I can see where you're coming from about the game of the year thing, and I'm sure a lot of people think the same way you do, but Forge world will not be exhausted in a few months. You could be right about everything else, but with the Halo community and its size, there's no way we'll finish with Forge world in a matter of months.

We had a new Halo game last year, we already had Halo 3, Reach isn't really a huge jump for the Halo series apart from graphics and... I guess Forge World. But Starcraft 2 will win Game of the Year anyway because fans of that franchise (including myself) have been waiting for more than a decade for that game to come out, and it is awesome.
People will have exhausted Forge World's capabilities in a few months. You're right, the Halo community does have a large size, and a lot of them are smart people. They will be able to create interesting and creative maps and whatnot for Forge World in a few months, no more than a year. The online play will be Halo's biggest selling point as it always is, but I really don't think there's any chance this game will get game of the year. Halo 3 didn't win many of the Game of the Year awards because it lost to Super Mario Galaxy and Bioshock. Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Bioshock 2 came out this year. Bioshock 2 isn't as good as Bioshock 1, but SMG2 is game of the year material. I still think Starcraft 2 will win.
I'm not a Halo hater, because I did like the franchise until ODST, and when I heard about Reach, I just rolled my eyes.

Reach overall is going to be a very decent game. I love the look of it, some of the new weapons are fun to play with, Invasion is another fun mode, and Forge World...there's a lot of ridiculous things you can do with it. However, overall I think it's going to be an overrated game. Maybe it will be a contender for best game of 2010, it will be at least in the top 10. But you're forgetting a lot of good games that were released this year. SMG 2, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock 2, and others. It's going to have some stiff competition, don't get your hopes up.

Personally, I loved Halo:Wars. Nobody is talking about it in here. I loved it. I mean it is starcraft and halo in one. It is awesome. But nobody cares enough to talk about it. I hear Halo: ce, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo3: ODST, And Reach but nothing about wars. Who cares about wars in here?

To be honest, no one does, since it's a console RTS and those are supposed to suck. The idea of a Halo RTS is pretty cool though, if only it were done for the PC. Random fact: Halo actually started out as an RTS.

I though Halo Wars was fantastic when I used to play with two of my friends and do 3v3s online. But even though it's classed as an RTS I felt like it was more of an action game with stratagy elements. The base was stuck stationary, the units built SUPER fast (I know the ones in C&C3 did but that's besides the point) and it was more "who can mass the most amount of hawks/grizzlies/odsts/Covenent FOTM" as apposed to "I can counter this with this" which meant it felt lacking in the strategy department. And also, the majority of Halo fans are FPS players, so chances are they won't enjoy an RTS game.dragonspit999 said:

.Well since I'm the action figure guy...Mcfarlane has decided to release a second wave of Halo Reach figures. In them includes a new fellow called a Skirmisher. Related to Jackals I guess. But daaang do they look cool!

I really don't see the entertainment of Halo 3. I've played the multiplayer, but to be honest I'm not that big of a multiplayer fan.
I think would would be awesome is if Bungie would release Halo 1 and 2 on Xbox 360 Marketplace celebrating the release of Halo: Reach.
Since I have yet to play the first two halos.
On the whole ODST note, the only reason I would buy the game now is because I don't own a copy of Halo 3 and the game comes with all maps on one disc.

Man i get tired of this, multiplayer is the bulk of any game. Really i would suggest if u want to play the best halo game play halo 2 i think it is the best all around game play story, music, etc so go play that and then u can decide for yourself but u can not judge everything just by halo 3.
