Other Pokemon fansites?
Yes, as long as you are not blatantly advertising it and it has something which contributes to the discussion that PokeBeach does not. However, you are NOT allowed to link to any other Pokemon site in your signature or bio. Also, do not PM links to people in an attempt to get them to join a site.

YouTube and other videos?
Yes, as long as it is not for the purposes of advertising another Pokemon site.

Facebook and other social networking sites?
Yes, as long as it is not for the purposes of advertising another Pokemon site.

eBay or sales?
Yes, but only in your signature.

DeviantArt?
Yes, as long as it is not for the purposes of advertising another Pokemon site.

My blog, Livejournal, or Tumblr?
Yes, as long as it is not for the purposes of advertising another Pokemon site.

Clan or Team forums?
No.

Forums completely unrelated to Pokemon?
Yes, as long as it is an active, reputable forum (meaning more than 5,000 members).

The TCGO?
Yes.
 
In that case, be prepared for mass hysteria as people cannot link answers to questions :3

what about the link in my sig? it's a site for trading card games in general. I go there for playing online, but most of the users there go on there to trade cards. they have a good tracking system for trades which I've used before. daaang, this sounds like an ad.. maybe I should stop typing.

I'm thinking I might have to remove the link since it does offer a forum section.. but I don't think I've seen anything in there other than "who has this card?" threads.
 
I would assume that you are not allowed to link that site, as it has forums that members can join.

I don't believe anyone said the reason exactly why Bulbapedia/Serebii/etc. is not acceptable, seeing as they would clearly add something to the discussion that Pokebeach does not.

Edit: Oh yeah, and shouldn't this addendum be added to the official rules somewhere?
 
Well I think that links to those is kind of pointless.
For example, if someone asks a very obvious question, like where to catch a certain pokemon, instead of me looking it up or asking which game they are playing, I can just say 'google it' or 'check bulbapedia' if I don't know the answer. There is no need to link really.

But there are certain situations, where links could be handy, so I'm not sure. We will just see how it plays out I guess.

The reason I can have the Pokedex in my signature is because it isn't part of the forum. I specifically asked Shining Raikou if I could leave it in my signature.
 
like I said, sure it has a forum, but it is not a pokemon site. It just has a pokemon section. It's a trading card site with an emphasis on trading. The yu gi oh section is far more active than the pokemon section. It is a great site cuz I like playing online through it vs. playing through redshark..
 
So, just to clarify, I CANNOT link to any Serebii page whatsoever, even if it contributes to the discussion, but I can quote from it?

As long it contributes to the discussion in the thread and does not advertise the site in any way, you may post it in the thread. However, you cannot link to that site in your signature.
