Is vileplume going to be that rare?

Because its so untinkable that Gengar plays around that. And then its unthinkable that Dialga plays around Gengar playing around Dialga playing around Gengar playing around Dialga playing around Gengar playing around Dialga.

Guys, we can theorymon all we want but there are so many variables here.
Yes, Dialga is SP's best answer to Vileplume.
No, Dialga will not be in EVERY SP deck.
Yes, Vileplume WILL be played a lot.
No, Vileplume will NOT be the fastest deck around.

Agreed. Dragon Rush the Haunter, it will cripple it even further.

i got 1 in my booster box :(. and i think its a bit slow. But hay im a complete noob

Thats why I just bought the cards I was interested in. And right now you can get them online for < $2

I disagree with you saying it'll be played a lot, Lou. Personally, I think it's overhyped and Lux/Chomp has a heyday with taking Prizes against it. It's an alright card, but nothing super rare and good like Luxray Lv.X. :F

You guys can sit here and argue all day long about the value of Vileplume.
The simple fact is this; just like Luxray X, if a deck does well with Vileplume, then it will be worth more. As I always say; "actions speak louder then words".

If you ask me, Vileplume is just too slow.

It's slow and can barely maintain its lock. It can't survive. Case closed.

Im playing Luxchomp against dmaster's gengar/vileplume (pretty well built)

I went 2-0 against it, once you snipe both vileplumes theyre just done, because its so easy to play around gengar when theres no vileplume in play.

The deck is also slow in general. Any turns let off of Trainer and SP will win. :F Basically it just needs like God hands or something.

Have any of you looked at the Magnezone option? I mean seriously, we all know that Magnezone worked well before as a good control deck.
Start the lock early with Tomb, then use Tomb and Zone's power to set up and start Paralyze locking them. And even if they arent trainer locked all game, 80 damage is a powerful attack.

The only problem with that is warp energy. G-Dos, mirror, dialga and anything to do with vileplume will play it.

Even should vileplume break the format (and SP isnt the answer for you), its counterable in the deck building stage.
Drop yourTrainer count by a few.
If vileplume runs wild, more people will shy away from trainers making it less effective.

Its not like luxray, where the counter would be not to play bench pokemon.

But then you need a stage 2 Lv. X and another stage 2. So thats even slower than Gengar.

And a card being bad has always stopped folks from toying around with it in the past huh? In BR's, it WILL be played a lot if only due to the hype around it.
Whether or not it'll win is a whole different ballgame and not one I'm going to make any comments on.

I have no doubt that it will be played in a fair few numbers at BR, sure. A lot, no. Played, yes. Maybe for the first couple weeks more than any other time, of course. But then people won't play it again unless we get more support from Supporters lol.

The truth is, is that its far too easy to play around. You can play around the trainer lock with bebes, play around poltergeist by getting rid of your trainers by using them before the lock or putting them back in the deck with bebes, and you can play around fainting spell by sniping or KOing it with uxie.

Sniping doesn't get around fainting spell. It still works from the bench.

What? Crobat G drop does get around Fainting Spell, whether it's on the Bench or not. Uxie LA can go under and avoid it as well if Gengar is Active and KO'ed.
