can dodge as far or as well but this would also fall into how sensative the motion is , how does it react to your movement how far do u have to move the ds to the point of making it as safe as possible so a little kid doesnt fling it at someone or a wall breaking it.

now the other rumor was that nvidia is producing tegra for the next ds that’s cool there also producing a chip for the next playstation.

usually when Nintendo announces a console it still takes a year and a half just to come out in Japan and possibly 6 months for the rest of the world after that. if a ds2 were announced at e3 we wouldn’t see it in Japan until winter 2011, and we would get it around April, may, June 2012, but if they announce the name of if only at their conference around tgs (Tokyo game show) we would then see it at e3 and it would still come out winter 2011 maybe for a world wide release.

but if they announce one now sales will drop and people who bought dsi's would feel ripped because there are only about 2 or 3 retail dsi games, barely any ds enhanced carts which add more features when in a dsi, and the dsi ware store is lack luster with 3-4 decent titles on it, and there is no use for a dsi exclusive cart as the sizes are still the same, but dsi does infact allow to switch carts while playing and the ds does not. if they did that then the would ignore the 110 million ds owners, for the 15 million dsi/xl owners. it would just be better for dsi enhanced carts to allow the dsi users to have some functions but not ignore the 110 milliion ds owners at the same time.

as i said dsi can swap carts just in case there are size constraints, but nintendo is the only one that knows the true size of a ds cart so far we know 512MB, but they could allow possibly go up to 1GB the game would just have 10 second loading times. through out. if they go up to 1GB it is already enough to not even utilize cart swapping.

thats all xD

I LOVE the concept of this...
The darkrai/cresselia looks excellent, also w/ Mew being a prime that prolly means that eventually my favorite pokemon, Mewtwo, will get one, so I love this set...

Ok, I guess I can't avoid a huge post now that there are five stories to comment on.

The new Promos are great, especially the one searching for the Legend Parts. We'll have a much easier way of finding them, so the next ones will become even better than we thought they would.

I've got to get that Jirachi as well to unlock the Course. Just got the Pichu a few hours ago, so that's cool.

Then, of course the scans. :D Two Gyarados yay. Only one is up for now though. And Jumpluff is missing for now too, but I like both those cards. Out of the ones shown, I like Ninetails, (Copycat, Collector, Reversal, Elm's, Switch, Poke Ball, and Fisherman's artwork), as well as DCE, Donphan Prime, Feraligatr Prime and almost all the artwork of the set tbh. Most of the cards aren't stellar, but this set has some of the best artwork I've ever seen. The Energy cards even look cool.

A 5th Generation confirmed is great. I already knew it would happen but still. I can't wait to see some of the ideas for the new Pokemon (not talking about stale evolutions and pre-evolutions that they're undoubtedly going to do).

Last but not least is the new mini-set. I'm guessing part of the set will go into our next set and the set after, although it could be our fourth set. I'm not sure quite yet. The Darkrai and Cresselia Legend looks really great, even if the attacks aren't amazing (which I doubt they will be). For the Primes list, I'm not really looking forward to any of them. If Gengar is broken, I'm definitely going to throw a fit so Absol better be good enough to counter it.

And it's nice that the FAQ got updated.

dmaster out.

5th generation confirmed?
*seth runs and jumps around in joy*

The new scans? They look great! I really wanna see what the Lithographs look like.

Jirachi event? Yay!

Cresselia and Darkrai legend? That attack...is uber. If you put unown G on it, the thing will DESTROY Machamp. 2 darkness and 2 colorless? You could charge w/ Weavile, and then go out smacking for 140, sending nearly EVERYTHING to the lost zone. Very attractive yes. I hope Gengar, Absol and Magnezone are good. No. I hope they are Great! Lol.

I think I know why this is happening. If we are getting the JP Battle Starter Decks as our Spring set, there is no Pokemon Legend in that set. So, if we get these cards and the Battle Starter Decks, then it would be a set with Prime Pokemon and Legend Pokemon.

No. Crobat, Ursaring, Raichu and Slowking will be greats in the next set, so if these get added(2 will probably be, making this set 6, the may set 6, and then the RL set 6, it all works out) we will get a fair amount. But this will be the only legend, unless they make a random promo legend, which they wont.

Hey, notice that small logo there in the image with the director? What do you think that means? I was thinking... it's designed really similar to the way the generation logos are designed. And what would the director talk about, holding a closed off image, other than his project?

They could add Raichu Prime and another Prime or the May set could problably have 7 Prime Pokemons, I like very mutch the artwork of Darkray & Cresselia Legend but, why they put those together? Is like a Mew & Mewtwo -_-", I think May set problably will be better than Rivived Legends

Well there are supposed to be Ruby and Sapphire remakes right? They should be coming out after the HG/SS remakes are out so then after that should be the Gen 5 games and then D/P remakes if any.:)

How lovely. The one Alph Lithograph is the one that helps Gengar. Anyway, collecting this set seems to be easier than I expected, except for the Alph Lithograph. That's gonna be a hard one to get!

Wow, the artwork for the set is spectacular, some of the best I've seen. Legend cards included, not to mention that SWEET Darkrai/Cresselia Legend.

Looks like this set boasts artwork rivaling air-guitar Infernape(Infernape 4 RR) and gangsta Croagunk (Croagunk SV); Say hello to kalabunga Drowzee! No seriously, taht drowzy looks like it's surfing on a rock. ;P Also, you still seem to be missing a Phanpy scan WPM.

Weezing's type is incorrectly listed as {G} on the set page.
