money for a kid

No not online trading. Regular trading with your own regular friends within your own school or even church as you go. I sometimes run across members within my church and one I am trading with while he is here in my area XD.:)

Yeah it does depend how old you are and where you live. In the UK no one collect's cards, it's near impossible to find someone in your own town that likes them, certainly those old enough. I don't attend a church nor do I go school so it would be impossible. Plus friends don't have everything online trading if you have the money is the best option though mabye not on forums.

Valid point. If I am trading overseas, it has to be for many cards or a card not easy to find. You have cost of shipping, and the inconvenience of having to go into the post office.

Exactly that's why I don't trade for stuff less than $20 in value , I got into the habit of using $ as my default currency when valueing stuff since most people are from the US. I have had people wanting just to trade for a few holos it's alright for some but my post office is 40 minutes away From me plus i don't get unlimited funds just by asking my parents.

Hand weighing does not work
Hand weighing got me a klang. It really doesn't work.
The answer?
Buy singles is saves money.
I got a cobalion once for only $3.95
That's less than a pack!

I hope you realize that, assuming that Cobalion wasn't FA, that was a bad deal. And, in some places, that is the cost of a pack and significantly more than some that I have found online as some people will buy boxes then sell packs individually.

But yes buying singles is your best bet for guaranteed results (I also have had failures in weighing packs, although it was just using my hands so not perfectly accurate but still WAAAIIIILLLOOOORRRDDDD)

If your going to weigh packs just buy a hand scale that weighs diamond and jewellery. $15 for one the best investment you will make. Buying singles is boring but it depends on what sort of Pokemon person you are collector or player.

PLZ, CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO GET 4 GUST OF WIND, or, catcher, ONLY BY BUYING BOOSTERS???

No but seriously, some cards like this one cannot be traded (used by everyone), cannot be bought (14 for one...) and cannot be yours even if you buy a booster box (i have read a thread about getting catchers from boxes of emerging powers, and it seems that it s more rare than FAs, although it is only an uncommon).

I personally buy boosters, for the surprises, and trade to get the singles.

ps: someone should totally make a thread about weight packs, lol, i am really interested, hihihi (it s NOT a spam, just a suggestion)

If you are looking for these cards you might have to search for single cards or oder online. I have about 20 Gust of Wind cards and would be happy to trade one if you come to my house or have a base Charizard on you when you come LOLz. No seriously you might have to buy these online or search for singles XD.:( Wish I could give you one of mine but I can't XD.:(

@ash
Which I do not have the money, back to topic.
One catcher = 14$ = 3 packs
I buy max 2 packs a month, by the time I will have 4 catchers, it will be rotated.

Catcher

you can get four Gust of Winds in a month.

I prefer to say Gust of Wind, instead of Catcher. A catcher is 10 bucks, it d take me exactly 4 months to get 4. Thank you, Pokemon Company, for giving us such an unbalanced card that only rich people can afford.

Honestly, i have not seen a single player with catchers without having 2 benders of BW-on cards.

Ummmm... I have 6+ Catchers, and my binder isn't not even near full of cards because of trading...

Honestly catcher is one of the best things TPC could've given us, imagine what Zekeels could do if we couldn't catcher up their eels? It'd just make an extreme pain in the butt.

Also, if you want catchers just go and earn $40 to get 4... It's really not that much :)

Why not save your money, instead of spending it every month? It's not rich people who can get the cards they need, it's people who spend their money wisely.

$40 is a lot for someone who has no source of income. In the past, I used to save my the $5 I got to buy lunch one day each week to buy stuff. That's $15-$20 a month. I used to get allowance ($20 a month) but that was way back in the ex series :p
So, you can imagine how hard and long it would take for a kid with no money to save up $40.

Hehehe not always. There's two sides of the rich people and Pokemon spectrum.
There's the kid who has rich parents that buy him booster boxes as soon as they come out or just buy whatever singles he wants. This kids usually tend to be spoiled little brats.
Then there's the adult who has a normal or above average job, but lives with his parents so he doesn't have to pay any bills and can spend his whole paycheck on Pokemon cards.

But anyways, I do agree, spending your money wisely is the best thing you can do. A while ago, when the only money I had was what I sold on Ebay, I invested money into about 16 Celebi Primes. Why? Cause there was always at least 3 for auction and I could usually snag them for $2-$3. At the time I did this because they were the cheapest coolest Ultra Rare available and I wanted the biggest collection of them ever :p
Little did I know that farther down the road I would more than triple my money on them!
