Pokemon animals that havent made it to pokemon form

arcanine, entei, and suicune are all based on both wolves and large cats, so that counts as a wolf IMO

I'm not really getting a wolf vibe from them tbh. The legendary beasts always had a more feline aesthetic, while Arcanine is a dog.

I want a Pangolin, Red Panda, Platypus, a kangaroo playing on the actual aesthetics of a kangaroo, not just the 'it's got a pouch, it's a kangaroo' Kangaskhan, a Bush Baby, a Possum, again a Giant Panda, a horseshoe crab, and many more beside. And a tiger. Arcanine is NOT a tiger.

EDIT: Looked at a few more of these, and decided I want a Toucan too. A wolverine would be cool also, and a Snow Leopard.

I'd like to see:

Fossils:
-Velociraptor
-T-Rex
-Spinosaurus
-Brachiosaurus
-Stegosaurus
-Mosasaur
-Elasmosaurus (sp) (possible Lapras evo)

Others:
-Pig that isn't able to use Psychic powers/manage to somehow use Fighting attacks, just a plain farm pig.
-Komodo dragon
-Jumping Spider (Denchura wasn't really like one)
-Tiger
-Flying fish
-Wyvern dragon
-Orca
-Mexican red rump tarantula

Props to anyone who said Dolphin. I want a Dolphin Pokemon sooooooo badly. It would be Psychic/Water, and be named Psyphin

Masterge77: Kangaskan is a kangaroo and Ramparos is a t-rex.

-sillykyle!

Rampardos is actually based on a pachycephalosaurus, a headbutting dinosaur. See any resemblance?

A few stuff I would like to see converted into pokemon are:

  • Minotaur
  • T Rex (Really, the king of reptiles and they still haven't made a pokemon of it?
  • Dracorex Hogwartsia funniest name ever
  • Rhino
  • Whale shark
  • Lemur
  • Some more carnivorous plants it amuses me that what they eat is what they are weak too XD
  • Zombie

lol
this thread is suppose to be about ANIMALS that havent had any pokemon treatment.

zombie.... lol....

Zombies, huh? How about zombie opossums then? http://pokebeach.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=75422&pid=1601128#pid1601128

I would like a beaver... Can't think off the top of my head if there is one

THEY DON'T HAVE A KOALA! WHY?!?!

Kangaskhan is (kinda I guess) a kangaroo. Marsupials aren't represented adequately if you ask me.
Is there an opossum pokemon yet? Plankton would be a funny one.
I personally think there should be more Pokemon whose inspiration is harder to pin down. Pokemon that make you say "what is that, exactly?" Jynx comes to mind I suppose.

Kangaskahn is most definetly NOT a Kangaroo, it does not even LOOK like one

Seriously, does this even look anything like this!?

The answer is no, Kangaskahn is not a Kangaroo, a marsupial, yes, but a Kangaroo, no, it's only called Kangaskahn because of it's baby, nothing else....

Kangaskahn is most definetly NOT a Kangaroo, it does not even LOOK like one

The only thing in this world which is a kangaroo is a kangaroo itself.

Kangaskhan, like Pidgey or every other pokemon whose name doesn't tally perfectly with its design, is a stylised fictional construct. As far as kangaroo resemblance is concerned, a vague physiological similarity, with a pouch on the stomach, is enough as far as the design team is concerned. I guess you can say it is like a dinosaur/kangaroo mashup.

Comparing pokemon to real life animals to argue on the level of resemblance is really just splitting hairs. It's a trivial issue, and is usually hardly productive.

Just like Machop and Snorlax are not based on any animal at all, in fact, a lot of he First Generation Pokemon are not based on any animal at all, but are instead anthropomorphications of personality traits and senses, Machop is strength, Abra is wisdom, Drowzee is sloth, Snorlax is gluttony, Mewtwo is wrath, and Kangaskahn is maternity....

Eevee is a weird exception, it is based on no real animal at all, it is actually a demostration of the concept of both kinds of evolution combined together, both Darwinism evolution and Pokemon evolution, an animal adapts and evolves when their surrounding changes, this is why Eevee has so many evolutions and why they are all differrent types....

kangaskahn is the parent pokemon. its a marsupial, which is as close of a resemblence to a kangaroo (probably the most common marsupial we can think of)

a more closely resembling fighting kangaroo would make an interesting pokemon though, as kangaroos are known to leap at opponents with their "foot spear" to try and gut them.

That's a Hedgehog, not a Porcupine, there's a difference, as Porcupines don't roll up into balls like Shaymin's Pokedex data says....

They haven't made many Dino Pokemon. I want a Stegasaurus.
Other animals are Dolphin, Koala, Pegasus, Unicorn....Bigfoof..?
