BW/BW2 Am I only person that doesn't care about EV/IV's?

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

Good Natures and EVs actually can make all the difference going into late game stages like the Elite Four and late-game gym leaders, depending on which game your playing (Platinum can be a pain without Attack/Sp. Attack strong Pokemon). Also, they can help in post-ending events like the Battle Tower/Subway and PWT.

Yeah, try beating Kanto PWT without EV training at all.

It's near impossible unless you are a lucksack.

Pell are you RNG'ing? If you have you need to read some more guides because just soft-resetting for perfect IV's doesn't work :p

Not sure what you are talking about. I don't RNG. I breed things I can, and hack in everything else. :/ I only SR for shinies.

Battle Subway is annoying as you know what XD. I am not going to say or I would be breaking the rules LOLz.:)

Where's the dislike button when I need it? How is the Battle Subway annoying? The point is to test your general knowledge of the games' battle mechanics. This entails actually forming a team that can incorporate effective strategies in order to win seven straight battles in a row. While it may seem redundant, there is still a goal and comes with the ability to reap rewards for your efforts. If you find yourself constantly losing, then it's time to change tactics. That's all there is to it.

I think by "annoying" he really means hax-tastic.

The Battle Subway is annoying especially when Simpour or Manfoo's evolution or Minccino's evolution come out because they use moves that make it nearly impossible to attack. I am done with the Battle Subway I came and got what I needed. (The TM's) and left XD. Sometimes Ingo got to be annoying as well. Especially when he sends out Crustle first. If he sends Garbdor or KingKlang he is much easier to beat but if he sends Crustle he is a REAL problem. I have beaten him when he sends Crustle but I was only lucky those few times. I quit once I got all 10 TM's XD.:)

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

Garchomp and Metagross are indisposible when clearing the regular trains in the Battle Subway, though you can't really get them until late game/post ending (depending on what version you're playing). I was talking more about the Super trains, which require a lot of strategy to survive and also require you to EV train if you want to stand a chance against them.

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

Nope I only did the single train XD.:)

I just play the game regularly, and when I roam the competitive play section, I'm confused.

Edit: And the natures. I don't see the point in it. I easily understand abilities, but I don't fret about nature.

I don't bother with nature or abilities but I know from experience that EV training is worth your time. I have only EV trained 1 pokemon so far, it is a dragonite that can K.O. Just about anything at the battle subway(not counting the super trains but it does pretty good there to) it's mostly weak to arcen.

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

Archen's are a pain because they have the super effective power reducing berries when hit. You need the Incinerate TM to pound the berries or Pluck to steal it then use it XD.:)

Yea and even more annoying thing is that it's faster then me(didn't train it in speed,oh well)

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

I can't believe people are complaining about the regular trains. It took a good chunk out of my life to beat the super single and am currently working on the super double. A properly trained Pokemon with good coverage can easily sweep the regulars.

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

EVs are a mechanic that adds a much larger form of variation to the Pokemon games. It affects both casual and competitive play because you can plan ahead of time where you want your EVs to go. I'm sure many people, including myself, at least think about it during casual play. You don't always use an Alakazam to take out Machokes. It's just a waste of an EV. You use it to take out the Ghastly or the Haunter. Jack up that Special Attack yo!
Do a run where you fight Psychics with Fighting and one with Psychics and Poison. You'll notice the difference. Of course I'm generalizing.

As for competitive play EVs add so much more to the game that it wouldn't nearly be as versatile without them. Thanks to the extra stats Pokemon can specialize, become what they weren't meant to be or be a complete mystery to the opposite player. To my knowledge, a Pokemon that has a stat higher than everything else isn't usually used to exploit that stat.
I'm not even a competitive player and I understand the importance that a couple sets of 4 EVs can do to a battle. To not care about them and above all to call them 'fancy' is just simply incorrect.

tl;dr:

You nailed it right on the head. EV training is truly raising and training a Pokemon. To say it's pointless and useless is horrid and shows you aren't an actual player outside of in-game.

Edit: And the natures. I don't see the point in it. I easily understand abilities, but I don't fret about nature.
Really? You don't get natures...? The game shows you what they do, as in raise/lower stats.

RE: Am I only person that doesn't care of all this fancy EV/IV stuff?

Guys you might think we are crazy but honestly the EV training mechanics of the game is ridiculously irritating and annoy. I back him on this because he's right. For most of you guys you have a lot of spare time to EV train which takes hours on end to do. Those like him and I for that matter really don't see the point because for us it is a complete waste of time so we don't do it. That or we don't have that much time to do the heavy training because it takes a lot of time which most of us don't have. You guys have all the time in the world because you are still young and growing. The rest of us have other things to do so we don't have time to EV train. If we don't understand something or don't have time for it we trade for iy after we get our Pokemon cloned. That is a whole lot faster than spending hours on end EV training. I'd rather trade for something that someone else with the knowledge of EV training has than spending that time. It is much faster that way or he can do like I did and turn to event trading. That is more fun than EV training XD.:)

I have a full-time job and still have the time to EV Pokemon when I need them for a tournament. Not to mention all the work I do here. It doesn't take that long. If you have the power items you can get one Pokemon done in maybe half an hour or so.

That's why you have Join Avenue. I don't even EV train but I use that place.
