BW the Worst Series in Pokémon?

I don't think the BW series was the worst, but I just think it could've been better. Such as more evolutions for Ash's team, better League, more character development like the DP series, Iris's personality, more captures for Iris + Cilan, less serious Team Rocket...yada yada yada.

I'd love to see an anime that follows the Pokemon Adventures manga.
It'd be great if they cancelled the current anime, but I only say this because I don't like it by it being aimed at children and not people my age. Of course cancelling it would be a bad move for TPC, I don't understand why they can't at least have 2 Pokemon animes coexisting, one for the children (Ash & co.) and one for teens/young adults [Red, Gold, (Adventures)].

Do you really think it's necessary to have two different shows to cater to different ages? There are a good number of examples of shows both from Japan (e.g., some long running shounen series such as One Piece) and the US (e.g. the new My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) that are aimed at a younger audience but are good enough to attract the attention and interest of older viewers. Most Pixar movies also succeed at this very well.

Honestly, I would rather see Pokémon walk down that route rather than creating multiple shows, if only because one, better-written show would be more likely to sustain itself for a longer period of time than a spin-off show (not to mention be more likely to happen in the first place).

When I say things like "good enough" and "better written" I don't necessarily mean to imply that the Pokémon TV show is bad, but that because it only aims itself towards young children, it cuts corners where children won't notice but adults do. Character development, world building, cohesive storytelling, subtler humour... all of these things could (and should!) be included in the show and they wouldn't lose a single younger viewer while attracting more older ones.

I really like the B&W so far..
But maybe I'm just easy, I'm not that critical and totally following every detail, so it really might just be me. x'D
But I really still enjoy watching it, sure things have changed, I do miss Misty & Brock, but I'm really glad Team Rocket is still there !
Keeping a tiny bit nostalgia in there is nice. ;)

I haven't seen much of BW saga, but not because I cant. I watched some chapters and I didn't like it at all. I searched Ash's team and I saw a horrible team. I saw Cilan and i was like "wtf?"...

I looked at Ash's team once every month and it barely changed. I admit i didn't like the Pokemon from BW (A pokemon with karate clothes? ._.). I had a lot of troubles choosing in pokemon Black, because the only one i really liked aside from Samurott was braviary and he didn't appear on black. I was glad that Black 2 let me capture older pokemons.

Anyway, I can't say BW series is bad, however, for my taste, it's horrible. Especially when I see the older series of Pokemon in the tv everyday, and the diference is huge. BW, for me,killed Pokemon... But who knows, maybe if I watch it more I might like it, especially for my love to the anime.

I've highlighted a few of the things in your post that are kind of giving me an indication for why you might be disliking B/W. It seems to me as though 1) You've judged the entire B/W saga based off of simple first impressions and 2) You haven't watched enough episodes to truly get an idea for the region as a whole. You know, some of the fillers can be pretty boring I admit, and that's why you can't disregard everything based on just a few. My first impressions of Dent was also "wtf!" and I thought some of the Pokemon were stupid as heck (I even remember ranting in a news story about how I disliked the starters so much) but I still continued to watch and guess what? I started to appreciate all those things a little more, and now as we're starting to near the end, I've grown to like pretty much all of the things I used to have a bad impression of. ;)

Also, I think Ash's team amounts to more then just how it looks. I know there weren't many evolutions, but it's more about the content and the way in which they are used in battles and throughout the story more than anything. Boy do I hope they do better with the team in X/Y though because I think it's quite dumb when they go through the entire region without gaining even one stage of evolution. It doesn't even really make sense. I'm pretty sure their only reasoning for doing this was to break the norm; but it made it worse.

He actually did, he used Draco Meteor on the Darkrai.

Well, at least he knows a powerful move, unlike Oshawott. Or Snivy who refuses to learn any new moves.

Ok for one Oshawott knows Hydro pump, and He caught a Snivy (which belonged to another trainer, I think) knows leaf storm. Yes i hate Cilan but love his Pokemon, hate Iris's catch phrase, also hated how it seems ash pikachu lost all of its experience (WTF happened) so l, the show is bad but it does have some good qualities such as abnormality Pokemon, Roxie's extremely fast koffing and OP Pokemon. Another example Elena's tyanamo (mispelled that). So yeah it has its up and downs like Kanyo he released several Pokemon and caught a herd of Tauros. So it has its UPS and downs, yes it does. Could it be better? Yes. So far it has.

Best Wishes is pretty disappointing following DP. The show has gone back to the Johto formula of endless fillers and a lack of development for the female companion. Ash has a lackluster pokemon team this gen and the rivals are awful.

Best Wishes is a step back from the last two gens, but its not awful.

Then, i'm going to see it. Aside from what i said, i've been hearing a lot of bad comments of the series as well. But you're right, i should give it an opportunity :). Something that caught my eye was team rocket. Are they (Giovanny included) fighting team Plasma? I guess i should find out...

It went downhill after the second part of Generation 3, I lost the magic with Characters, it really started to bug me that Ash never improved, it just doesn't make sense. I prefer the whole design of the older Generation's anyway, I would say the Johto series was when Pokémon Anime was at it's best, I really feel the magic when watching them over and over. I really get annoyed when I hear younger kids saying the new generations are the best, when they haven't seen the older series. I know it's only natural, but they need to air the older episodes more in the UK.

He actually improved immensely in Gen 4...

Nonetheless, as many have said before me, Ash was a complete reboot for Gen 5 (not just Pikachu returning to noob levels) and it has been that way the entire Best Wishes series. I just dislike how stupid they make him, like come on does he need to use the Pokédex on Pokémon he's already definitely seen and/or has? (Him using it on a Corphish and Buizel just made me so frustrated).

When I watched the episode where Pikachu lost to Snivy... I literally shouted at the TV screen because that's how annoyed I was. I know it sounds silly to get annoyed over a TV show haha.. but this was literally the most stupid thing ever to happen in the Pokemon anime in my opinion.

I didn't hate Generation 4, I admit I did watch a season or two, didn't enjoy as much as previous but I didn't hate it. I think midway through Battle Dimension I got bored, I did enjoy the new fresh approach but it got boring.

I enjoyed the fillers in Johto, but they were more interesting.

I definitely don't think BW was the worst series, I found a lot of the characters pretty entertaining but it still had flaws such as Oshawott and Axew's annoying antics constantly being shoved down the viewer's throats. I'd also have liked to see Ash actually remember more things he learned before BW. Such as when he challenged Lenora, lost, and then was all "oops i didnt train oshawott and tepig, better go do that now"

Maybe XY will be better.

They certainly aren't on the same side, but I agree, you should go watch to witness for yourself how it's all playing out. Don't let me ruin the fun! I will say that if you've been disappointed with Team Rocket, or if you were tired of the same old team rocket routine in previous generations, I think you'll rediscover your love for them. They got a huge overhaul in BW; the way they think and interact in the story has been remastered. However, when you reach the N arc, you'll start seeing hints of the old TR again. The shortest way I can describe it is that you can finally take them a little more seriously as bad guys; but at the same time they're still the fun loving characters we all know and love.

If you are indeed rethinking watching BW, don't be discouraged by some of the fillers, just keep keeping on; skip the stupid ones, but don't give up on the rest of them! Once you have, lmk what you thought of TR in this thread.

The problem I have is, if they had a marathon of all of them from episode 1 of the B/W series to now on TV, I would watch them. I don't like watching online, I get bored.

I usually DL the series. You can connect laptops to televisions quite easily. I use a HDMI cable for it.

I actually loved this series, I loved the first one, didn't like the orange islands, loved Johto, loved Hoen, despised Sinnoh for some reason.

I don't know why but I just do, I think it might have to deal with Cilan and Iris, I don't know why though.

I wish I had my own laptop, but we share one and there is 4 of us. I usually use it the least

The only good parts of Johto were the beginning and tail end, the middle of Johto is plagued with fillers.

Hoenn was a but better due to Ash evolving his Pokemon and bringing in May and the Contests. DP is a mixed bag depending on your view of Dawn but Paul was a great rival.
