Honchcrow. That is such a good card yet no one plays it.

I saw it teched into a few decks at FL states to deal with gyarados. A deck centered around honchkrow though, has been tried by a few of my friends and I, and has flopped.

Breloom SV. It can stop some stage 2 decks.

Yeah but one really popular deck right now makes that completely useless. Gyarados. Either of brelooms attacks fail against gyara.

Why would you play Metagross SV in an SP deck?

Anyway, I feel like Machamp as a tech is overlooked.

I wasn't saying to tech MEtagross in an SP deck, but in a deck it's own with Luxray to OHKO benched Pixies and Claydols. Sorry, I was unclear on that.

RE: Most overlooked card

For me it's either Ambipom G (or at least it was highly overlooked) or Pokemon Reversal. Reversal is definitely game changing. It's just people overlook it because it has the flip.

Yeah, I'm thinking there's something that can be done with that metagross, but I can't think of anything extraordinary.
Junior nats champs deck? Machamp Metagross. Send up the uxies/ azelfs/ other and KO 'em

More the reason why Metagross is an overlooked tech. I've disrupted and have actually done a Flydeck with it. Ambipom G is something I agree with too, at least back then.

Actually thats not it. When reversal was in play a long time ago, it was highly used. Now however, Luxray X is a guaranteed pull, so it makes a trainer that you need at least 3 of to work inferior. But I do agree its overlooked. I would run it in Gyra if I didn't have Luxray.

IMO, the most overlooked card is Drifblim. Its body can give it 120 HP, and with a Crobat drop, Lucario or Lake Boundary, it OHKOs pixies. I think thats pretty awesome.

RE: Most overlooked card

Even still it's great with Luxray but people just don't see it (and Metagross tbh) to be useful like it was back in Base.

RE: Most overlooked card

a card i EXTREMELY love using or infact a deck i LOVE using was a deck i made with

1 Manetric MT
2 Manetric MD
1 Manetric PL
2 Zapdos MD
2 Electrivire SW
1 Electrivire Lv.X
1 Raikou SW

it was a beast deck at that!

i think poeple should go mor ein depth and take advantage of the 12 SETS WE ARE ABLE TO USE!

(infact im running a custom made Beedrill G deck made by me for Regionals most likely)

Honchkrow fans unite! I almost made a Honchkrow deck, but I got derailed and dismanteled it. One problem is that I was a newb when I built it, so it had no strategy involving Honchkrow at all because I didn't have the X. When I can I'll make a Honchkrow deck though.

I think it's Raichu Lv. X. It snipes any Claydol, Bronzong G, etc. AND with usually 1HKOs the active, seeing there aren't many tanks out in the metagame, mostly SP decks as far as I know. And even if it doesn't, chances are it has a few counters on it.

Same with any Magnezone. It's the best Electric/Steel tech EVER, and I haven't seen it in any Electric/Steel deck. With DP, both SF and the X, you can free retreat, search for any Electric/Steel Pokemon, get energy back from the discard AND move energy. And if you use it wisely, you can streak Cyber Shock by attatching regularly/moving and then getting an energy from the discard pile.

I also think Flygon--just kidding. Actually, I think another overlooked is Mismagius SF. In a toolbox deck with Porygon-Z G you can easily hit for 80 damage for no energy and get most of the tools back with Porygon-Z G.

RE: Most overlooked card

Wow I didn't expect this thread to get so popular. Raichu x seems a bit overlooked to me too. Drapion x seems beastly too, just no awesome combos with it. And I know about machamp metagross, but it's just too slow to keep up with this meta.

But that was last year and it was in JUNIORS, I mean, what master would play it and intend to be successful with it? A talented master played it at a cities and didn't even make top cuts with it. SPs weren't as dominant last nats (if even at all) and especially not in juniors.

Worst Card in HG/SS (Rare)?

I'd have to vote for Araidos.

http://www.professor-oak.com/CardOrders/ItemDetails.asp?IID=18422

vs

http://www.professor-oak.com/CardOrders/ItemDetails.asp?IID=2521

Butterfree-

Better because:

FORTY more health. (80 vs 120)
Second attack does more damage (50 vs 60), and can sleep the enemy as well as poison.
Free Retreat (Not 1)
+30 Fire Weak (Not 2x)
First attack can heal ANY POKEMON not just itself.

Araidos-

Better Because:

Stage 1
Second attack takes GCC not GGC.

The game of pokemon is about synergy. Put an expert belt on Araidos and its going to get 1 shot probably - put one on butterfree and it can tank and heal your whole team for 50 a turn. Araidos gives none.

Feel free to voice your own opinions on what card from HG/SS set is the worst. YOU CAN ALSO VOTE FOR ARTWORK BEING BAD!

RE: Worst Card in HG/SS (Rare)?

Oh, yes I know - I'm just showing how bad Araidos is by relating it to a card that is better in basically every way. The same way you would judge the Relicanth from Emerald by relating it to Grand Swell Relicanth.

But I should have mentioned that, yeah.
