So much for last of the series

Corruption is still the last of the Metroid PRIME series, this is a whole new series. It's how stuff works, you didn't think they were going to discontinue a popular franchise, did you?

I did think it was going to be the last of her adventures. Does this new game count as a continuation or is it about her past?

I think it'll be both. It's between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, so it's mainly going to be delving into her past with recent characters and flashbacks.

My answer to your question d-master is Sonic (like heavenly spoon said) and Megaman, for starters.

I point you to Mega Man 9 and Mega Man Zero and Sonic Rush and Sonic Chronicles for counter. All those games had something different and were executed near flawlessly.
