Appatently the earthquake messed up the cooling system of the reactors, and a small amount of radiation has leaked. Thankfully, the people nearby should be evacuated. I hope the Japanese don't have to suffer anymore. Their earthquake was far larger than the one in Chile, which was pretty bad as well.

^Well Chile was far superior in earthquake defense, not to mention the buildings aren't as tall as in Japan.

Really? I heard that the only reason Japan wasn't in far worse shape is because of the strong design of building despite their height. Anyways, the country will rebuild fast, it's in good economic shape.

I was shocked yesterday to learn that this happened. An earthquake of that magnitude would have devastating effects anywhere... My thoughts are with the people of Japan in this time of crisis.

I heard about it yesterday, and read about it today. Glad to know some people are out okay. Sadly, like everyone else, I feel bad for them. My thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese in their time of need.

The Tsunami struck yesterday morning on the California coast hitting cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles, but by the time it reached the US it was only a 4 foot wave... A few boats were damaged or lost but we're just fine. So don't you worry 'bout me, ;) worry about those poor Japanese victims. :(

I already confirmed sources from Twitter and Japanator on this thread that Satoshi Tajiri is still alive as well as EVERYONE from Pokemon of Japan, do you people not read? Reading is tech! -___-

What I'm more concerned about now is the Nuclear Meltdown going on in Northern Japan. About 120,000 people evacuated so that's good.

If you go on Anime News Network, they have a list of Anime/Manga Creators and Staff that checked in on their status after the Earthquake/Tsunami Tragedy. Bad news is that the creator of Hajime No Ippo (Fighting Spirit) isn't on there, which concerns me.

His name is George Morikawa (a.k.a. Morikawa Jyoji), and the last chapter of his hit Manga series was scanlated back on Thursday before the Earthquake struck. If anyone finds out whether If he's alive or dead let me know, Hajime No Ippo is one of the best Manga Series I've read next to One Piece besides watching it as well.

It is terrible, I am from new zealand and we thought what happened to us recently was terrible, and then you see this happening and you can't help but have your heart go out to them. It really hits home when its been happening in your country recently. I just pray that nothing happens to any of there reactors.

Hopefully we don't have to hear of to many more deaths

Thank you for the compliment, and I'm terribly sorry to hear about that. Yeah I heard on the news about the bad stuff going on in Australia and New Zealand not too long ago before the Japanese Quake. As for everyone in Japan best of luck to them and hopefully they'll make a full recovery, best of luck to you and your family as well.

I'm hoping that the Obama Administration here where I live in the U.S. will be able to send support over to Japan, maybe to try to stop those nuclear reactors from going off. Japan is recently going through a Nuclear Crisis and it's not looking good at all. I'd say we need to withdraw our troops from Afghanistan and go over to Japan to help our buddies out. Then again it's Obama's call on that one. :(
