Is It Just Me or is HS Undaunted not a very good expansion?

It's just you, and here's why.

We know that Scizor and Houndoom are in this set, and both are very decent primes. Espeon is alright as well. Umbreon, slowking and raichu are meh, but the Primes aren't horrible.

The legends are from Hoenn, so hat means RDL, and KGL. KGL is a great card with Gatr prime, but the weakness hurts. Still, that doesn't make it a bad card. RDL is pretty bad though. Overall, Legends are mediocre.

The regular cards in the set are the real winners. Vileplume, Weavile, and a bunch of other are sure to make this set shine.

Undaunted will be a fine set, but nothing special. Was Unleashed special? Not really. Undaunted will be better, by a little bit.

Or option C: They don't know how to run good decks.

In fact, their decks are quite good and they think up ideas better than you all metagamers. It's like if I don't run Luxchomp I'm a loser or something. Maybe some of us want to have fun and express ourselves instead of being like robots programmed to run three different metagame decks.

Well dialga is just waiting to get power sprayed. plus, bubble coat is only a one-off and not searchable. It will get sniped off the bench before its ready to attack

What about Bench Shield? And EXPLOUD!! Just tech in a 1-0-1 line and your free of weakness. And if Dialga gets Power Sprayed, then use SSU/Hunter to return it to your hand and reuse it. Plus you're forcing your opponent to play Power Sprays that they might of been saving for later game.

UD is a tech set, meaning quite frankly there aren't many great cards(Flygon X etc.) but a lot of good techs/surprise decks. My top 6 cards to get from this set are
1. Umbreon Prime, IDK if i'm overhyping it, but an SSU every turn just has to be good.
2. Umbreon, bestest one energy attack in the set, it shuts down SPs, sometimes, another tech.
3. Scizor Prime, good tech to run just to annoy people.
4. RDL, not a great card but is akin to ERL which could mount a comeback quickly this card offers that potential. Similar to Salamance LV.X
5. Combee, i'm not kidding, Mach Wind, then Combee up to do a ton of damage, problem is that Vespiqueen is fragile at best.
6. Raichu Prime, Again I have no idea if this will be good but at the very least it has potential.
I'm not going to mention the T/S/S because IMO you should just get them even they aren't good, you never know and that's what i do just so i have a playset of 4, like Cyrus's Iniative....
Also Umbreon Prime WILL NOT reach 30, look if you get 5/6 primes in a box they're common, also Umbreon Prime isn't going to dominate due to weakness to fighting...
Know the reason Luxray GL LV.X got a high price was
1. It was in One of the, if not the worst LV.X-box set ever, 2/9-3/9 per box, making them exceedingly rare.

2. It was used in all THREE 2009 World Championship decks.

3. It was fast, had free retreat and simply got better as the season wore on instead of worse.

4. It had many partners, making it versatile.

5. At one point it seemed like Luxray GL LV.X needed to be in every deck.

Look none of these primes will ever be more than 20 dolllars, that's just fact, they're common and easy to get online for about 8 bucks.
Also look at the top cards from DP-PA in terms of price
1. Luxray GL LV.X-RR
2. Uxie LV.X-LA
3. Flygon LV.X-RR
4. Leafeon LV.X-MD
5. Garchomp LV.X-MD

They are ALL from bad pull sets and except for 4 and 5 have seen extensive play, now 4 and 5 despite not being metagame decks for most of last season are up there because the pack rates are bad.
Now for the top 5 of HGSS-HSU
1. Entei-Raikou Legend-HSU, let's face if this guy had bad pack rates he WOULD be 50+...
2. Kingdra Prime-HSU, this guy never got to 20+ despite being hyped and doing AMAZING at Nats...
3. Jumpluff-HGSS, this Holo Rare is still about 10 bucks, why because it's harder to get a holo rare than Prime..
4. Donphan Prime, you could interchange it w/ Jumpluff really.
5. Alph Lithograph(s), I'd say T-tar prime but his price has never spiked too high and these will at the very least always be collectible.

All I'm saying is that if Kingdra Prime couldn't hit 30+ and ERL couldn't hit 40+ there's no way Umbreon will hit 30+.

Call me a metagamer will you? I went to Nats with Regigigas, I currently got Garchomp SV, Suicune/Entei Legend, Steelix Prime, Tangrowth and Houndoom (Proxied) ready to play with. However I would like to know how my deck fares against metagame decks because those are what you're most likely to face.
Your crusade against Metagame decks will not get you anywhere.

5. Combee, i'm not kidding, Mach Wind, then Combee up to do a ton of damage, problem is that Vespiqueen is fragile at best.

But the great thing about Vespiquen in this set is it's body that makes it so none of your bench Pokemon can be sniped including itself (if you are running strictly Grass) I actually think Landmin X might actually be viable option this time without breaking consistency and speed (unlike how it was with Jumpluff) because of that. The only thing that shuts it down is Dialga GX.

Lol, like I don't play against metagame decks. I don't choose what I play against, I go with the flow. I don't mind if my opponent uses metagame decks, it just means they are never going to get better at Pokemon. Using a metagame is basically like copying answers off test.

just because someone plays the best decks available doesnt mean theyre "copying". And it takes JUST as much skill to play luchomp than most other decks (by far)

Its just you, the legend are beast in this set.

The only LEGEND I see capable of being a beast in this set
is Kyogre/Groudon LEGEND but due to high attack costs I don't
think it will be as efficient competitively as say Entei/Raikou LEGEND.

With Claydol gone next season it has a chance of being good, mainly KGL.

That, or in fact learning how to play said deck. Which helps in understanding it. Which helps in devising combos like that on your own. Which leads to you becoming a better player.

So you're saying someone like Kyle S. (Pooka) isn't good because he won US nationals last year with Luxape? You say Jason K. (Ness) isn't good because he won worlds in '08 with Plox? You're saying that Sami S. isn't good because he won UK nats this year with LuxChomp? There's just as big of a reason that they won these tournaments with metagame decks; it's because they're great players. You pretty much just said that almost everybody at the top tables are never going to get better at Pokemon when in reality they are probably way better than you'll ever be.

You know what? This entire topic is just stupid and let's all stop spamming before we all get this thread closed, which it should be. I know your not better than me, so give it up. And yeah, I'm saying they're bad, they should try making their own decks for once.

Thus lies in the problem in netdecking, though I do agree on originality but it's hard to find an effective form of it when they print less good cards with play potential in competitive and casual.

It is just you. There are tons of good cards in the set that could change the Meta, and we will get the rest of clash at the summit and lost link. We won't get Black/ white till like Feb or May. We don't even know all the cards in Undaunted yet.

Okay I'm done now. Seriously, you don't know what you're saying. Those guys can probably make decks better then anything you could ever hope to produce. They just play what they feel works best and what suits their style best. And in doing so, they win. Sure they could build an awesome advanced-combo deck that could be fun - but when you're playing for gold, then you play what you think has the best shot of winning.
You. Calling the WORLD CHAMPION of the game bad.

HAH!

Heh, what's funny is that I admit I can't make a SUPER-POWERFUL SPEEDY CROBAT G LUXRAY GL LV. X COUNTER MIGHTY DECK THAT RUNS ON 2 ENERGY OR LESS. Mainly because I've only been playing since last States, but at least I know how to make a deck without that dang Claydol everyone worships. I think it's sad how a 23-year old dude is arguing with a 12-year old. HAH! Get a life.

well I mean we hardly know whats in the set, but I still think I might agree. also I have a feeling the sleeves will be just as poorly made as the unleashed and supreme victors sleeves.

The Unleashed sleeves were (and even looked) terrible IMO. SV sleeves were actually decent enough for me. At least the Promo is really nice this time.
