Is the BW series the worst Series?
There are a lot of things that bug me about it, like how Pikachu and Pignite are the only Pokémon used. Lack of evolutions and that the Pokémon Ash HAS evolved, other than Pignite and to a lesser extent Krookodile, never get used.
It also doesn't help that the League was a joke and Ash has actually gotten worse than he was in Johto. Everything was handled so poorly. Rivals, TR, the fact that Ash never won a single tournament ect... I can't wait til this League is as forgotten as Ash capturing a Beedrill.

Now hold on. You expect Ash to win everything? I like how Ash hasn't won anything yet, it means that he isn't perfect and needs to become better. And that wasn't the leauge lol. That was just a fun tourney.
Plus this is a show designed for 8 year olds, so the content is meant to be light.

He's already in the League... The one where he's against the stupid trainer and Ash is using Oshawott and Snivy. THAT is the official Unova League.

My bad, you're right. But what about Sinnoh? Oh I'll just use the Gible I caught 5 episodes ago.

I don't think it's fair to say that this was the worst season ever. I don't really have a problem with any of them actually. They are all different, taking place in different regions, different Pokémon, time periods, plots, etc. so to compare them all equally probably isn't appropriate.

The only real element you have addressed as the reason the shows were so bad this time around is the specific use of Pokémon, or lack of for that matter. That's hardly a reason to support Unova being the worst ever. I would have to disagree, I think they were all used adequately and I would even say that Pikachu was probably one of the least used.

I do completely agree though that they need to start having Ash win some important battles. He of course can't win everything just because he is the star of the show, and the writers have sure stuck to that element throughout the anime. But the whole theme of Ash always getting to the League and then losing is starting to get a little old, at least for me personally. It makes you wonder why you just spent the last few months of your life watching his journey to the League just to see him fail. In some generations he doesn't even make it to the Finals.

Some of the technicalities are a little queer, like Pikachu losing to Snivy at the start of the anime, despite having 4 generations of experience under its belt. But overall Black and White has been good to us. As a side note, I liked Team Rocket's role this time a lot more than what we have previously seen. The best way I can describe it is that it's much more mature, or hardcore if you will.

But at least he didn't use it in the battle against the Legendary Trainer.

BTW, Ash used Pikachu in 5 Gyms in Unova and won against 2 of dumb trainers Pokémon. Almost all of the rest of his Unova Pokémon are only in 2 Gyms.

Well, I believe it IS the worst. Besides the fact that I don't like the Pokemon Ash is using (I hate all BW starters and their evos except Samurott) it has really become pissing. Ash was overpowered in the past. Now it's like they try to make up for that by underpowering him to ridiculous levels.
Another thing I don't like is the supporting characters. Ash's rival is annoying, but I think that by no means he is as "cool" as Gary or Paul. He seems like a nerd to me actually, especially in the way he keeps on saying "This is basic stuff." Also, I don't like Iris in comparison to May or Misty and as for Cilan... He is an everything connoisseur, which was funny in the beginning, but got kinda annoying at the 10th time and I can't stand that Stunfisk. I thought that after removing Brock we would have a normal supporting character, but instead we got another Gym Leader who once more uses different types rather than his own.
You know what I like in this anime? Team Rocket. They are much better than the past (although their original intro from season 1 is the best).

I wouldn't consider Black and White to be the worst series. Ash's adventure in the Sinnoh region would be one of the worst parts of the entire Pokemon series, in my opinion. They pretty much repeated the same old story line over and over and I utterly hated the contests; it was a waste of time. Black and White has been considerably better than Diamond and Pearl, but I wouldn't deem it as entertaining as the first three series.

Pokemon is aimed towards the younger folks and will constantly use the same ideas and themes repetitively, since older fans tend to move on from the series and new kids start to come in.

Yeah, something has been wrong since DP. Though, DP isn't as bad as BW, I just don't like how they handled some of Ash's, Dawns and Pauls Pokémon. I mean, at least Paul was out of the League in the second to last battle Ash was in, unlike Trip, who was the first...

Did any of the Johto/AG writers quit during late DP/early BW?

I kind of hate BW. For me it's the worst series, at least for me. I realize this is a show meant for young children, but it's excessively annoying. Basically all the characters became kind of idiots, they got dumber. That doesn't make any sense whatsoever, at least for Ash, because he has been a Pokemon trainer for such a long time (technically not considering he's still 10) and probably has learned the most. I hate the repetitive jokes. It's okay when it's just a couple repetitive joke lines, like with Brock and Team Rocket in the previous series, but now it's way to excessive. Whenever Stephan shows up it feels like every minute someone pronounces his name wrong. It's funny for an episode or two but after that it's just a huge pain. Then there's Cilan. I hate Cilan. It's really annoying whenever he brings food into any sentence. I realize he's a conniseur (totally spelt that wrong) but it's really annoying. I wish they had kept Brock, he had a repetitive joke but the writers didn't use it too much, they tried to keep it down a bit. Team Rocket is another part I dislike. It's cool and all that they've gone up the ladder of evil or whatever, but it's not the same. I enjoyed their random silly machines and when they had those almost successful moments. I liked how sometimes they wouldn't just 'blast off again', but they would actually succeed for an episode. In BW I actually do like Bianca. She's has that perfect level of ditzyness that makes her hilarious. All in all BW just made too many changes that caused me to dislike the series.

Completely agree. It's not that they added new gimics, it's that they repeated them over and over again.
The Stephan thing in like the Butch thing, but at least Butch only appeared in like 10 episodes.

Also, there's a theory as to why Ash and co haven't appeared to of aged and It's because instead of aging, as in years you're alive for, you age depending on how mature you are. Ash could be 13+, but he's still 10 because he still acts like it.

He actually did, he used Draco Meteor on the Darkrai.

I also agree, I dislike very strongly the BW anime series. I hate how it took 15+ episodes to get to NIMBASA TOWN!!!! Then the gym leaders, oh god the gym leaders. The horrid burgh, and Cilan joining them, too much to hate,

I do like the Black and White Anime Series a lot.In fact here's what I have to say about the character

However I completely hate Cilian and his Stunfisk. I completely agree that he is just weird. He in no way replaces Brock and I want them to bring Brock back! Cilian in many ways acts just like Brock. ( Cooks, Caring,Helpful, gives advice to trainers on their Pokemon.) However he just can't compare to Brock. It feels like they replaced Brock and thought his character was necessary but didn't want to bring him back so they add in someone that acts just like him. Cilian is just stupid and every battle he is in he screams "It's evaluating time and goes on and on and on about things I honestly don't want to hear. It's fine if they say stuff about a trainers bond when the battle is over but during is just plain painful to hear. And that Stunfisk's grin...On a final note Cilian=Brock Lite

I love Iris however just like anyone she has her quirks. I love that she loves Dragon Type Pokemon and wants to Master them. She has Ambition Passion and stands up to anyone who thinks thy are better than her. I did mention she has her quirks and now I'll explain what I meant by that. Her catchphrase "You're such a kid!" is just terrible she needs to stop saying it.It hurts people's feelings and is just an insult no matter how you look at it.That and the fact that in the Anime everyone's a kid just doesn't sit right with me.Onto the next subject. Iris only has 2 Dragon type Pokemon....
Seriously only 2 for an aspiring Dragon Master? How is this justified? It feels like to me watching the anime that she loves Dragon types so why doesn't she have more of them...? Correct me if I'm wrong but almost everyone of Misty's Pokemon were Water type except for Togepi and she wanted to be a Water type Pokemon master. Why doesn't Iris have as many Dragon type Pokemon. Not to mention her fear of Ice types reminds me too much of Misty and Bugs....

Other than the Usual Ash just seems like Ash.

I love the New Team Rocket! Instead of the Usual Run up to Ash-Steal Pikachu-Run!! plan (Granted they had better one's but still they were usually pretty pathetic and not well thought out. ) it seems like they have actually started thinking of bigger and better things they use standard technology to help them reach there goals. Now they actually sit back bide their time strategize and plan out a course of action.I actually take them seriously now...

Overall I love the anime and just wish the characters would just be more realistic and unique.I know it's a kids show but I watch it and usually enjoy it (except for the parts where Cilian starts evaluating..)

Well, at least he knows a powerful move, unlike Oshawott. Or Snivy who refuses to learn any new moves.

Oh my god, so much rage for this series.
If they rushed the League for a years worth of fillers, I will NOT be happy.

If, they however did a Battle Frontier thing, that would work out.

Seriously, though, it's terrible.
Of course, the old fans are moving on etc etc.
But this is by no means an improvement. The only improvement I see since DP is Pikachu's constant weight loss (just remember how he was in the 1st season:)).
Thing is, the characters actually are a bad copy of the old ones. As mentioned, Cilan is mike a bad version of Brock, without the OMG GIRLS!!!! part. And Iris keeps on bugging Ash, just like Misty, is scared to death by a specific Pokemon type, just like Misty, wants to master a specific type, just like Misty, but she's not half as good as Misty.
And you're so right about the catchphrase! Iris, you're such a kid!

Pikachu: Used too much in this League. Then again, with a lot of other poorly leveled Pokémon to rotate, what other choice does he have?
Unfezant: Only been in what? 5, 6 Battles? Definitely his weakest Bird, as she's only won once or twice.
Oshawott: Never, ever used.
Snivy: Also never used.
Pignite: Yet another overpowered Fire/Fighting type... Ash's second most used Pokémon this League, also his only evolved starter. I really thought Oshawott would be the star this time, since in AG Ash had Sceptile and in DP he had Infernape.
Scraggy: Has average use and probably one of Ash's powerhouses this League, unfortunately.
Leavanny: Oddly powerful for a Pokémon he never uses.
Palpitoad: Again, never really used, but has average strength.
Boldore: Again, never really used, but has average strength.
Krookodile: One of Ash's powerhouses.

Ash's powerhouses this League: Pikachu, Pignite, Scraggy, Leavanny and Krookodile. Too bad he only used Pikachu and Pignite against Cameron.
