While you are true it's vague, it's pretty clear that something like that lets you have an unfair advantage over everyone else. You're right nobody is punishing, but I am asking bacon to include it somewhere as a rule and if I find anybody trying to do it, I won't hesitate to punish them because I feel strongly that this kind of thing shouldn't be done. PMing people without permission is never allowed, and I know you know this if you've ever been in a Chat Room.

As far as fair competition goes, I don't think this is a big deal. It's no different to putting "Vote for me!" at the end of your post, because voters evidently have the choice to listen to or ignore the request.

However, I will still put a ban on PMing for requests, largely because regular members would become annoyed at the volume of "spam" messages they'd receive if advertising became a fad among all contestants.

My mind is made up, so I would prefer it if this discussion were dropped, as it's causing the thread to veer off topic and entries are being neglected of the attention they deserve as a result.

Name: Dragnegoak (Dragon + Negus + Oak)
Details:
Height: 8'1"
Weight: 497.2 lbs.
PokéDex Entry: A very greedy Pokémon that searches the globe for gems, then hoards them in massive, hollow trees where it makes its nest. If it finds an especially beautiful gem, it will adorn itself with said gem and show it off to other Dragnegoak. Its flowing leaf cape can stiffen and act as wings, granting it the ability to fly.
 
That is awesome Xous! Now if only some of the 5th generation Pokemon will look half this cool *fingers crossed*

Anyways, I don't know how to use any of those computer art programs like most of you guys do, so my entry is purely handdrawn and handcolored. Tell me what you think!

Species: Wood-Armor Pokemon
Type: Grass/Dragon
Pokedex Entry: Silvagon wear armor made of the thickest and strongest of oak trunks for protection. This form of camoflauge also allows them to blend in with their natural forest habitat, and are often mistaken for trees themselves.

hello everyone, im toille12345, im a newbie so can someone help me out? iv'e been lurking around watching the fakemon of every type contests. I realized that i want to enter one. i have my image saved on jpeg and uploaded it, but when i try to look at it, it says thread not found. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

and i just have to give a shoutout to xous, dude amazing entry, you'll probably win a fakemon of every type-2, nice job man, dragnegoak should be a real pokemon, AMAZING
 
this round is probably going to be more of a popularity contest than an art contest... :/

that said, we're putting a lot more effort into our fakemon this round... it's going to be a full evolution line hopefully, and be of a much higher quality on the picture itself! i wont let you win easy xous :)

Hey man, welcome to the forums.

To post images, you'll first need to upload them onto an image site. Photobucket.com is one such site. Once your pic has been uploaded, you can display it by putting image tags around the url. Um, for example,

[img ]www.photobucket.com/examplepic[ /img]

PM me if you have any other questions, and thanks for taking an interest in the competition! ;)

Oh ya, my exams are over (phoo) and now I have a bit of spare time. If anyone has an idea for an entry but is not too confident with their art skills, hit me a PM and we can work something out

Now put that Blue Dragon at an angle, anyone see a resembalance? I do, Xous used Dragontales that's not fair.
 
^They're both just based an the basic dragon idea. Besides that, I don't see any resemblance.

This is my entry, yet to be colored:

This is Loralon (Flora + Lòng, Chinese for dragon again). It will be Grass/Dragon. For those who don't see it, it resembles a flower. It wings resemble petals.
It will be colored mainly green on the outside and probably orange on the inside.

with no spaces.
You have to upload it to the internet to get a URL of course. I suggest imageshack, as its easy, free, and you don't need an account.
