Ruling Misunderstandings and Mistakes.

I dont know if it has been said, but YOU MUST PUT 1 OR 2 CARDS BACK TO USE Claydols Cosmic Power, you cant do it without doing that.

I have had a lot of opponent do that, and at the tornaments too.

Well, if you didn't put a card from your hand, it's like you never played it, do you? The "may" part is the fact that the power is optional. The putting the cards down under is a cost, and the profit is the drawing.

But people are just drawing, not putting the cards back first.

Which is, for obvious reasons, illegal. If you didn't pay for it, you can't expect to get the effect, can you? The "may", which people might abuse, is taken to effect as being attached to the card returning, not the power in general.

This is a bit of a necro, and this may have already be posted, but oh well.

LA Armaldo's attack's effect can bew neutralized by a switch. I thought the effect applied to the spot, not the damaged pokemon. Turns out it doesn't. :(

Oh jeez I thought that you could not evolve using rare candy your first turn. On the bottom it says it counts as evolving a pokemon so I got confused. If you go second can you evolve in general?

I have no idea who even moved this here...

Well anyway. If you go second you can use Rare Candy to evolve on your first turn. If you go second you cannot evolve by normal methods, you may only evolve using Rare Candy or some other effect that specifically tells you to break the evolution rules. For example: Broken Time Space or Caterpie GEs Poke-Power Pupate.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by the example above, but you can have up to four of each type of unown G, so you can have:
4 UNown R
4 Unown G, etc.

This may be a stupid statement, but I thought you could only have 4 cards with Unown in their names total in a deck... unless that only applies to the old Neo Destiny stuff, which now that I'm looking at it is probably the case. The GE Unown don't seem to have that rule on them. Nevermind.

My actual question is one concerning old cards. My friend plays NG Kingdra and uses Agility which reads, "Flip a coin. If heads, during your opponent's next turn, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Kingdra." She gets heads. I then play Light Jolteon, and try to use the attack Pulse Guard which reads, "During your opponent's next turn, whenever 30 or more damage is done to Light Jolteon (after applying Weakness and Resistance), prevent that damage. (Any other effects of attacks still happen.)" Does Kingdra's Agility prevent my Pulse Guard? The confusing thing here is that Pulse Guard allows effects of attacks to happen, so Agility should work, but Pulse Guard does not directly affect Kingdra, to whom Agility's effect specifically refers.

Pulse Guard's effect still works since it's not directed to Kingdra.

Not sure this is the best place to put this, if it is just move it to where it needs to be, cheers

Right, one thing i've noticed and can't find anything about it anywhere, maybe searching for the wrong terms, but i've just started getting back into the game big time, collecting for now, start playing? I dunno, maybe, but I do have one question, I've bought a fair few boosters, and pulled some cards like this Cherrim card, now what I don't get is why Salty Sweet scents energy usage is Blurred out, does it have a usage? Does it use Grass Energy, or whatever you want? Just been confusing me since I picked them.

Those types of attacks require no Energy to use. You don't need any Energy on Cherrim to do that attack.

dmaster out.
