@ EPM- I think you need work with your c4ds. It's not really that difficult to have a c4d for a background and it looks bland. I think you should get a proper background and work c4ds into as the effects. I have a small basic c4d tutorial in my tutorials thread and I show you basically about placement etc. Also the outer glow isn't helping at all. As I have said previously (forgot who to) the outer glow ruins the piece. Blending is a vital skill needed in sig making and this completely throws it off. Also I think you could use some nice c4ds on top of that and maybe make a black layer and set it as a clipping mask on the zekrom render to darken it and mess with the opacity so it doesn't look to saturated.

The lack of blending in the Zekrom tag is bothering me. Not blending is already bad, but adding an outer glow makes the blending even worse. Remove the outer glow, and then smudge/erase the edges a bit.
Also, this is a MAJOR thing. NEVER overuse C4D's. It substitutes quality for effects, which isn't a good thing.

Tag looks pretty cool. Nice and simple.
The lighting bothers me a bit tbh. The lighting on the right seems a bit too strong in my opinion as well as the shadows on the left being too dark.
I like the colours used here but the effects could use some work. From what I can make out I see some smudge on the left but none on the right. I'd like to see a bit more consistency in this. Some light blending would also do great for this.
The text.. this I like which I think is one of the first times I've said here haha. Nice and subtle. I like the placement a lot too.

So....I got a Tablet, and seeing from my Avatar and Banner, I've been able to jump a few steps. Also, YAY FOR PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 7!!!!

After finishing this, my main concern was the lighting. I will try to fix that.
The smudging isn't visible on the right because the brushes and etc cover it up. :/
I tried to use subtle effects so I could give off a clean, simple feeling. I believe I somewhat accomplished this.

What do you mean by "terribly placed"? It looks fine to me.
The black spot in the center of the background is the focal point, therefore, your text should be around it. It is over it. What I mean to say is, move it over a few notches to the left. Also, the text is black and so is the focal point, so is looks terrible with black on black.
What you could have done instead was make that text your focal and make an appealing effect based around it.
