XY Mega Pokémon: Which Pokémon Would You Like To See With A Mega Evolution?

Personally I feel that future Mega Evolutions should have their types changed sparingly. A Pokemon should stick with the type it was originally designated, otherwise we're going to have a highly bloated game of types. What makes things like Dragalge unique is its unique type combo, and if every Pokemon gained new typings, then I feel these Pokemon like Dragalage loose their specialness. Basically, I am wondering why many people are suggesting adding/changing a type (especially things like Ghost/Poison/Psychic/Fighting etc)

Well some Pokemon just feel incomplete or unfitting in their current types. I mentioned Dunsparce earlier and how there's a lot going on with it for potential types. It can fly, it can dig, it's serpentine, and yet it's still pure Normal? It feels like there's more they could do with it. And you say that Mega Evolution can take away the uniqueness from certain typing combinations, but the opposite can also happen and you can make Pokemon even more unique by giving them a new type combination. We've seen this already in fact with the likes of Sceptile and Altaria, they both got Megas that gave them new and unique type combinations.

Some types are also lacking variety in certain types. I mentioned earlier on how Kanto is lacking in rarer and newer types like Dark and Ghost and so I gave some Kanto Pokemon these types so that players would have more options (Game Freak themselves has also done this as well to a lesser degree, giving us Fire/Dragon Mega Charizard X, Electric/Dragon Mega Ampharos, and Water/Dark Mega Gyarados).

Dunsparce I just don't feel the need to have a dual type. Just make it ground or make it normal. They chose normal, and I'm fine with that. I also think normal was chosen due to the mythical creature the Pokemon is based on, but icr exactly. In regards to Megas, there is still more Megas that have unaltered typing than those that do. If more than half did, I would feel that extra typings is no long unique. Also, things like Sceptile and Altaria are noticeably different to represent their new typings - when I look at both (as well as Gyarados and Lopunny) I don't feel their original designs display their Mega typings well, but their Mega typings do.

What's the point adding new typings when the region is sorta past and gone? I just don't feel it's right, and it seems like the original Pokemon are now different. I do see where you are coming from, though :)

Wow alot of post I missed...

Anyway, on the topic of dunsparce. It's actually a pretty difficult pokemon to come up with a mega for.. I mean, his movepool is there. Coil, glare, rockslide, headbutt, he has the same potential as togekiss.. just not as good typing, and very little bulk. They could maybe increase his bulk (cause speed is somewhat irrelevant with glare) giving him a more defensive role since dunspare does have a really good supportive and defensive movepool (roost, stealth rock, again glare, coil to further it's bulk and give offensive potential).

Maybe?
Hp: 100
Atk: 90 +20
Def: 120 +50
SpA: 65
SpD: 115 +50
Spe: 25 -20
Serene grace/prankster/simple
He has a pretty nice HP stat to work off of. Prankster roost, glare, and stealth rock would make him a really good utility mon. Simple would make coil extremely dangerous (like prankster too I guess), and serene grace still makes him an annoying paraflincher that he can still be without the mega.

The typing I'm not sure.. I kinda want to leave him as pure normal, not for logical reasons.. but because normal is a much better defensive typing. If I make him ground, special attacks such as ice beam/surf ruin him majorly no matter what set he's running. If he's pure normal, he can still work around fighting types with that coil and roost combination, while having not other weaknesses to be wallbroken with, while retaining his ghost type switch in.

In regards to Megas, there is still more Megas that have unaltered typing than those that do. If more than half did, I would feel that extra typings is no long unique.

And I didn't list anywhere near half, so there's no problem. For every Pokemon I listed I can think of 2 or 3 others that don't need any significant change.

What's the point adding new typings when the region is sorta past and gone?

I'm not so sure it is, I could see them coming back to Kanto again sometime in the future.

I just added ground so that fair is paired with more types.

Since Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross and Garchomp all received Mega Evolutions, I think it'd be fair if the rest of the Pseudo-Legendaries were to receive Megas before Gen VI concludes, in my opinion.

Let's start off with...

Mega Dragonite
I have quite a few ideas for it. To make it unique from Mega Salamence, it should become Dragon/Water for typing variety reasons. As for it's Ability, Multiscale is the route to go. I also reckon it could receive an Ability that can convert Normal Type moves into Water Type moves. Then I thought No Guard can also be great, as Dragonite has plenty of low accurate, but very powerful moves to take full advantage of that Ability.

It should gain increased Sp. Atk and Speed, as well as a small buff in its' Attack and Defences. Plenty of options to choose from with a possible Mega for one of Kanto's best Dragons.

Appearance-wise, it can try it's best to be as long and majestic as it's pre-evolution. I can see the tail becoming much longer, as well as some blue pearls and a cool beard to go along with it.

Mega Hydreigon
The mon seems balanced, but a Mega should do no harm to it. It should remain Dark/Dragon, but like Mega Dragonite, there are plenty of options for its' Mega, at least in my opinion.

Judging by its' movepool, and to be a monstrous threat it deserves to be, it's new Ability can either.
A. Be a new Ability to convert Normal Type moves into Dark Type moves, to take full advantage of moves like Tri Attack or Hyper Voice.
B. Contary is something, as it has a STAB to take advantage of with that Ability, but I think that's way too much to ask for what is an already dangerous Dragon Type and an already unbalanced metagame.
Or C. If you feel as though B is too much, even though I just established it, then you're free to suggest whatever Ability it rightfully deserves when it does get a Mega Evolution eventually.

As for it's appearance, I think it should be some intimidating dragon cyborg thing, or something like that.

And last, but not least...

Mega Goodra
Goodra definitely deserved just a little more when it comes to defensive and offensive usage.

To make it a dangerous healer, it should gain Regenerator. That will really help the cute slimy Dragon be a threat. It has decent offenses, so it's Attack and Sp. Atk should be equal to allow some defensive support. It's typing should be Dragon/Poison to help it properly stand up to dangerous Fairy Types like Sylveon, Florges, Togekiss and Xerneas.

It may not be easy to picture, but it can grow some slimy whips on its' arms and back. I even think it can grow a second and slimier tail, but mainly to use it as a whip.

If you have better ideas for those guys, you're more than welcome to share them.

B. Contary is something, as it has a STAB to take advantage of with that Ability, but I think that's way too much to ask for what is an already dangerous Dragon Type and an already unbalanced metagame.

A Mega pseudo legend that can use Contrary + Draco Meteor is about as unbalanced as it gets.

I would much rather see normal evolution's than Mega-evolution's.

Pokemon like Saybaleye, Bannete, Mawile, and much more were just ruined for me. I mean what if we get a Mega Dunsparce? I mean, I would MUCH rather see a regular evolution for him.

Sylveon was the only Pokemon that evolved from a past Pokemon (Eevee), But if a legendary gets a mega then thats fine with me
(I would like to see the Unova/Issue Starters get mega's)

If you're using an -ate ability, there's no need for extra Dark type moves. He's got more than enough to work with already. And I'd rather not remove Zoroark's signature ability.

I am desperately hoping for Mega-Evolutions of...

3. Tropius. the design looks somewhat incomplete. I'm imagining a crazy dragon thing with a banana headdress. making it Grass-Dragon would be interesting, but they already did that with Sceptile. And its Typing makes it unique. So maybe give it the Overgrow Ability, or Gale Wings. That'd be interesting.

2. Seviper and Zangoose. C'mon, guys. This should be obvious. These guys need it like Miley Cyrus needs to get thrown out a window.
For Zangoose, I'm imagining a decked-out pure Fighting-Type with a crazy Ability that I can't think of. xD
And Seviper, I'm thinking Dark-Poison Type with an Ability that helps it against Fighting-Type Moves. ^_^

1. Zoroark! For crying out loud!!!!!!!! Lucario got one. It's only natural that Zoroark should get one as well. And it NEEDS one. More spikes. Higher attack. Higher DEFENSE. Gaaaaah. Probably not a Type change, but needs a huge stat boost.

That's all I can think of at the moment. ^_^

3. We don't need ANOTHER Mega which loses its Flying Typing!
1. yeah, a lot of Pokémon like Zoroark (Slowking, Froslass and Butterfree) don't have Megas either.

Victini and ZORUA need it more mega evolving Latios (animated).gif (mainly Victini) mega victini.jpg
I'm expecting a Primal Regigigas (remove Slow Start add Intimidate/Pressure/or Huge Power (depends if you want an Uber or not)
110 base increase (to make it from 670-780 (tied with Mega Mewtwo, Ray, and over Primal Kyogre and Groudon) or about 100)

Why the boost on Special Attack? All of Shuckle's decent moves are physical.
That's the point. It already has the best defenses, so why give it a great attacking moveset on top of that? Keeping it Special based means Shuckle's defenses are still is main thing, plus you can give it Sludge Wave or Earth Power to shake things up.

Shuckle is meant to be defensively oriented, that's why its Attack and Special Attack are so weak. Boosting its Attack or Special Attack isn't going to be much help, so they shouldn't be the main focus.
