Combo Competition

All right. All three of you are posted on the first part. Congrats to first two people who made finals.

I'll join if that's all right.

Rapidash Lv.46 HP90 {R}

Poké-Body Flare Height
Look at Rapidash's height If you have a {R} Pokémon on your bench that is the same height as Rapidash Rapidash needs 1 less {C} energy to attack.

{R}{R}{C} Burn Rubber 80

Weakness-{W}+20
Resistance-
Retreat Cost-{C}{C}

Typhlosion Lv.51 HP110 {R}

{R}{R}{C} Raise Flame 60
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now burned.

{R}{R}{R}{R} Burn High 50+
This attack does 50 damage plus 60 more damage if one of your benched Pokémon's height is the same as Typhlosion's.

Weakness-{W}+30
Resistance-
Retreat Cost-{C}{C}

Why are they are similar?
They are...
  • Both the same height.
  • Both the same colour.
  • Both the same type.
  • And both the same egg group.

Psychic Whisperer - You simply compare my scores to the ones you would have given and if you disagree with my scores, PM me. If both you and the only other sub-judge (currently) disagree, I will change their score. However, if the score will not change weather or not that person makes finals, don't notify me. If you don't want to do this ow that you know what it is, just tell me and I will remove your name from the list.

6294 - I will post your score now.

I'll give this a try...

Moltres {R} Lv. 60 HP: 130

PokePower: Fire Bender
Anytime during your turn (before your attack), you can take any amount of {R} off Moltres and your Benched Pokemon and place them on one single Pokemon. If you decide to retreat Moltres, you don't have to abide by the Retreat Cost rules.

{R}{R} Warm-Up 30
Afterburner does double damage next turn

{R}{R}{R} Afterburner 50

Weakness- {W} + 30
Resistance- {F} - 20
Retreat Cost- {C}{C}{C}

(Warm-Up and Afterburner are a great one-two punch. And Fire Bender is great for decks that solely rely on Fire types.)

Entei {R} Lv. 55 HP: 110

PokePower: Fire Magnet
If you used Moltres's Fire Bender PokePower, all {R} energies go directly to Entei

{R}{R} Rushing Flames 40
Defending Pokemon is now Burned.

{R}{R}{R}{R} Fire Blast 90

Weakness- {W}{F} + 30
Resistance- {G} - 20
Retreat Cost- {C}{C}{C}

(Fire Bender and Fire Magnet work very well together, and those two PokePowers are very effective together.)

How you have the scores, at 38/40, isn't really fair. Espcially with the fact so many are 1-2 points close, you should re-edit the rules and scores. (make it like 35-40) How you have it, is unfair.

Sweet Dawn:
It isn't unfair. To make finals, all people really have to do is read directions well. If you had done so and not cited Moltres on Entei, you would have only lost 2 points, qualifying you for finals. If I did slacken the rules, everyone who I have posted so far would make finals. I am only expecting about 10 people to make finals, of about 40-50 entrants.

Crawdaunt lv.47 hp90 {W}

(Pokebody) Super Hold
The defending Pokemon’s retreat cost is increased by © for each energy card attached to the defending Pokemon. You can’t use more than 1 Super Hold Pokebody at a time.

{W}{C}{C} Crab Hammer 60
You may move 1 energy card from 1 of your opponents Pokemon to another of your opponents Pokemon.

Weakness: {L} (+20)
Resistance:
Retreat Cost: {C}{C}
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sharpedo lv.54 hp80 {W}

(Pokepower) Shark Bite
Once during your turn, before you attack, you may look at your opponents hand, choose any number of energy cards you find there and attach them to 1 of your opponents Pokemon. Then put 1 damage counter on Sharpedo.

{W}{C} Speed Strike 20x
This attack does 20 damage times the number of (C) in the defending Pokemon’s retreat cost.

Weakness: {L} (+20)
Resistance:
Retreat Cost:

Following the formatting rules/proper spelling and grammar (5/5)
Originality of the combo (Gardevoir/Gallade would be considered obvious) (10/10)
Staying Reasonable (don't make some crazy 20,000 HP guy. Keep it withing the fairness of real cards) (3/5) Locking Supporters, and loading your opponent's hand up with them just seems a bit overly powerful to me. If you got a T2 Honchkrow, your opponent will probably not get to setup.
If the combo is not quite obvious, explain it somewhere. Don't do the "randomness thing" mentioned in rule 5 (5/5)
Don't copy [even remotely] other people's ideas or ideas already used in the real TCG (4/5) The combo is good, but you will have to switch a lot, making it a bit unstable.
Creativity (10/10)
Total (37/40)
Finals: No.

As you said, this combo is to not let your opponent set-up quickly. They might not be able to your their supporter from their hand but they can still use eg: Sableye SF (play it from their deck). And i purposely made it switchy so they can have a chance to use their supporter. Seeing as they both has (L) weakness, this combo will die to Raichu Lv.X (which is popular now), Voltage Shoot then Burst ball, 2 prizes gone. i mean if this combo was "stable", locking from bench? then its too broken. In every combo, there must be a flaw/loophole. A combo can't be flawless, either hard to set-up,low hp, conditions to satisfy etc. i mean jus +1 to getting to the finals. i kinda feel like i deserve a +1.

I didn't copy any text onto my Rapidash card I made, It was just chance.

Furret
80 HP
Colourless

C Scouting
Choose one of your opponent’s benched Pokemon. That Pokemon can’t attack during your opponent’s next turn.

CCC Burrow Away
At the end of your opponent’s next turn, place 7 damage counters on the defending Pokemon.

Weakness: Fighting +20
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: None

Swalot
90 HP
Psychic

PokePower: Oozing
Once during your turn(before your attack), if Swalot is on your bench, you may discard a Psychic energy attached to one of your Pokemon. If you do, the defending Pokemon is now Poisoned. Place 2 damage counters instead of one in between turns.

PC Digest 30+
This attack does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for every energy attached to the defending Pokemon. If the defending Pokemon is Knocked Out by this attack, remove all damage counters from Swalot.

Weakness: Psychic +20
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: CC

Combo: Poison with Swalot, and render back-up useless. They can’t retreat for back-up as it can’t attack, but they take 20 damage a turn if they don’t. Combine with Weezing(GE?). Not too powerful, but I don’t think it needs to be, does it?

iKyLeZ - I now see your point of view, and have received word from a sub-judge on your side. I will add one point in for you to make finals.

6294 - I took away from your creativity score because there was no strategy involved in it. You just found two random Pokemon with a similar characteristic and made them receive benefits. I don't exactly call that creative. Technically, you cited something on the other card (the height), and I said not to do that in the rules.

Pokemanic - I will post your score.

Aipom lv.23 hp50 {C}

{C} Tickle 10
Flip a coin if heads you may take an energy card from your opponent’s Pokemon and put it on Aipom.

{C}{C} Swift 30

Weakness:{F} (+30)
Resistance:none
Retreat Cost: none
_____________________________________________________________

Ambipom lv.47 hp90 {C}

(Pokebody) Quick tails
Every turn you may take an energy card out of your deck and play it on Ambipom. You cannot use Quick tails if Ambipom is affected by a special condition

{C}{C} Double hit 20+
Flip a coin if heads this attack does 20 damage plus 20.

{C}{C}{C} Focus punch 60
Flip 2 coins if both coins are heads this attack does 60 damage if one coin is tails this attack does nothing.

Weakness:{F} (+20)
Resistance:none
Retreat Cost: none

hey, I'll give it a shot:

Froslass Lv. 44 HP 90{P}
Stage 1
Evolves from Snorunt

{P}{C} Yin-Yang Haunting 30+
Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each {R} Pokemon on you bench. If tails, remove a number of damage counters from this Pokemon equal to the number of {W} Pokemon on your bench.

{P}{W}{C}{C} Pscho Avalanche 90
You may flips two coins. If both of them are heads, choose one of your opponent's benched Pokemon and put 9 damage counters on that Pokemon. If both of them are tails, your opponent selects one of your benched Pokemon and put 9 damage counters on that Pokemon.

Weakness: {D} (+20)
Ressitance: {C} (-20)
Retreat Cost {C}

Ninetales Lv. 51 HP 100 {R}
Stage 1
Evolves from Vulpix

Poke-Power: Signal Fire
Once during your turn, you may search your deck for a {R} Pokemon, show it to your opponent, and place it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

{C}{C} Distraction Martyr 20
If Ninetales is knocked out during your opponent's next turn, treat all coin flips as heads during your next turn.

{R}{R}{C} Strike and Reced 70-
You may discard any number of energy attached to Ninetales and this attack does 70 damage, -10 damge for each energy card discarded in this way. Then, search your discard pile for a number of energy cards equal to the amount you discarded and attach them to any of your Pokemon in play (excluding any Ninetales).

Weakness: {W}(+20)
Resistance
Retreat Cost

Combo explination: Ninetails gets Pokemon for Froslass's first attack (it may seem random, but Froslass is the only ghost Pokemon whose type is associated with hot or cold, so I gave it an attack that reflects that), allows for a more stable use of Froslass with Distraction Martyr and can provide energy for Froslass's extreemly expensive attack.
