I haven't had much time to work on artwork the past couple of days, so I haven't had time to get any new sketches done. Hopefully I'll be able to get something done by tomorrow evening.

okay...cheers...i got inspired by you avatars i came up with mine...not drawn but googled...liked your style but cant seem to get the borders done nicely...and btw, you sig's border is awesome...seems like smudging..but how did you do it????

The way I got the border on this signature was actually a bit complex (and it probably could have been done a lot easier than I did it). xD

The program I use (Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9) has a tool that puts a frame around the piece (like a picture frame), and one of those frames is a blurred frame (I guess it's used for a smudged effect). Unfortunately I couldn't just use the frame and be done with it, since the background would be all white instead of transparent. When the program puts the frame on, it puts it on its own Frame Layer, which I converted to a raster layer. Then I pasted the raster layer into the piece as a new selection, positioned it correctly, then cut, leaving the piece with the blurred edges of the frame, but with the transparent background I wanted.

Like I said, it's a bit complex, so I may have gotten some steps wrong. That's the first (and so far only) time I've done that, but it's something I've always wanted to do for a banner, so I'm glad I was able to do it. Hopefully the next time I want to make a banner with that effect, I'll be able to remember how I did it. xD
